As earlier reported, Christina Aguilera sprung a surprise on the press last night by turning up at The Voice season 4 premiere.
The diva, who is sitting out the show this season, stopped to talk to the media before sashaying in.
Thankfully, the “what’s your favourite colour” and “do you like long walks in the park” type questions were left on the bench and Xtina was instead quizzed on what we really want to know about — the music!
Watch below as the 32-year-old dishes on her recording plans, ‘Lotus’, and new material…
Watching that, it kinda sorta seems that Christina is all but done with ‘Lotus’ – which would be a shame as the project has all the makings of a Pop comeback.
Still, with the Pitbull headlined/Xtina-assisted ‘Feel This Moment’ officially a top ten on the Hot 100, it seems the singer’s comeback could be piecing itself together. All she needs to do now is ensure she – and her team – become “inspired” in time for her reported return to The Voice later this year.
We’ve just about forgiven her for the lack of ‘Your Body’ performance, now it’s time to redeem her entire everything with an era that really slays – preferably this year.

Hoe don’t come for Avril because she’s been outselling Xtina lately. Goodbye Lullaby has outsold Bionic + Lotus combined. The Best Damn Thing has outsold Back to Basics. Avril ‘s debut album has sold more that Christina’s. Avril has sold more albums than Beyonce as well. So don’t even try with that who is Avril because she slays. And I do really like Xtina.

That is a really nice pic of her that you guys used. Although I’m not a fan of C Aggie anymore due to her nasty entitled attitude, if she busts out another “BEAUTIFUL” type of ballad, I’d listen. Not sure if I’d buy a whole album of hers at this point but I’d support a great single.

I love legend X but if her heart is not 100% percent in this new material, I think she should wait it out.
X should really think about what type of music she wants to make. She’s done silly pop, R & B, throwback 20′s/jazz/soul/with hip-hop influences, and electronic.
Now it’s time to craft a cohesive album with ZERO filler that has a definitive sound. I, personally, do not want another multi-genre album for her. They have not been working. I wish her the best because I adore her.

It really seems to me that she is no longer interested in making and promoting music, which is cool. Fans are happy to wait for good quality music.., Aaliyah’s fans supported a 5 year break, Sade disappears for years at a time, JT, Brandy, D’angelo, Lauryn.., anyone of them has an audience anticipating their work because they wait until it makes sense for them to deliver and promote HARD (even if the latter two have waited beyond all reasonable explanation).., tbh I’d rather that than poor quality music.
Xtina’s ‘if I feel like’ attitude is not conducive with having a successful project, as she’s demonstrating a lack of enthusiasm or commitment with regards her fitness regime, voice care and work ethic. Who knows, perhaps she wanted to promote hard and her label wasn’t feeling it but in truth that is really not what has come across and as a result I’d rather she just disappear, raise her child and come back when EVERYTHING is on point.

record companies never take blame for not standing behind their artist even when it obvious they aren’t. if r c a was encouraging christina to promote and she refused, couldn’t they sue her for not abiding by her contract? most of the time when artists don’t promote it’s because their companies don’t want to take a risk and pony up the dough. the same thing happened to mj with his album ‘ invincible’.

I always thought that Christina had a really good head on her shoulders. She seems like someone that knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. I think she should sit back and enjoy life if that’s what she feel she needs at this moment. She delivers good music that unfairly goes under the radar, which is a shame. I don’t know if she finds recording new music to be a waste of time now or if it’s still something that allows her to feel creative. At the end of the day most artists like the acknowledgment and whether it’s sales or critical acclaim, it does count… perhaps being in the position Christina’s in now she’d rather come back to better odds. In order for that, she might need a hell of a team! Great artists are seriously under appreciated these days!

The issue is that she built her brand on being “sexy” and sorry but most people don’t find fat girls all that sexy. Sure, they can be, but really mostly to certain guys.
