As reported here, ‘No Scrubs’ craftswoman Kandi Burruss has taken her million dollar pen to craft the new Marvin Sapp-enlisted gospel single ‘Stay Prayed Up’.
Burruss has made headlines since the January announcement of the tune’s development as some gospel music fans were unwelcoming (to say the least) of the dildo designing diva delivering new material for gospel radio.
Hear the new song below (teased on Sunday’s episode of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’) and read her response to critics:

Marvin really saved this song. Kandi’s voice is past this time. She should continue to write because her voice is too nasally. It may have worked in the 90s but not now. I like the message and the production. However, Marvin is the only reason I made it through the end of the song.

I liked the song but if I’m honest she should’ve handed this track straight over to Fantasia who would’ve killed it, there was something just grating about Kandi’s voice.

Kandi’s voice….OMG, horrible! It’s nasally, draggy and just flat out unattractive. Why isn’t anyone on her team telling her that she doesn’t have a pleasant voice?

This song is simply amazing. It shows not everyone is meant for R&B. If you choose the calling God has for you only amazing things happens. With this song she will win many hurt souls to the kingdom.

Outstanding!!! Kandi and Marvin did an awesome job. I felt this song from within. The message is awesome, nasally as you may say she SANG that song. Marvin was perfect for this. I shed tears.

Aint no way the people on here hating on Kandi are Christian, cuz if u are, u need to burn in the pitts of hell… she clearly says in the song she knows shes a sinner, but god sees her heart. I think that goes for everyone in any religion or even if ur just spiritual… after a few listen, i can say i love the song… I woke up this morning with this song on my mind… I guess cuz Kandi has sex she should become a devil worshiper or something… Kandi do ur thing… ill support u

Yeah I dunno what happened? Was her voice always like this? The few times I heard her on Xscape notably “Secret” she had that nice high note but yeah I agree with everyone else she sounds nasally, draggy etc…
She should stick to writing…

She openly lives with her boyfriend and sells sex toys which she brags about trying them all and oral sex. This fake is about as prayed up as my female dog Kate. Nioe song though.

One minute she’s being low-life, derogatory, and gossiping on Housewives of Atlanta. Then she’s selling pornographic/sex products, now she’s singing gospel. What is this world coming to? Jesus got to come back soon!!

If God wants to use Kandi to touch lives that’s wonderful, because there are some people that would not have heard that message if it wasn’t her singing it. All you folks criticizing I’m sure you all aren’t perfect. He said he with no sin cast the first stone. Great song Kandi

There is, in the pit of hell the place meant for those who believed not that their sin can be forgiven.she believed and now she(kandi) can’nt b denied where she want to be for eternity(heaven) if she endure, and that what your existance in life is meant for,is to make a decision where u wanna b 4 eternity.d moment u take d step of loosing ur breath,ur power to make dat choice will be collected from you.may God bless his instruments.
