New Lady GaGa ‘FAME’ AD Sparks Firearms Controversy

Published: Wednesday 6th Mar 2013 by David

As an artist with a message fuelled cause, Lady GaGa’s use of violence to articulate her theories of fame have at times seen her work confuse and disturb any unaware of her artistry.

This week, the above happened once again when a never before seen clip pulled from her ‘FAME’ fragrance commercial found its way to YouTube, and sees the Interscope star in what might be her most violent piece of work to date.

So violent, that we’d urge you not to watch if you consider yourself easily shaken.

If not, peep GaGa and her gun in action below…

Sure, while recent events have made the civillians handing firearms and hot and controversial topic, we feel GaGa’s use of the gun was merely symbolic- and really shouldn’t cause offence.

By no means are we saying we didn’t find it disturbing-because we did- however, as is always the case with visionary’s like Germanotta, her work shouldn’t be criticised unless it’s put into context. In this case, the context being the dark and violent side to fame very few acts are brave enough to admit exists.

So, let us know…

What do you make of the clip?

  3. Jam March 6, 2013

Im sorry TGJ but thats just b*******, this ad, is a pointless means to just be contreversal, the fact that this is going to go on Telivision with no real explaination as what its actually about , do you think her retarded little monsters or anyone else is going to get it? its b******* and insensitive, there is violence in movies but they have a rating and even if she did it on tour live its her f****** sho and you’ve come to see it so fair enough but on national telivision where you have no choice but to see this awful, crass piece of nonsence just to show off some f***** perfume! I’m finally convinced that this bitxh is the devil!

  4. My Forehead Tho March 6, 2013

Is this the same irrelevant b**** that faked a injury to get out of performing at empty stadiums?

Isn’t this the same h** that pushed her album back so it would be excluded from the 2014 Grammys to avoid competing against Beyonce and Adele?

    -__-

    • Dossome March 6, 2013

both Adele and Beyonce haven’t released albums yet, your point is invalid..but of course your existence here is based on a woman’s forehead

  5. LADY GAGA March 6, 2013

Well, what do you all actually expect from me?

I’m an ATTENTION-SEEKER, more so than an artist, an always will be.

I’ve stolen from “Madonna, Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, Freddie Mercury, Prince, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Elton John” and COUNTLESS other Pop-Icons, of which I desperately want to be, but I’ve bwen caught out – therefore, meaning, that there is nothing left for me to do because I know that my 15 minutes are soon up.

After ‘Art-FLOP’ FLOPS, what am I going to do?

I can’t wear any more meat-dresses, bird cages on my head, mermaid suits, goat horns or any other Pop-Memorabilia because the world has seen it all and they are getting tired of me. *Wipes Tear*.

My ‘Flop this Flop ball’s FLOPPED and I was effortlessly slated by Adele and Madonna in 2011-2012 by Adele and QUEEN MADONNA, even after dressing as a male crack addict at the VMAS, and I ended up making an excuse regarding a ‘Hip-Injury, just to save myself embarrasment in 2013.

I am a NARCISSISTIC FLOP who really doesn’t give a s*** about the Gay community – why would I want to support male D*** suckers?

I am running out of ideas… Please help me? Beyhive, Navy, Fighters, Katy Cats… HELP. I need you.

      Deaaaaaath!!!!! Lol

  6. fame March 6, 2013

at the end of the day its only a perfume add people always read to much into things

  7. Eye Candy March 6, 2013

What is so controversial about this? How is this any different from what we see in action movies? Leave my Gaga alone, but I will add that the ad is bad. It should’ve been more viewer friendly but I guess she did this for it’s shock factor.

  8. Ugh March 6, 2013

I don’t understand the ad but i must say that the perfume smells really good.

  9. Dossome March 6, 2013

What else is shocking about GaGa?????If you’ve known her these past few yrs, then you know the word ORDINARY is nowhere in her vocabulary…anyway i HATE this ad

  10. mc the place to be! March 6, 2013

I love the perfume but GaGa what’s this s*** just give us artpop so these h*** can shut up!

  11. King B>Rihanna March 6, 2013

It’s Lady Gaga what else do you except?

  12. Mathew March 6, 2013

This dumb b****! She dressed somewhat normal tho.

  13. truth(icki is a KMART, NO GRAMMY NOD, PFRR FLOP, SQUID EYED b****) March 6, 2013

    Meat wearin b****

  14. Truth March 6, 2013

I’ll defend Gaga since none of y’all ignorant n***** will.
First of all this is not a New Fame Ad, it’s a Pulled Ad that wasn’t featured with the real one.
Gaga’s ad for the fame promo had ended. Don’t believe every bashful queen gossip you see on this site.
And lastly why is it that Sam only shows the bad or controversy of Gaga but never her
Humanitarian efforts? She went around the world promoting peace and visiting hospitals and orphanages while
His faves spent their years popping p**** and begging for dollars. Where’s the justice or truth in this site?

    • truth(icki is a KMART, NO GRAMMY NOD, PFRR FLOP, SQUID EYED b****) March 6, 2013

      Gurl shut up

    • Anne March 6, 2013

They rarely report humanitarian efforts even though most performers, even the p-popping ones, have just as many as Gaga.

    • Common Sense March 6, 2013

Good thing it’s the pulled ad since it clearly copied Madonna’s opening gun shot bit after “Girl Gone WIld + Material Girl.”

  15. Holy Hive March 6, 2013

Ok?? And??? GaGa has no shock value anymore…Its sad she has talent but had to rely on gimmicks to stay popular now people are tired of her b.s. i never fell for the gaga hype like everyone else….Every time i look at her all i see is a Madonna knock off

  16. Holy Hive March 6, 2013

I swear gaga is satan himself

  17. CCFAN007 March 6, 2013

GaGa is & always will be trash..

Shes sending her fans to the pits of hell believe that

  18. Lovebird (Beyonce’s Weave) March 6, 2013

Can’t really say much on this, not when there’s gangsta rap still around.

  19. Tisha March 6, 2013

Gaga without controversy is the modern day emperor with no clothes.

She knows full well there is nothing to her without a bunch of distraction to cover up a very boring artist.

  20. Aloys’ World March 6, 2013

That was an awesome video, very blockbuster!
Looking into how she is promoting the fragrance I’d say
it’s deadly! If that is an antonym then it must be
heavenly.. Read it any way u will, she slayed it..

    • Common Sense March 6, 2013

If it was awesome, it’s because Madonna’s already done it.

  21. JOHNVIDAL March 6, 2013

So many ignorant people here. The hate for Gaga is out of control in TGJ (in some crazy commentators who couldn´t face the reality that is Gaga did it bigger than their faves I mean, probably it´s just one using different usernames). I like the ad but I don´t even care. You are all obsessed

    • CCFAN007 March 6, 2013

Why would we show love for satan???

      • Music Soul Harmony March 6, 2013

        F*** u stupid religious Christian.

  22. Josh March 6, 2013

Yet that was the same reason it wasn’t released. Also it obviously has a warning sign in the beginning describing what this should be interpreted as. Do they not know how to read?!

  23. Xadax March 6, 2013

    Madonna

    • Common Sense March 6, 2013

Madonna’s MDNA tour to be exact.

      • DJT March 6, 2013

Exactly!!!! Madonna’s MDNA era was centered around guns that were used as metaphor. Still copying M Gaga? Sad.

  24. THEPINKPRINT (FAF) March 6, 2013

But isn’t her perfume already a top seller? Why is she coming out with another commercial for the same perfume?

    • THEPINKPRINT (FAF) March 6, 2013

nvm… it never was releaed, I guess

      • CHUDDS March 6, 2013

It was released. My sister has it. Unless she’s releasing another version o.0

  25. audreyherbsburn March 6, 2013

we’ve seen much more disturbing in movies that nobody boycotts, so there should be no issue with this, especially considering that they intentionally let viewers know the guns are symbolic, and it’s not a literal message.

  26. BEYONCE CROTCH SPLIT. March 6, 2013

you fuckers are pressed and you need to stay pressed bcse gaga slays ur fave and its evident that yall are scared. plus it was a pulled ad..get over it haters

  27. Kyle March 6, 2013

LOL THIS AD WILL NOT AIR ON TV!!! It was a deleted/never before seen clip that LEAKED… They pulled it for a reason… Chill out people…

  28. opd2 March 6, 2013

Sometimes she just go,s over board with her craziness, tell me now what is the meaning of this.

  29. ENOUGH ONIKA (KMART QUEEN) March 6, 2013

Gaga…what the f*ck was that? That ad had NO correlation with your fragrance, just another cry for attention. #GirlBye

    • Rita is Queen March 6, 2013

      Yaaas clock that T gworl

  30. Rita is Queen March 6, 2013

Who tf would wanna smell like a dirty desperate t***** no thanks ill pass

    • Music Soul Harmony March 6, 2013

Rita is a nobody. Deal b****. Queen? Lol. Who are her subjects? Cheap London prostitutes?

  31. eric March 6, 2013

The only thing she killed in this video was her credibility. She does whatever serves her purpose, even if it contradicts her core messages about love and peace. Lucky for her, her fans will make excuses to keep supporting any and everything she dishes out.

    • Carlitod March 6, 2013

Clearly, if you had any common sense, you’d know this is a message for the ‘dark side’ of fame. Get cho life.

      • eric March 6, 2013

Like I said, her fans would make excuses. The dark side of fame, as you put it, is a reality. We live in a time that people are seeking fame and letting their dark sides materialize into what we saw in Aurora and Newtown. With that reality staring you in the face, how can justify this ad from someone who wants you believe she’s a symbol of peace, love and acceptance? It’s a joke.

  32. POP ROYALTY ( RUDE BOY) March 6, 2013

you Americans know nothing about Violence.

this is art , art has no boundaries , where there’s good , there’s evil and violence , you just can’t be blinded by the good , you also should be aware of the bad side to everything , that is what she wanted to say in her own WAY , FAME has it’s advantages and disadvantages , and after those Melissa/Ciara , Keri hilson/Beyhive posts earlier you should be aware of the bad face of fame !!

different versions of this ad tells a story , and it requires a strong mind to analyse them all , Gaga always make music videos for ppl who think , she won’t give you a J.Lo kind of a perfume ad , that’s gaga , if you like mysterious s*** , you gonna love it , if you like the obvious , you have britney and katy.

i do not find anything wrong in it except for there are a lot of ways to get your idea across without resorting to s*** like that, however reality of FAME has violence in it and she just said that , so…

    • Common Sense March 6, 2013

All I saw was Gaga ripping off Madonna again. When will Gaga be original?

  33. Kev March 6, 2013

I think it was cute. who f***** cares we’ve seen her do s*** like this before. I like how she says “gaga, Lady Gaga”

  34. cullom08 March 6, 2013

    I meant the ad….

  35. Carlitos March 6, 2013

This woman is amazing. She is ART. If this is accepted in movies, then it will be acceptable for anyone else, as well. And that’s why it was done, because it can.

This is a message. A message for the ‘dark side’ of fame.

And PS, if you’re disturbed by this video or find it offensive, then you should have never watched it. It goes to show anyone will do anything just to make a big deal out of nothing.

  36. saetana March 6, 2013

Oh please, way to make a story out of nothing – this is an OUTTAKE from the original video shoot that they decided NOT to include in the final film as it was too violent. Its been around online for ages as well, several months in fact so its really OLD news as well ;o)

  37. mob: the blump reads, the world is mine March 6, 2013

    I LOVE that spiked mask!!

Now on to the vid clip…..b*tch are crazy? 0_o What in the hell does shooting ppl have to do with a perfume? Gaga sit all the way down with crap!

  38. S****** Blonde March 6, 2013

Sam why don’t you make a post about the Little Monsters letter to GLAAD. Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters Blame Madonna For A*** And Protest GLAAD Appearance…

    • Common Sense March 6, 2013

Wouldn’t be surprised. A bunch of punk ass hypocrites.

  39. PRINCE MACHIAVEL March 6, 2013

Llllllooool People On TGJ Really Hate You Lady G, But Guess What, I Love You, Restect Your Talent And I Wish You Nothing But The Best Honey!

    Assss Talabitaaaah B******!!!!!!!!!!

  40. Aryo March 6, 2013

To those saying BTWball flopped. It grossed more than the last rihanna + katy perry + nicki minaj tours combined even with 20dates getting canceled lol. U hoez can Stay mad

  41. DJT March 6, 2013

She’s still copying Madonna?!!! Madonna’s MDNA tour era was centered around guns that were used as metaphor. So sad she follows in Madonna’s shadow and pails in comparison. Even to a 50+ year old Madonna! Good luck with your hip replacement…
