Rihanna’s single “We Found Love” was released on September 22nd. The song has peaked at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 making this Rihanna’s eleventh number one record. Legends Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder only had 10 number ones in their careers taking Rihanna one notch above them! Rihanna finds herself tied with Whitney Houston and one below Madonna and The Supremes.
Other artists with plenty of number one records are Michael Jackson, with 12, Elvis Presley who has 17, Mariah Carey has a cool 18, and The Beatles dominate with 20! Rihanna has so many years in her career to come; we can easily see her placing in the top 3 slots if not overtaking The Beatles.
The pattern for Rihanna’s success has also lead to award titles. Rihanna’s songs climb charts earning her the honor of racking up 20 top 10’s faster than any solo artist. It has taken Rihanna six years and two months to get here which is 3 months faster than Madonna. She is the fourteenth artist with the title and fifth lady.
