Nas Praises Azealia Banks & Nicki Minaj / Opens Up On Frank Ocean

811ca02fa018dccd86025314ac900b7b Nas Praises Azealia Banks & Nicki Minaj / Opens Up On Frank Ocean

It’s safe to say it’s been a rough week for Interscope‘s Azealia Banks, following spats with Perez Hilton and the allegedly racist MC Angel Haze.

However, in what should brighten her mood, Rap icon Nas has declared his love for her material released by both she and ‘Catch Me‘ Rapper Nicki Minaj.

 His words below…

On Female Rappers, he told Huck Magazine:

“I like Azealia Banks, I like Nicki [Minaj]. Those are the girls that are currently in the game.

It is women’s time but women are under the illusion that they’re being blocked, so women have to stop playing man’s game when it comes to the artistic sh-t. They have to just go and do it. Stop worrying about where you fit in. Just go and do it.”

Then on Hip Hop’s reaction to Frank Ocean‘s sexuality baring letter:

“I think hip hop artists realize that there are a lot of things against us and showing some kind of brotherhood is very positive. It’s good to see.”

However, it was thoughts on Hip Hop icons of yesteryear that hit home the hardest. He shared:

“KRS-One said years ago, “Here’s where the problem starts, no heart. Because of that a lot of groups fell apart.” [...] The ones that came up and were just so talented that you didn’t understand what happened to them – a lot of them just didn’t have any heart. [They] wind up on drugs, or become bitter and just talk about people all day. They had no heart. And they make excuses for it.”

We need a hotter sexier black male rapper to come out the closet. Frank Ocean is cool but he a regular joe…kinda unsexy.

    Nas is the GOAT.
Azealia is getting respect from legends at 21 years old. that itself deserves a round of applause.

I feel bad for Iggy Azalea , it seems like she’s always being ignored :/ This year there’s gonna be a lotta competition in female rap , Eve , banks, iggy, and the Queen Nicki are all releasing an album this year. Cool :) #TeamMinaj

She’s gotten praise from Mike Posner, Trey Songz, Cee-Lo, Keri Hilson, and others. Don’t feel bad. And Eve is not competition for anyone. No one was feeling She Bad Bad. And Banks killed her own career. So its really just Iggy, Nicki, and Missy Elliot

I think he’s the wrong person to decide if there is an “illusion” about female rappers being “blocked.” I think a female rapper would honestly know more about that than he would. But he’s on point with the Frank OCean stuff
