Many will remember Brit singer Gamu for her controversial stint on The X Factor UK‘s 2010 series.
Indeed, who could forget the outrage generated by her sensational axing or the death threats levelled at judge Cheryl Cole for actioning it?! Three years later, we’re sure Gamu will be hoping the answer is “not many”. For, now 21, the Zimbabwe born singer has debuted her first single ‘Shake The Room’ and its accompanying video.
Lifted from her debut album ‘A Love Like This’, the song and parent LP is described as blending the best of the 1960′s Soul with the contemporary kick of today.
Peep the video below and let us know what you think, because we’re still trying to “process” what we just watched. See what we mean below…
Though somewhat demo-ish and bare, the song is fairly catchy and well performed. The video, however, looks like it was shot on her iPhone for a High School project. Just, no.
Still, it’s done the job of thrusting her back into the limelight which is more than can be said for the post-show careers of most reality show competitors.

Omg absolutely love it and her, the fact that she’s zimbabwean makes me like her even more. I’ve been to Zimbabwe before. My mom is originally from South Africa and Zimbabwe is a bordering country of s.a’s. So imma support my fellow southern African sister. Love the video and the song is super catchy! Brightened my day this!
Thanks Sam.
