A little shaky in the beginning but she pulled through. Nice performance

    • xoxo December 11, 2012

      is she preggos ????

      • irene46 December 11, 2012

        i wondered that too!

i thought she sounded like toni in the beginning which was good.

  2. HIVE December 11, 2012

    I ACTUALLY LIKE THE SONG

HOWEVER THIS WAS NOT A GOOD PERFORMANCE

BUT I’M PROUD OF HER FINALLY DOING WHAT SHE’S BEEN WANTING TO DO FOR YEARS

I HOPE SHE KEEPS IT UP AND STAYS WITH IT

  3. VANNY December 11, 2012

Talent at its finest!!!! there is no denying the talent in tamar.. who ever dont agree is just plain hating on her…. as much as i dislike her personality , this song and her voice has made me a fan!

  4. likedbymany December 11, 2012

This was a so so performance. It could have been better. But im still rooting for her.
I also think she needs back-up singers to pick up some of the slack.

    • toohotfortv December 11, 2012

      do you sing?

  5. Edwardponton December 11, 2012

    Pitchy.

    • toohotfortv December 11, 2012

      Bitchy?

    • lpd December 23, 2012

No, she was a little pitchy at the beginning, but did you not hear the feedback she was getting from the sound system in Wendy’s studio? When they got that fixed she was able to hold her pitch. I DO sing and I know what nerves do to your voice, with adrenaline causing your voice to go a bit sharp or a bit flat on a note when normally you wouldn’t. The test is whether you can bring it together after that initial surge of adrenaline. Tamar gets big props from me for pushing through it and getting it on pitch. The feedback made it that much more nerve-wracking for her at the beginning, trust me. As she gets more experience singing live in many different venues, that stuff will get better. She’s got serious chops. Not many singers can send chills down my spine like Tamar does when she opens it up and belts it out toward the end of the song. It must be kinda tough to sing lead with recorded back-up vocals. Your band adjusts their pace to your pace, but the pre-recorded stuff forces you to keep up with it and it’s a stern taskmaster. All singers sing the same song at a slightly different pace and with slightly different ad libs from one day to the next. I think she did just fine and I look forward to when her CD drops on Feb 12.

  6. antertain December 11, 2012

Defo got power. As she does it more the more confident she’ll be.
    Proud of the like vocals.
All she gotta do now is perform it more and she’ll find her zone with what she wants to do vocally in certain places.

Song is hot and I’ve played it loooooaaaaadddddssssss

    • BrownSuga December 11, 2012

      *live vocals

      • antertain December 11, 2012

Yes that’s is what i meant lol.
        Good spot BrownSuga

    • lpd December 23, 2012

Same here! I LOVE the song and can’t wait until her CD drops on Feb. 12. Hopefully, she’ll get the radio time she deserves.

  7. pat December 11, 2012

she was obviously nervous, but even still better than damn near most of the industry….by her third performance she’ll be perfection

  8. checkingbitches December 11, 2012

All haters think that the ones who can actually sing are always pitchy. Smh.

    • DaHotNig December 11, 2012

Right! And most of their non talented asses didn’t know what pitchy was until Randy and Simon started saying it on American Idol!

      • NFG (No f**** given) December 11, 2012

And pitch problems still happen to the best of singers. It’s not that big of a deal. There’s also a difference b/w hating and stating facts.

  9. All hail Ariyah, Queen of the Grandenites!!! December 11, 2012

I didnt like this performance at all. Her best performance of this song was when she was practicing for the showcase.

    • toohotfortv December 11, 2012

are u stupid? i’m not saying that that may not’ve been her best performance of the song, what i’m saying is… the only people who can really compare and contrast are the people who were at the rehearsal (or the showcase) bc guess what? you saw it on TV. and guess what?… that means it was edited you fool.

  10. Dee December 11, 2012

Good job tamar you can tell she was nervous but she still killed it

    • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

Yea. I think the sudden success of this song took her by surprise. She was kinda pitchy BUT THATS NOT BAD! Ive even heard Patti, Mariah, JHud etc. pitchy b4 so its just one of those things that sometimes happen. Some days the voice just does that. I know bc i sing. She’ll find her zone after a few more performances but THIS GIRL STILL KILT IT!!

  11. S December 11, 2012

Amazing!! That note she hit was amazing then she did that run after the note reminded me of how mariah do it she clearly is a lamb it shows
    Great performance love the song

  12. HIP HOP STAR December 11, 2012

“watch here” gurl bye yall know yall coulda posted the youtube link on this post
just tryna to get more hits to flop is diva

  13. Mario December 11, 2012

Braxton is a good singer but it is impossible to deny the nasal and almost forced quality of her voice during this showing. Perhaps she was simply having a bad day or the song is a bit beyond her ability. Either way, it’s great to see Braxton stepping out of Toni Braxton’s shadow and proving that she can do something other than behave like a bobble head doll.

    • Mario December 11, 2012

Dislike it all you want it is the truth and you can’t handle it.

      • NFG (No f**** given) December 11, 2012

        She sounds too shouty!

      • toohotfortv December 11, 2012

There may have been some slight issues with this performance (all of which she recovered from), but nasal-ness and a “forced vocal” were not them. Do you homework, son.

      • Mario December 11, 2012

i do my homework she could not sings the first verse which is a low register because she naturally needs to work on that but she did not sing them properly because she was not using her breath correctly so she sang out of her noise thus the nasal-ness and the forced vocal come from the fact that she was not using her breath correctly so the high not that she tried to hit was not free, control nor resonant rather forced and strain so you will deal. you are just a band-wagon fan who can’t attempt that your current fav was not good.i was not even hating every singer has some issue that they could always work on so deal.

    • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

Do u sing? Not being shady, i’m just askn…

      • Mario December 12, 2012

I don’t have to sing to tell when someone is singing from their noses and not their diaphragm.

      • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

        Just askn hun

    • lpd December 23, 2012

Mario, you are correct about her breathing for part of the song. Tamar herself knows that’s an area she has to work on. But, you are way off about it being nasal. There wasn’t anything nasal about it. As a matter of fact, you can’t belt it out like that if you are all in your head and not using your diaphragm. Where I noticed the breathiness was just in her dropping some of the lyrics here and there. I attribute that more to nervousness & trying to keep up with pre-recorded back-up vocals than anything else. Tamar has serious chops. She’ll get less nervous the more she does it. At least she can actually sing without having her voice “auto-tuned” like some so-called singers (JLo, Britney Spears, etc.).

  14. MUSICHEAD December 11, 2012

When she hit that note I got a lil emotional lol.

And WEEEEEEEE stay on the front line!

    • lpd December 23, 2012

Same here. I get all teary-eyed every time I listen to that song, especially the last chorus. And I’m not one to cry, as a rule. Lol.

  15. bash December 11, 2012

Beyonce looks and sounds different here…jk

  16. Felicia Ortiz December 11, 2012

Vocally, she was all over the place. Very pitchy in spots, she lost control more than a few times….the first verse wasn’t good at all. Honey if you wanna hang with the DIVAS you always compare yourself to, you need to practice, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!! Just keeping it real….the song is beautiful nonetheless.

    • LittleJohnny December 11, 2012

She was not “all over the place”. She really wasn’t pitchy but it appears that she she didn’t have full control of her breath which to me indicates she had nerves. Nerves can make the best singer sound like the worst but she wasn’t pitchy. The performance was decent at best. Of course she needs practice as she hasn’t had to stand on her own in years. And I’m not sure who the Divas you speak of are , but I’m sure I don’t think they can sing.

      • Mario December 11, 2012

aka not in full control of her breath aka makes you pitchy.

      • Mario December 11, 2012

        FELICIA ORTIZ
was right and honest in her comment and all of a sudden Little Johnny want to come and be all bitchy and stany.

      • LittleJohnny December 11, 2012

Mario, pitchy and breath control are 2 totally different things. And I am not a stan for Tamar or anyone else but God.

    • toohotfortv December 11, 2012

      shut up. Just…. shut up.

    • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

H** u really need to just shut up and so does mario

      • Mario December 12, 2012

F*** you lame bandwagon fan!I’l see you when you jump ship to somebody else stan camp.

      • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

Queen whatever. Wtf u mean i jumped ship? Never mind queen u not eeeeeven worth me dragn. Ok watever u say. Tootles

  17. cocobutta December 11, 2012

For her first PROPER live vocal performance I give her some props.
Like many have said, she was very nervous & thats a good thing I think.

She hit most notes and did nicely.
Expect more polish next time but she can blow

    • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

      She was just nevous here

  18. D December 11, 2012

Tamar sing b****!!!!!!!!! A little pitchy but Rihanna could never, Ciara could never, *whispers* Nicki MInaj could never (thats still my b**** tho), Rita Whora could never, and Moreriah cant anymore and will never again. Do ya thang!

    • NFG (No f**** given) December 11, 2012

MC can’t anymore. Lol. True. But she slayed Tamar back in the day and didn’t have pitch issues either.

      • Deeznutz December 11, 2012

True…NOBODY was f****** with Mariah back in the day (besides Whitney). lol

      • lpd December 23, 2012

EVERYONE has pitch issues once in a while. The difference between those who can carry a tune and those who can’t is that it doesn’t happen as often to people who can actually sing. Tamar was getting bad feedback from
Wendy’s sound system at first–didn’t y’all hear the echo? The few notes that she was pitchy on came early and were clearly the result of nerves.

    • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ December 11, 2012

Tip #1 while insulting or throwing shade: Spell their name correctly.

      Class dismissed.

      • Mario December 11, 2012

sorry mariah still is the better singer even now the only problem that mariah carey has now is because of age and wear and tear on her vocal chords she has lost the agility she once had(the ease she had in singing is diminshing) however Tamar is an ok singer but she is still not a vocalist like MC.

      • Deeznutz December 11, 2012

@MC with two moths by your name. (lmao)
I know how to spell Mariah. I refer to her as MOREriah because that h** is hefty. She is a certified Jenny Craig legend. lmao

        @Mario
Thats true, however, legends like Chaka Khan and Patti Labelle have been singing longer than Mariah annnnnd they still can sing their songs from 30-40 years go. There are a handful of songs Mariah cant sing anymore because her vocal prowess is GONE FOREVER. All I’m saying is Love and War is a Mariah-like song and the Mariah of today can’t sing that song. lol

      • King B>Rihanna December 11, 2012

They would be able to maintain they voice Patti idk how she does that but otherwise they voices are not as complex as MC voice so it would easier to maintain those voices plus i hear MC has a drinking habit so that would not help either.

  19. OMG (Celine Dion) December 11, 2012

She and Wendy could be sisters tho………… Nice performance btw

    • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ December 11, 2012

      SHADE

  20. SHARON December 11, 2012

Great perfomance tamar! Little shaky at the start but u did ur best! Well done! 🙂

  21. NFG (No f**** given) December 11, 2012

I honestly think she has a nice tone and I can hear some Toni influence in her voice. However, she needs to work on the control of her voice especially in the lower register. She sounds kinda shouty at times.

    • Mario December 11, 2012

she needs to work on the lower registers are not controlled, clear and resonant.

      • NFG (No f**** Given) December 11, 2012

She has the same problem Demi Lovato has.

      • irene46 December 11, 2012

        demi lovato?!!! pleeez!!!

  22. SHA (F*** The Navy and LAX) December 11, 2012

Clearly she was nervous idiots or maybe its vocal damage she is 35 quickly approaching 36?????

    • NFG (No f**** given) December 11, 2012

She still did a nice job but there’s always room for improvement. Why does someone have to be an idiot for giving constructive criticsm?? SMH…

  23. Christina Aguilera December 11, 2012

Pitch is everything doll! I know her vocal coach is somewhere banging on his piano right now. She still did a better job than me.

    • NFG (No f**** given) December 11, 2012

      LOL. Banging on his piano.

    • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

*looks at your name(no one is pitchier chile) and decides to let your name slay you*

  24. Monstarebel (Tamartian) December 11, 2012

She did good.I know shes so happy to finally have music out

  25. nick December 11, 2012

i love it but a few more performances & she will really kill it., she seemed a lil nervous, but i hold her to a high standard cause she can sang., so bring it tamar yesss girl

    • NFG (No f**** Given) December 11, 2012

How was she nervous on a wendy (drag) williams show but slayed the national anthem in front of more people?

      • IDK December 12, 2012

i heard a couple mistakes in her national anthem performance so i would have to disagree with you on that.

      • truth(i could drag the F*** icki but y, she did to herself with reFLOP and no grammy nods. so ill STOMP her pissy fans p**** in chile) December 12, 2012

The difference is this is HER single that she’s promotin and everyone sings the national anthem. The PEOPLE didnt make her nervous it was that sudden number 1 and her promotin it. There IS a difference

  26. Jason Lawson December 11, 2012

What I loved about this performance is that this is a true ARTIST! Tamar Braxton was pulling through in the beginning and she absolutely exploded during the performance and I LOVE IT! I also LOVE that she made it different from the studio version! I have no problems with the issues in the beginning because it was no real issue and it proves she’s an amazing artist! The way she went through the performance to me was amazing! I’m very happy and have always loved the Braxton sisters. I think we should support Tamar because we know how talented she is. 🙂

    • Jason Lawson December 11, 2012

oh also it was clear she was nervous in the beginning and we all know Tamar has said many times she gets shy/nervous so I wasn’t surprised and the performance was amazing y’all 😀

  27. soulmusiclover December 11, 2012

she killed it!! she brags a lot but at least she got talent! unlike some people nicki cough whot think they’re the s*** but can’t do anything on stage

    • NFG (No f**** Given) December 11, 2012

      And Rihanna.

  28. Bad Bytch December 11, 2012

    I luv her voice

  29. mobwife: easy, Breezy & beautiful just like HIM December 11, 2012

I ABSOLUTELY HATE Wendel Williams. That damn man needs a double dose of ESTROGEN to keep up the facade! …hiss, hiss boo

Tamar has a nice voice but sounds just like Toni Braxton IMO! The song is nice but lets just stop pretending as though she is the second coming of Christ. She is married to a heavily connected manager, on a successful Reality TV Show and Lady Gaga did repeatedly tweet the iTune link with instructions to her monsters to support Tamar. All that did contribute to the early success of this track. Wendy’s dumbass was caling out folks names like she is truly on their level……Rihanna, Alicia Keys and TRAILER Swift…..LOL, please stop! 🙂

    • NFG (No f**** Given) December 11, 2012

      I hate WW too.

    • irene46 December 11, 2012

i don’t love wendy but she was just truthing about tamar jumping over those other females to #1 on itunes.

she sounded almost identical to toni at the beginning of the song.

    • lpd December 23, 2012

Oh please! And Mariah Carey was married to Tommy Mottola when she came on the scene, THE heaviest hitter in the music industry at the time. He engineered her entire debut and her music career until she divorced him. For those of you negatively comparing Tamar to a young Mariah, let’s not forget that Mariah was classically trained. Her mother is an opera singer, for pete’s sake. Singers don’t make it just because they’re well-connected or are married to a big-time record producer or manager. Look at Lisa Presley! She couldn’t have had a bigger step up than she got being the daughter of Elvis. But, she’s never been able to make it. There are a lot of negatives to having a successful family member in the business before you, too, not least of which is being continually compared to them. Let’s stop all of the comparing of Tamar to Toni and just evaluate her on her own merits.

  30. Miss Sherri Baby December 11, 2012

She should’ve taken the first verse up a key because it seemed like she wasn’t very comfortable with her lower register. A few pitch problems, but I’m sure her nervousness contributed to it. 🙂 overall, it was a pretty good performance. She should def watch the tape so she can see where she went wrong. As someone stated before me….practice makes perfect! Go mrs Herbert!

    • NFG (No f**** Given) December 11, 2012

      Good advice!

  31. Christopher December 11, 2012

Soooo… Thank goodness Lady Gaga tweeted her little monsters to have a listen to the song..(it worked…clearly…)… and where was Tamar’s wedding ring?…. Did anyone notice it was absent?

  32. Jamel December 11, 2012

    toni braxton reject!!!!

  33. Realest December 11, 2012

Whether you like it or not she can sigh basically better than all the chicks talked about on this site.. RihRih, Keyshia, Rita, Nicki and whoever. Her first performance is her first performance the b**** can blow and that’s just that.. Nerves count for alot so even if she messed up anyone who knows music and sings knows this b**** can siiiiiiiiiiiiing and even Toni said that she’s the best Braxton (even though Toni still my fav).. People stay hatin, glad a TRUE VOCALIST has stepped to the forfront

    • NFG (No f**** Given) December 11, 2012

well nicki never claimed to be a good singer or powerhouse….

    • irene46 December 11, 2012

hope this is a sign that good music is on the rebound. all this euro pop with these non singers goes a loong way.

  34. ENOUGH ONIKA December 11, 2012

It’s just too hard for me to overlook her personality when listening to her music. Now this chick wanna claim she got “vitiligo” like Michael Jackson. That’s her excuse for the “changes” to her face/skin…Tamar sit. Anyway, the performance was ok, nothing to do a holy ghost dance over. And Wendell….nm.

  35. mr.m December 11, 2012

    TAMAR >>>>>>>>>>> Flopyonce .. PERIOD

    • CHUDDS December 11, 2012

      In what universe honey?

    • NFG (No f**** Given) December 11, 2012

      Tamar still loves Beyonce though.

      • CHUDDS December 11, 2012

Exactly. She only said her name about 100000 times on BFV.

    • B. Hill December 11, 2012

LOL!!! Nope. Don’t try and create drama between Beyonce and Tamar…or Beyonce fans and Tamar fans…because nobody is gonna buy into it. Tamar has always showered Bey with big-up’s and from what I’ve been seeing Bey fans have been LOVING L&W.

      Instigation fail.

      Try again. 😛

      • King B>Rihanna December 11, 2012

Beyonce is a better vocalist though name another current girl that can adapt their voices to any genre and any beat like Beyonce. Yes her voice may not have the natural authentic greatness and character like Whitney,MS and Aretha but she makes up for it in technique.she know her voice and it limitations and plays to her strength.her only problem is sometimes her over-sings and sometimes i question her connection to her music but no other girl can compete with Beyonce as a vocalist in today pop music. She has the best technique, control, knowledge of her voice , vocal runs and crescendo among pop stars today.

  36. CHUDDS December 11, 2012

OMG that performance was NOT good! Her breathing was off or something (I’m not a vocal expert), and it lacked the passion that the studio version has. Babygirl should’ve closed those eyes, thought of all the highs and lows of her marriage and GAVE IT TO US! Well there’s always next time….

  37. Jacqxz December 11, 2012

Wendell Williams TRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDD it with that first pic of her and Gaga. No sir, have those seats ova there!

  38. Eric December 11, 2012

The bridge helped her release any jitters she had and she was good after that. A little more practice singing with an earpiece and she’ll be knockin’ ’em out the park.

  39. credits December 11, 2012

Wait until she does those whistle notes….

  40. danny b December 12, 2012

This is only her 2nd live performance of this song and her 1st televised performance so she was probably a little nervous. The pressure is on Tamar but theres more so anticipation and I know she has what it takes. She will definitely show all of us that Tamar Braxton is that b**ch and she has the chops to hang with the top divas. #Tamartian4life

  41. IDK December 12, 2012

Wow, that was a nice performance, I’ll agree with some of the other people when they said after a few more a or less performances. She will def kill it. I just think she was nervous. This is her 1st time performing her OWN music LIVE so she probably was feeling so many emotions. Also with all the hype it been getting she wanted to really do her best so that could add to the momentum of her nervousness. But She had hella swagg performing it tho. I give it a 3.9/5! A few more performances and she will be on top with the BEST. GOOD LUCK TAMAR!!!
P.S: I hope she doesn’t slow down the promo train now that she’s out.

  42. Love Kelly December 12, 2012

Good job Tamar. She has an amazing voice. She was obviously focusing on delivering a strong vocal here, with time she’ll master the performance side whilst still maintaining a strong vocal delivery.

    • IDK December 13, 2012

      right

  43. Constructive Criticism December 12, 2012

    I’m not here for this.
All that hype and she still isn’t the top 10 female vocalist still…It was ok and that’s it.
F*** the excuses..this chick is 35 or 36 and has been singing for years. Nerves should be a thing in the past. She was flat the first verse and pitchy the rest of the song. Don’t dare bring Beyonce in this. Beyonce may get on my nerve but Beyonce will blow Tamar out of the water and then some. Hell the mama’s would kill Tamar alone. I’ll keep my ears open and give Tamar a chance. But that #1 on iTunes has yet to transcend to the billboards where it only matters. At this point Toni is still the better vocalist. Her tone, notes, consistency, phasing, and overall performances are just better than tamar’s. High voices don’t equate to better singing simpletons…there is more to singing that high notes.

  44. Orlando December 13, 2012

I love Tamar but the fact it this performances sucked. A couple of good note out of a 3-4 min song is not acceptable. She sounded forced & harsh.
