Beyonce Talks Money, Music & Making Love With ‘GQ’

Published: Thursday 10th Jan 2013 by David

After a number of its snaps surfaced online earlier than scheduled, GQ Magazine wasted no time in pushing the release of their tell all Beyonce spread forward, as to meet demand by her fans…and critics alike.

Today, that spread became available to the above, and marks the star’s most telling interviews to date. Telling, in ways which see her speak openly on her fifth studio album, her greatest fears…and making love to her husband Jay Z. Believe us when we say that this is one piece you do not want to miss out on.

Honest-Bey below…

Via GQ:

“Beyoncé is ready to receive you now. From the chair where she’s sitting, in the conference room of her sleek office suite in midtown Manhattan, at a round table elegantly laden with fine china, crisp cloth napkins, and take-out sushi from Nobu, she could toss some edamame over her shoulder and hit her sixteen Grammys, each wall-mounted in its own Plexiglas box. She is luminous, with that perfect smile and smooth coffee skin that shines under a blondish topknot and bangs.

Today she’s showing none of the bodaciously thick, hush-your-mouth body that’s on display onstage, in her videos, and on these pages. This is Business Beyoncé, hypercomposed Beyoncé—fashionable, elegant, in charge. She’s wearing the handiwork of no fewer than seven designers, among them Givenchy (the golden pin at her neck), Day Birger et Mikkelsen (her dainty gray-pink petal-collar blouse), Christian Louboutin (her pink five-inch studded heels), and Isabel Marant (her floral pants). She does not get up—a video camera has already been aimed at her face and turned on—so you greet her as you sit down.

You have an agreed-upon window of time. Maybe a little more, if she finds you amusing. You’re here to talk about her big post-baby comeback (Blue Ivy, her daughter with Jay-Z, is a year old), which Beyoncé is marking in classic Beyoncé fashion: with a Hydra-headed pop-cultural blitzkrieg. This month, two weeks after she headlines the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVII, she will premiere an HBO “documentary”—more like a visual autobiography—about herself and her family that she financed, directed, produced, narrated, and stars in. This is a woman, after all, who’s sold 75 million albums, just signed a $50 million endorsement deal with Pepsi (her flawless visage will festoon actual cans of soda), and will soon embark on a world tour to promote her fifth solo album, as yet untitled, due out as early as April. Who wouldn’t want to know how she gets the job done? “I worked so hard during my childhood to meet this goal: By the time I was 30 years old, I could do what I want,” she says. “I’ve reached that. I feel very fortunate to be in that position. But I’ve sacrificed a lot of things, and I’ve worked harder than probably anyone I know, at least in the music industry. So I just have to remind myself that I deserve it.” Anytime she wants to remind herself of all that work—or almost anything else that’s ever happened in her life—all she has to do is walk down the hall.

There, across from the narrow conference room in which you are interviewing her, is another long, narrow room that contains the official Beyoncé archive, a temperature-controlled digital-storage facility that contains virtually every existing photograph of her, starting with the very first frames taken of Destiny’s Child, the ’90s girl group she once fronted; every interview she’s ever done; every video of every show she’s ever performed; every diary entry she’s ever recorded while looking into the unblinking eye of her laptop. “Stop pretending that I have it all together,” she tells herself in a particularly revealing video clip, looking straight into the camera. “If I’m scared, be scared, allow it, release it, move on.

I think I need to go listen to ‘Make Love to Me’ and make love to my husband.” Beyoncé’s inner sanctum also contains thousands of hours of private footage, compiled by a “visual director” Beyoncé employs who has shot practically her every waking moment, up to sixteen hours a day, since 2005. In this footage, Beyoncé wears her hair up, down, with bangs, and without. In full makeup and makeup-free, she can be found shaking her famous ass onstage, lounging in her dressing room, singing Coldplay’s “Yellow” to Jay-Z over an intimate dinner, and rolling over sleepy-eyed in bed.

This digital database, modeled loosely on NBC’s library, is a work in progress—the labeling, date-stamping, and cross-referencing has been under way for two years, and it’ll be several months before that process is complete. But already, blinking lights signal that the product that is Beyoncé is safe and sound and ready to be summoned— and monetized—at the push of a button. And this room—she calls it her “crazy archive”—is a key part of that, she will explain, so, “you know, I can always say, ‘I want that interview I did for GQ,’ and we can find it.” And indeed, she will be able to find it, because the room in which you are sitting is rigged with a camera and microphone that is capturing not just her every utterance but yours as well. These are the ground rules: Before you get to see Beyoncé, you must first agree to live forever in her archive, too. ··· It stands to reason that when a girl owns her every likeness, as Beyoncé does, it can make her even more determined to be perfect.

(Beyoncé isn’t just selling Beyoncé’s music, of course; she’s selling her iconic stature: a careful melding of the aspirational and the unattainable.) So when she’s on tour, every night she heads back to her hotel room with a DVD of the show she’s just performed. Before going to sleep, she watches that show, critiquing herself, her dancers, her cameramen. The next morning, everyone receives pages of notes. But Wait, What About Her Music? A few words from Beyoncé on her upcoming album, for which she’s already recorded about fifty songs.—A.W On her collaborators: “I’ve been working with Pharrell and Timbaland and Justin Timberlake and Dream. We all started in the ’90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us.” On songwriting: “I used to start with lyrics and then I’d find tracks—often it was something I had in my head, and it just so happened to go with the melody. Now I write with other writers. It starts with the title or the concept of what I’m trying to say, and then I’ll go into the booth and sing my idea. Then we work together to layer on.” On the album’s influences: “Mostly R&B. I always have my Prince and rock/soul influences. There’s a bit of D’Angelo, some ’60s doo-wop. And Aretha and Diana Ross.”

On her inspirations: “Even the silliest little thing that you hear on the radio, it comes from something deeper. ‘Bootylicious’ was funny, but it came from people saying that I had gained weight and me being like, ‘I’m a southern woman, and this is how southern women are.’ My motivation is always to express something or to heal from something or to laugh and rejoice about something.” “One of the reasons I connect to the Super Bowl is that I approach my shows like an athlete,” she says now. “You know how they sit down and watch whoever they’re going to play and study themselves? That’s how I treat this. I watch my performances, and I wish I could just enjoy them, but I see the light that was late. I see, ‘Oh God, that hair did not work.’ Or ‘I should never do that again.’ I try to perfect myself. I want to grow, and I’m always eager for new information.” She loves being onstage, she says, because it is the one time her inner critic goes silent. “I love my job, but it’s more than that: I need it,” she says. “Because before I gave birth, it was the only time in my life, all throughout my life, that I was lost.” She means this in a good way: When her brain turns off, it is, frankly, a relief. After drilling herself, repeating every move so many times, locking them in, she can then afford not to think. “It’s like a blackout. When I’m onstage, I don’t know what the crap happens. I am gone.” Solange, Beyoncé’s little sister (and an increasingly famous singer in her own right), says it has always been this way: “I have very, very early-on memories of her rehearsing on her own in her room.

I specifically remember her taking a line out of a song or a routine and just doing it over and over and over again until it was perfect and it was strong. At age 10, when everybody else was ready to say, ‘Okay, I’m tired, let’s take a break,’ she wanted to continue—to ace it and overcome it.” It’s hard to believe it, given what Beyoncé grew up to be, but as a girl she was shy. These days, she says that Sasha Fierce, the lusty alter ego—part smolder, part fury—that she invented in her first solo video (2003’s “Crazy in Love”) to coax herself out of her own shell, has been fully integrated into her personality. Part girl next door, part mistress of the universe, Beyoncé now exudes a hip-thrusting sensuality that can be a little…intimidating. She’s hot, no doubt, but her eminence, her independence, and her ambition make some label her cool to the touch. Her allure lies in the crux of that tension—on the meridian between wanting her unabashedly curvaceous body and knowing that she’s probably right when she says, to borrow from her song “Bootylicious,” that you really aren’t ready for all that jelly.

Back in the day, the thing that made her fiercest was protecting her younger sibling. Solange recalls how Beyoncé defended her when they were teens. “I can’t tell you how many times in junior high school, how many boys and girls can say Beyoncé came and threatened to put some hands on them if they bothered me,” Solange says with a laugh. Beyoncé says she harnessed that same temper to bolster her nerve and fuel her work. “I used to like when people made me mad,” she says in the HBO documentary, remembering her suburban Texas childhood, which was shaped (some would say cut short) by her determination to be a star. “I’m like, ‘Please piss me off before the performance.’ I used to use everything.”

As Jay-Z rapped of Beyoncé at the beginning of her 2006 hit “Déjà Vu,” “She about to steam. Stand back.” “You know, equality is a myth, and for some reason, everyone accepts the fact that women don’t make as much money as men do. I don’t understand that. Why do we have to take a backseat?” she says in her film, which begins with her 2011 decision to sever her business relationship with her father. “I truly believe that women should be financially independent from their men. And let’s face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define value. They define what’s sexy. And men define what’s feminine. It’s ridiculous.” Now she says, “You know, when I was writing the Destiny’s Child songs, it was a big thing to be that young and taking control. And the label at the time didn’t know that we were going to be that successful, so they gave us all control. And I got used to it. It is my goal in life to be that example. And I think it will, hopefully, trickle down, and more artists will see that. Because it only makes sense. It’s only fair.”

There ain’t no use being hot as fish grease, she seems to understand, if someone else wields the spatula and holds the keys to the cash register. But if you can harness your own power and put it to your own use? Well, then there are no limits. That’s what the video camera is all about: owning your own brand, your own face, your own body. Only then, to borrow another Beyoncé lyric, can girls rule the world. And make no mistake, fellas: Queen Bey is comfortable on her throne. “I now know that, yes, I am powerful,” she says. “I’m more powerful than my mind can even digest and understand.”

I have seen all the pictures, including one, where she is 100% copying rih, wearing a white shirt opened revealing her flat breast – you can even see her n******. The struggle to compete with Rih and copy her every move. This shoot was lensed by Terry Richardson and he is famous for working with Rihanna.

LOL look at how fat her thighs are. She is very fat woman, cannot believe she is 31.

This rihanna and Kate moss cover is coming in the next few weeks…watch it s*** on beyonce to hell

  13. RoyalKev January 10, 2013

    Boss! Boss! Boss!

Beyonce is the ultimate diva in so many ways. Sometimes I wonder how do Bey deal with all the pressures, hate, attention, etc … Then I realize that this woman stays aware, focus and wise enough to counter all the opposition. She’s in control and that’s what amazes me! I just admire her for all of that!

  14. TheTruth January 10, 2013

Honestly, after reading that, I respect her so much more. Wow, I might have to cop this issue.

    • Flop Cheeta Whora gave Rob an STD from her 20 guys January 10, 2013

The reason why she is STILL to scared to even at least send a song to radio, is cos On every chart, her number 1 rival has 2 songs or the charts. Here in the USA, on BB HOT 100, Pour it up and Diamonds are slaying and they barely have videos or promoted. Stay is the song WW. Bey can strip naked and do a s** tape . Her music career is over and reading the comments, the GP do not know, or give a s*** that she is trying to make a comeback.

No one is even talking about her song or SB in the GQ, only her black fans are the only ones clinging on with bloody nails. LOL LOL Rih is practically laying low, with no video to her new single and YET SHE IS GLOBALLY SLAYING, while beyonce is looking really thirsty and desperate.

Also, If you are gonna retouched the pics make sure you have a good slim body in real life. I have seen pics of Rih clubbin last night……Look even more slimmer and toned. See the difference?

      • Fierce P**** January 10, 2013

If she was scared of rivalry, don’t you think she would have resorted to corny pop music to get her s*** to sell in this music climate? But she’s doing the same r&b. Obviously she doesn’t care.

    • truth(slayer of icki funky ass stans B****!!) January 10, 2013

Fame: Rih – her number 1 rival,

    • Flop Cheeta Whora gave Rob an STD from her 20 guys January 10, 2013

A lot of people hate on her cos she is overrated. Many whites were saying she just fat woman who screams and I agree. I do not think she can sing as good as Teena Marie or mariah and to me, she is not pretty. I do not think women of that huge size are drop dead gorgeous, I have seen Beyonce in real life and she is PLUS SIZE. To me, that is yucky.

      • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ you) January 10, 2013

Plus size is size 12 & over. She is not plus size. She is at least a 6.

      • Flop Cheeta Whora gave Rob an STD from her 20 guys January 10, 2013

She is fat. She is not slim or curvy. She is fat.

        Slim – Jessica Alba

Curvy – Salma Hayek or Sophia Vegara

        Fat – Beyonce

Even in this photo, she looks fat, and the pics of her at NYE, she WAS HUGE

  21. King B>Rihanna January 10, 2013

I absolutely love her inspirations for the album but Bey don’y copy and paste, take the inspiration from the greats and make it your own and make it greater. Also you have to modernize that same sound because the inspirations you named would not work for this era in music.

  22. Jay Jay January 10, 2013

Thats the difference betwn riri and bey

one sells the unattainable and the other the dream/possibilities.

this single better be the ish, i want to have no choice but love it, havent had that with a bey song in a long time

    • Madame January 10, 2013

If it was unattainable how come its being achieved?

    • Loyalty January 10, 2013

You sound ignorant. I know who you are directing the ‘unattainable’ at because you are a Rihanna stan. Beyonce is in fact doing the complete opposite. Women can achieve great things, we are not just talking about being a popstar, its simply setting yourself goals and aspirations to be a business woman. That could be simply owning your own resteraunt or a beauty salon, Beyonce is selling a positive dream, Rihanna sells the dream rock and roll life style.

  26. Lax January 10, 2013

On A Serious Note Beyonce is Talented, Beautiful and S***, Mother
Wife, Sister and Daughter and Loved the World Over and Yes even By Many in
The Navy But Jayz Now we all can see that Marrying One of the HOTTEST CHICKS IN THE game and Shes wearing Your Chain and ALL. JAYZ You even got Beyonce Talking about Her S** Life with you, now that lets Us all know that things are great between the two of you and you will get to be the Billionaire You have Night Mares
About. But JAY Don’t you think its about time you do something amazing for the others that work for you and even RIHANNA Who got you with a bigger pay check, the car at christmas was great gift,,, but its PASS time for a Huge Endorsement deal Jayz I along with MANY, MANY OTHERS R WATCHING CLOSE TO SEE HOW YOU HANDLE THE OTHER’S WHO YOU REPRESENT, SON!!!! AND WPRK FOR YOU AND IT’S NOT LIKE RIHANNA ISN’T DOING HER PART BECAUSE IT’S A FACT THAT RIHANNA CAN STAND TOE, TO TOE WITH YO BED PARTNER AND NEVER BREAK A SWEAT, AND THE WORLD KNOW THIS AND SO DO YOU JAZ, SHAWN CARTER!!!!

  30. Rey January 10, 2013

She is a perfect example of what women in the industry and women in general should try to be. Independent, driven and confident. Beyonce truly does it all and negative shots at her at beauty and persistence are clearly signs of jealousy. She is the ultimate artist.

  31. sugaranice January 10, 2013

I am glad Beyonce is returning to her R&B roots…truthfully her BEST ALBUM was her 1st ALBUM…

    • TYER* January 10, 2013

      i still think IAM… was

    • Fierce P**** January 10, 2013

All of her albums have been r&b influenced tho and she’s never even done that electro pop s***. People only saying DIL was her best cuz it sold that best but truthfully only songs I liked on that album were crazy in love, dangerously in love and baby boy. But B’day had shaking something and working up a sweat. I loved when she brung out sasha fierce. It’s flamboyant, bold, fierce and I love it.

  32. Flop Cheeta Whora gave Rob an STD from her 20 guys January 10, 2013

She is very dynamo. Hardworking, business savvy and talented. That is why I give props to rih for managing to take on beyonce, at the tender age of 24 and beat her.

When u read this impressive interview, you would think that NO BLACK GIRL could f*** with her. So, rih has really done the unthinkable and she deserves credit, cos before Rih, no black girl ( Alcia, Brandy, keyshia. Kelly, Millian, Ciara etc ) could not f*** with Bey in Music, film and fashion.

But for Rih to come in the game and rock Music, Fashion,Movies, TV and FILM, as well as pop culture is feat. She only 24 and her voice is a lot weaker than Bey.

    • Lax January 10, 2013

@FLOP CHEETA ME TOO, And beside that I still have not figured out why many are so Bitter with Rihanna for working hard as she can. Wgile I also know that Rihanna isn’t Beyonce But on the same Token Beyonce isn’t Tina Turner Either but Beyonce is Inspired by Tina, and no one knocks Her for that Yet Rihanna can’t even get a F**”n Break,,,strange to say the least and many see the Rih Hate as the Fact that Rihanna is compared to Beyonce more then any other Artist in the Game…And Rih got Jay Hired as Her Manger,,,,Even the Music, News Outlets and Blogs are always Comparing Rihanna get off Her Ass and make shyt Happen attitude to Beyonce Work Ethics,,,amazing,,,,and the Rihanna Navy loves the Hell out of the comparison because We all know that Rihanna is a “HBIC”,,,

Rihanna is Beyonce competition. Rihanna has surpass Beyonce as an international star. I hate they compare the two, its like they have to downgrade Rihanna to uplift Beyonce. They were having polls yesterday about who is the sexier, but I know Beyonce picture is so fake, she doesn’t look like that know. If you seen her recently on the boat in shorts she is much bigger and on New Years eve show she did. The reason I like Rihanna is because she is real, she has flaws and isn’t afraid to show it. Beyonce try to be perfect and is fake.

      • Kerri January 10, 2013

Total B******* @Zania. I have never heard so much nonsense. And I am not even a Bey stan

      • Fierce P**** January 10, 2013

Yes tell em. Zania: another deluded riherpes stan. She always writes the stupidest s***. They keep saying she is fat and photoshopped. I’ve seen the pics on tumblr and she looks like the same size. Where as people like Adele and Xtina who a lot more chubbier, it would be easily noticeable when they get photoshopped.

    • Stans Make Me LOL January 10, 2013

@Flop, I do hear you, ppl should be giving Rihanna props for her achievements against Bey, but to say that Rihanna has surpassed is REACHING. In 10- 15 years time no one is going to remember who had more number 1’s on the charts, they are going to remember the talent, the time defying songs, and the iconic performances, and I have to say Beyonce has this ON LOCK over Miss Fenty.

  33. MK January 10, 2013

Sooo glad shes sticking to what she enjoys and not jumping on the euro dance sound unlike most people! I was almost certain she was gonna do that this era. Love Beyonce, wouldnt consider myself a stan but I respect her more than anyone else out right now.

They do not evens seem to care that there is no single on radio. If JT single goes to radio 1st…. The duet between JT and BEY will benefit JT more than Bey, WHO IS LOST IN RIH SHADOW,

Rihanna work ethics are always drawing Comparison to Beyonce’s Work Ethics,,,

A.B. @balmaxbesos wrote, “Beyonce’s February GQ cover is something else. God bless this beautiful woman,” and then the Rihanna comparisons began. @jameelajamil wrote, “Woah! Look out Rhianna… Beyonce is on the naked bandwagon…#iamabsolutelyreadyforthisjelly.

Rihanna posed in a similar fashion for last month’s GQ cover except she was wearing even less, with only a leather jacket on. Fans are inevitably comparing the two singers but its’ hard to pick a winner with these two beauties.

There is a lot more Queen B to see in the upcoming months with her singing the national anthem at the Presidential inauguration and performing at the Super Bowl halftime show where 100 fans will join her onstage. This magazine is only a sneak peek at the full spread which GQ plans to reveal in it’s entirety on January 15

  41. J.Alexander January 10, 2013

You can tell Beyonce has been around buisness savy men all her life that are very career orientated her father and her husband the main examples. Shes very in control and a great example of how 21st century women should strive to be in terms of being capable of multiple success. THAT is the definition of a real bad b**** when you can manage yourself, your business and be a mother at the same time! A lot of people underestimate her.

  45. Drea January 10, 2013

Im a big fan of Bey and am very inspired by her work ethic. Im so glad she challenges herself and always wants to be better. Other artists should take note and fight hard to b in control of their careers. Some artists that were out n the 90s even before Bey still dont have full control of their careers and their album sales or consistency in putting out music is affected b/c they have to wait on the label or their managers to make decisions. Thats craziness. It’s like, you have this much legacy, and other people are still controlling your career? Now I don’t like that Beyonce says that she works harder than anyone she knows in the music industry. That’s arrogant to say. She might b the hardest working but she should leave that for others to point out and admire abt her. And just b/c some dont have as much success as she has had, that doesnt mean they dont work just as hard as her to get that success. Also, some artists only focus on vocals and not dancing and dramatic costumes and lights in their concerts, which is fine. But just b/c they dont have all that, that doesnt mean their concert is any less great or they didnt work just as hard. They may have worked just as hard or even harder on their vocals. Artists have different styles and ways of performing for preparing for a show. Some things in a show that are important to Bey may not be as important to another artist. Every artist is different and many work hard and solely focus on what is important to them.
Now Bey is the only artist I know that still uses lots of live instruments on her albums and other artists need to take note. That is one thing among other things that makes her stand out and she is to be respected for it. Nothing wrong with patting urself on the back for the hard work, but leave most of the patting to others so they can admire you.

  46. EdwardPonton January 10, 2013

That was a great interview. She one of the best to do this s*** and that’s thanks to the people who paved the way for her so that she can learn from their success and mistakes. Beyonce isn’t just a great artist but she appears to have a great mindset in general.

        4 – 2.8mi

        MOTS – 1.5mi (LOWER by 1.3mi)
        AGLM – 3.5mi after 6-7 years
        RR – 3mi after 3-4 years

“I’ve been working with Pharrell and Timbaland and Justin Timberlake and Dream. We all started in the ’90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us.”..On the album’s influences: “Mostly R&B. I always have my Prince and rock/soul influences. There’s a bit of D’Angelo, some ’60s doo-wop. And Aretha and Diana Ross.”

Sound like she trying to go back to DIL days but given the current musical climate this album will be a commercial disappointment just like 4. No one cares about R&B these days. If your not pop or country you don’t stand a chance of selling.

I like that she always challenges herself and never takes the easy way out. Stick to the music you love girl, because at the end of the day it always shows when an artist genuinely enjoys what they do because it comesacross in the quality of performance. So many ‘singers’ just perform without the passion now its like they are literally just molded products of their record label. Its funny cos I study business managment and her name casually came up the other day in class, you are building up a good repertoire for yourself that goes way past being just an ‘it’ girl.

BOSS B**** = *NO* top 10 hits BUT debut at NUMBER ONE with 313,000 copies the first week JUST BECAUSE of your name.

BOSS B**** = R&B album released during the electro-pop craze that sells 3 million worldwide JUST BECAUSE of your name.

King B doesn’t need the Hot 100 and the latest musical craze to sell and remain relevant. She’s already proved herself time and time again. Even if she never got another #1 single in her life, she’ll still be more influential and more respected as a performer than many artists who rely on recycled beats and hair color changes and crazy costumes and gimmicks to remain popular.

    • BEYHIVE MEMBER. January 10, 2013

Beyonce at 31(40 to her haters)>>Riri at 24!
The navy has to be one of the most delusional…I mean dumbest stan bases ever brought into existence. She has all that hype but cant even push 3million albums in any country let alone the united states. Her only saving grace is that she has ruled the singles charts.
If you’re a beyonce fan and thinks these pics are riri inspired than you are really not a fan. Beyonce has been posing like this since 2003.
Here’s hoping that this year puts an end to this terrible pop crap we have gotten from these artist since 2007.
I hope she slays..To shut the navy up….Beyonce could go diamond and you b****** still would hate.

  71. TinaMinaj January 10, 2013

This article made me appreciate what she does even more. Her work ethic and drive is just incredible. Inspires me as a person to work harder. If more artists took a cue from her they would be better at what they do.

The haters in this post just look ridiculous… Instead of hating on Bey for her hard work, tell your fave to work harder and build their own legacy, not trying to ride off of Bey’s legacy…

  72. Mely B January 10, 2013

“…But I’ve sacrificed a lot of things, and I’ve worked harder than probably anyone I know, at least in the music industry. So I just have to remind myself that I deserve it….”

I stopped reading at this point, rolled my eyes & sighed, “b**** please”. Everybody in this industry works hard & sacrifices. She may work hard(er) due to the opportunities she was given & I’m not trying to take away from that but I am truly well sick & tired of hearing her talk about how hard she works, like no one else does.

    • TinaMinaj January 10, 2013

  73. mc the place to be! January 10, 2013

“I’ve worked harder than anyone in this industry ” what a slap in so many peoples faces and not just artist everyone that’s behind the scenes your band you think playing an instrument and learning how to play the notes in a short amount of time ain’t hard! Your crew who does the lights and makes the props and do all the necessary technical greatness so your show can be the best for your fans and I’m sure you have plenty of assistants who do a lot for you just customer they aren’t on stage singing and dancing at the same time doesn’t mean they don’t work hard without all of these people including the person who actually signed you where would you be? yea Beyonce you work hard but they are people who work just as hard if not twice because they want you to succeed in everything I would expect this comment from her fans not her! Her humble nature went straight out the window I can’t even imagine how this woman will be like when she’s 60

    • Gina January 10, 2013

Did you actually read the rest of the article to get more a jist where she was coming from?

    • HoneychildPlease January 10, 2013

Yeah that’s what i was thinking…but her stans will kiss her ass no matter what. she came off as a fake bish it actually made me like her less

    • TinaMinaj January 10, 2013

She works hard and it shows. Hate her if you want but just appreciate how hard she works to put forward a great performance each time. Even her dancers say she works harder than all of them so please get informed before making ignorant comments….

P.S If there’s someone working harder than she is and still can’t put on a show half as good as her then they should HANG IT UP! FLAT SCREEN!!

But I just a couple of questions like why is it question on rather bey had baby due to how she looks but, a VS model can have a baby and be back on the the runway 6wks and be praised to high heaven. And why does she have to be coping rihanna when janet and madonna, were doing it first. So who is rhi coping she’s not the first and want be the last. And no I’m not a stan I luv them both equally. I rhi on twitter and have her as a friend on fb same with bey

I’m sorry but this article did not make me like her. One thing this b**** sounds cocky as f***!! So you worked harder than anyone you know, than they must be some lazy ass bishes you surround yourself with…SMH seems to think money is the only way to be successful, and that is not the truth. What makes you people think that the same bish you can barely speak a word of proper English would be as successful as she is money wise…let’s see she basically surrounds herself with a good business team. People this is still a business so of course she wants to look a certain way to the public when it isn’t exactly that way behind closed doors…when beyonce is able to read a book live, than that is when i will believe she is capable of being a boss bish..She just sounds so f****** cocky!! Listen i am so for women being bosses i salute them in this man dominated industry, but h** don’t be stepping on other people’s accomplishments to make your ass look better….i thought beyonce was humble???? well the bish sure doesn’t sound that way in this reading

Everyone knows you already dislike her whats new? Nobody wants you to like her dear, thats your opinion.

    • Vintage (aaliyah fan) January 10, 2013

LOL! this whole essay on why you dislike a popstar #random. Do you think she really cares? Er no. Dont get your blood pressure raised on someone you dont know sweety.

    • Fierce P**** January 10, 2013

Okay ur a hater but ur comments sorta make me laugh. Seriously. Okay she made that ONE comment about working harder than anyone she knows but it’s not like she bragged the rest of the article how great she was. She is still a humble person but honey if you put on work like her u r gonna think u r the s***. Let’s be honest? And u already do claiming u look better than bey on the other post??

  76. Kate Middleton January 10, 2013

ghetto cheap low budget shoot. she looks really fat at the thighs with no definition to her calves, i guess its due to photoshopping off her cankles.

    • Fierce P**** January 10, 2013

      b**** shut up.

  77. Everyone’s A Critic January 10, 2013

  82. Kate Middleton January 10, 2013

for the so-called destiny’s child reunion, i believe she wants to use them now when its beneficial to her. what about when she performed all destiny’s child songs alone?

secondly destiny’s child is sooo 90’s this is new era and new style only the timeless can do anything at anytime. destiny’s child NOT!!!!

    • Loyalty January 10, 2013

Girl sit its just an album they are not reuniting. Theyre all getting paid.

    • Fierce P**** January 10, 2013

H**, it doesn’t matter if something is sooo “90’s” ppl still like to listen to classics that why GREAT musicians make essential and greatest hits albums for the fans. And Destiny’s Child dominated the charts back then before Rihanna was ever known of so just DEAL.

  83. Naomi January 10, 2013

Youtube facts tweeted ‘Beyonce has increased searches for monthly men’s magazine #GQ on YouTube/Google by thousands in the last 24hrs’. Looks like a lot of people disagree with yall going HAM on her looks lol.

    • Naomi January 10, 2013

    • Loyalty January 10, 2013

Really lool. That b**** slaps the haters.

  84. Vintage (aaliyah fan) January 10, 2013

  86. mc the place to be! January 10, 2013

And never mind I just checked most of the comments are strictly negative oops!

  87. Nancy January 10, 2013 Photoshop where? she is fit and anyone who believes differently will deal… She’s not threatened, nor copying anyone. She’s always shown a s*** side, we just haven’t seen it in a while. Look at any other woman in the entertainment industry who had a child and/is married: THEY got their body body cause it’s their JOB to look good as female entertainers. Everyone’s just mad because they thought beyonce was going to tone herself down after childbirth- nope why should she? If i had her body @ her age, money, life, etc, I would be flaunting it too.

  88. Ayo January 10, 2013

I don’t know what is with Beyonce because I have a lot of respect for and her hustle and I think she is very beautiful but I can’t seem to put my finger on it I’ve just never connected to her personality, but she’s winning so good for her.

  89. remmy January 10, 2013

for all those saying she was Photoshopped to hell check out her tumbler page she just added a new pic and her body looks the same (please don’t misunderstand me, yes she was Photoshopped but you can tell by the tumbler pic that the GQ cover wasn’t over processed)

    Bey looks good…that is all

    • Fierce P**** January 10, 2013

She’s skinny as F***. Riherpes stans are mad and wish their bodies could look just as good as hers!

  90. didureallysaythat?? January 10, 2013

Sybil you are doing the most. It’s time to confess your love for bey now.

  92. Kate Middleton January 10, 2013

she digitally alters her pics on instagram or tumblr. check pics of her on stage and about.

  93. Maestro J* January 10, 2013

Entertainers alike should take note from MRS. CARTER. She OWNS herself, whereas alot of these other artist are OWNED BY THE LABEL… She picks her style her songs her image and as an ARTIST thats what its all about representing YOUR TRUE SELF. Say what you will but she’s EARNED her place atop of the food chain. ALL HAIL THE QUEEN

  94. ok January 10, 2013

Hey did you guys know that a study was done comparing intelligence to the music people listen to? Needless to say, Beyonce had the dumbest fans lmao

  95. quetta January 11, 2013

I really can’t get over the fact that she hates her performances. Then again she is a perfectionist. Loved the interview and may she do amazing thid era because she truly deserves it. I see people are really pressed by that “I work harder than MOST people I kmow, atleast in the industry that is”

  96. diva January 11, 2013

Beyonce is the baddest boss in the industry for females that is just a fact hate it or love it, yes she is not humble but she doesn’t care if you agree. I’m not even a Beyonce fan I’m a Kelly fan but I recognize Drive when I see it. She isn’t miss congeniality. But entertainment wise she always delivers . Can’t wait for the 2013 superbowl

  97. Ddeejjj January 16, 2013

    Beyoncé I need new music!
