Cover Star: Sasha Allen Sings Whitney Houston’s ‘Saving All My Love For You’ (Must See)

Published: Saturday 9th Feb 2013 by Rashad

This week’s That Grape Juice ‘Cover Star‘ comes in the form of an archived performance of powerhouse vocalist Sasha Allen. Watch as the beauty pays homage to Whitney Houston‘s first #1 hit ‘Saving All My Love For You’:

Wow.  Just wow.

To say that Allen did this song justice is a minimalistic review of this awesome showing.  Many-a-reality talent show contestant have tried and failed to cover Whitney’s top hits, but where Sasha succeeds was her ability to make the song without overdoing it.

The melisma, the power, and easy on the eyes?  Sasha would definitely be a fierce competitor for the next generation of top vocal divas.

I come on this site daily and people talk about being slayed, and most times i cut and roll my eyes.

Now this my people is how you get slayed! The tone, effortless, the subtle re-arrangement! It was just all too much that only got better.

I looked her up and couldn’t believe that she has spent her time being relegated to a backing singer for people she can clearly sing better than.

i was rooting for her to win VH1 Divas a few years back, but that other girl Taralyn Ramsey won instead. Sasha would have won but I think she dropped out of the contest or something because she didnt like the record contract that she would have to sign, so she backed away from the deal. Im still wondering why she hasnt had a record deal yet. She could compete with the top vocalists if she was given the chance. Then again, Im sure deals have been offered to her, Im guessing that maybe she would rather be behind the scenes instead of the main artist -___-
