Upon its release at midnight yesterday, Ciara‘s new single ‘Body Party’ made swift gains and found its way to #2 on iTunes R&B Chart, ‘chart blocked’ by Alicia Keys‘ ‘Girl On Fire‘ whose reign on the tally continues to show no signs of letting up.
Marking new a commercial high for the ‘Overdose’ vocalist, ‘Party’s meteoric rise to the Top 5 will no doubt secure it a favorable position once this week’s Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart is unveiled tomorrow.
A chart, that should see her score her first R&B Top 40 in the nation since 2010’s ‘Ride’, which peaked at #3 there one year after her smash hit single ‘Love Sex Magic‘ peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100- a position many of her fans hope will be afforded to ‘Party’ given time.
Elsewhere, Rihanna joins Cici’s celebrations thanks to her 2012 LP ‘Unapologetic’ which soared to #6 five months after release, by way of 29,000 units moved in the last week. Sales, that bring the project’s combined US digits to 807,000 copies sold.
Meanwhile, her Justin Parker produced cut ‘Stay’ leaps to #6 on the Hot 100, now enjoying US sales of 1,29,000 units shifted since January 7th of this year.

I’m not much of a ciara fan but im going to be real, the only reason why rihanna is doing well is because she sold her soul for that spot, ciara is out there busting ass and she doesn’t even need to sell her self out for fame and fortune to be where she is, if there wasn;t an illuminate and they advertised everyone equaly and evenly Ciara will and would be a heavy threat and force to be reconned with, why? because she is the greatest female dancer of our eara. and rihanna knows this, this is another reason why rihanna feels a little intemidated by ciara by the fact that she can sell well without the help of the illuminati. I’m quite impressed with ciara though im not really into her like that. on the other hand, rihanna is a great singer, shes selling well and i honestly can’t take her seriously for being or become a legend, it just wouldn’t be truly earned, she got tremendous help for her position.
