Rita Ora & Rihanna Score BRIT Awards 2013 Nominations / Full Nominations List

Published: Thursday 10th Jan 2013 by Sam

Rita Ora may be working on her second studio album (which also dubs as her US debut), but that hasn’t stopped Roc Nation‘s newest diamond from receiving accolades for her first offering ‘ORA’.

The 22 year old will be beaming tonight after it was announced that she has been nominated twice at the BRIT Awards 2013. Kosovo-born/London-bred Ora is up for Best Newcomer and Best British Single for her chart-topper ‘R.I.P’.

With the show being to the UK what the Grammy’s are to America, it’s an honor most acts work their careers off to achieve.

Check out the full nominations list for the February 20th event below…

It doesn’t matter honey, Rihanna already has two Brit awards for best international female 😉 -2010/2011!

  5. Rita Slays January 10, 2013

    I hope Rita wins everything

  6. aynon January 10, 2013

    So many snubs

Leona should have been up for British Female and Album Of The Year she’s far more deserving than Paloma Faith and Rita Ora.

P!nk should have been up for International Female rather than Cat Power.

Little Mix should be up for breakthrough act.

Tbh I just hope Beyonce performs her a medley and her new single at the BRITs and shows everyone how it’s done.

    • Gina January 10, 2013

She wont shes not nominated why would she go? Next years one maybe.

      • aynon January 10, 2013

To Promote her single and album, if she performs at the BRITs and then airs her Documentary the Sunday After The BRITs it’s a surefire #1 for her and single, it’s one of the most watched events in british TV

    • the real xoxo January 10, 2013

      little mix FLOPPED.

  7. THE GREAT LACEFRONCE. January 10, 2013

    flop

she will flop in the US

  8. I got that good-good January 10, 2013

I think Rita’s cute, and I thought ORA was overall pretty good, even though I felt the material didn’t really suit her voice. I hope the US album has songs that are crafted around her vocals and are not rejected tracks by other singers.

  9. Monstarebel (This FAT B**** is the Star Of TGJ) January 10, 2013

Good for Rita ATLEAST she’s popular somewhere…

Congratulations to Rihanna Rita Lana & Calvin

  10. Monstarebel (This FAT B**** is the Star Of TGJ) January 10, 2013

No noms for Nicki tho?? Smh

  11. ENOUGH ONIKA (0 GRAMMY NOMS…) January 10, 2013

This award show is just as irrelevant as Rita herself….Congrats on the flop award h**!

    • Rita Slays January 10, 2013

Its the biggest award show in the U.K. Try again

      • @PEGGYHYLS5 on instangram January 10, 2013

        Who cares racist show

      • ENOUGH ONIKA (0 GRAMMY NOMS…) January 10, 2013

@RitaSlays Who cares? Who’s gonna ask an artists how many “Brit” Awards they have? Lol. Rihanna shouldn’t even show up, just donate that sh*t to the homeless or something.

      • Rita Slays January 10, 2013

@Enough “Who Cares” well obviously the Brits do since its the biggest award show there.

    • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ you) January 10, 2013

Its the UK equivalent to the Grammy’s.

      • @PEGGYHYLS5 on instangram January 10, 2013

Grammy ain’t that racist they salut musician

      • ENOUGH ONIKA (0 GRAMMY NOMS…) January 10, 2013

        Ooooo The “UK” grammy’s…….

  12. Matthew Charlery-Smith January 10, 2013

Not so sure she’ll win anything. We Brits love stars with personality we can relate to and I’m not so sure Miss Ora has done that for herself. As for claiming they are our Grammy equivalent it’s a shame, as the Grammys are so broad, whereas the Brits are about public opinion and so narrow. They even got rid of the Best Video award!!! Why? Great acts like MJ and the Spice Girls won that award.

    Anyway, congrats to the noms.

    • Gina January 10, 2013

Dont generalise Ritas doing well over here.

  13. JOHNVIDAL January 10, 2013

Half of the list is crap. The Usual
I keep on saying it. Grammys are far from perfect, but it´s the only thing we can rely on when it comes to awards with a bit of common sense and quality music (and I said a bit)

  14. S****** Blonde January 10, 2013

Who cares!….Bowie and Timberlake are back.

  15. Gina January 10, 2013

Some major snubs. These award shows dont rate Nicki at all.

  16. Ryk101 January 10, 2013

    She a flop h**

    • @PEGGYHYLS5 on instangram January 10, 2013

      • ENOUGH ONIKA (0 GRAMMY NOMS…) January 10, 2013

AH Rated R Rihanna, when she had so much potential and her fashion was on point……gone now.

  17. @PEGGYHYLS5 on instangram January 10, 2013

WTF WHAT HAPPEN TO CHRIS BROWN? Nicki Minaj?

  18. xedos January 10, 2013

  19. LIKICA (KELLY CLARKSON – THE VOICE OF GENERATION) January 10, 2013

    Emeli Sande >>> Adele
Adele is great too, but Emeli is better! Go Girl!

    • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ January 10, 2013

      I agree.

  20. the real xoxo January 10, 2013

im only here for Emeli Sande and Plan B tbh.
The BRIT awards have been shite ever since X factor ruined it.

    • JOHNVIDAL January 10, 2013

I don´t really know. This year there is big competition. Great year for movies I think. The successful ones were also great movies for the most part, something that rarely happens lately
Only thing I can smell is the best supporting actress for Anne Hathaway

  22. Vintage (aaliyah fan) January 10, 2013

LOL whats wrong with Rihanna on instagram? She been uploading 32452345532 pictures in the wake of Beyonces GQ rofl.

  23. TAYLOR SWIFTS NUMBER 1 FAN!!! January 10, 2013

INTERNATIONAL FEMALE SOLO ARTIST… Wish Taylor swift would win, but we all know Rihanna is gonna win.

  24. ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ January 10, 2013

Rita got a lot of noms, great for her I guess. Congrats to all the nominees but this list is just………not.

  25. KERCHING January 10, 2013

So what that grape juice is saying
is that people “work their whole lives to achieve”-a best newcomer nomination?
ha ha, yeah cause that make sense

  26. KERCHING January 10, 2013

By the way the Brits are probably one of, if not the, most political award competitions
in the world. Next to the B.E.T. Awards and the MOBO’s

  27. MELODY2012 January 11, 2013

If Rita is nominated that says a lot about the award show itself

  28. Rachaels Daily Coupons April 9, 2013

I wanted to thank you for this very good read!! I certainly loved every little bit of it. I’ve got you saved as a favorite to check out new stuff you post…
