With Beyonce ensuring that this year’s Super Bowl is a must-see, music lovers now have even more reason to tune in to the football extravaganza. For, Alicia Keys has been confirmed as the latest act to be bestowed the honor of performing the US National Anthem at the February 3rd event.

According to the Associated Press, Keys will tackle the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ before the thousands in attendance at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans and the hundreds of millions watching at home.
The high-profile slot is undeniably a major coup for Keys – whose new album ‘Girl On Fire’ is holding steady on the charts following its release in November.
More than anything, the slot sees the singer-songwriter joins the elite list of female vocalists who have performed on the grand stage. They include Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Keys’ ‘Put It In A Love Song’ collaborator Beyonce.
