Set to join ‘Schoolin’ Life‘ singer Beyonce, the chart toppers are reportedly scheduled to perform at the event’s opening day which will be on September 13th, days after all three might be expected to grace the 29th Annual MTV Video Music Awards.
Portal Pop Line shares:
“As published in the Journal Notebook According to O Globo on Wednesday, 6, rapper Nicki Minaj and singer P! Nk are committed to the event and will be announced soon. ”The rapper Nicki Minaj, who broke his stick with Mariah Carey on a reality talent show, will be announced in the coming days as another attraction of the Rock In Rio P!nk is also taken for granted in programming.”
Last week, fans of P! Nk mobilized a campaign to bring the festival artist. Currently, the singer, who never came to Brazil, is on the road touring with “The Truth About Love.” The last show is on schedule Sept. 5 in Australia. Thus, there is a compatibility with the festival dates.”
Set to mark the first any of the musicians have performed at the event, Minaj may now join Beyonce in using the record breaking event to push new material due for release this year, with reports of her third studio album being in the works heating up since the launch of her critically acclaimed EP, ‘The Re-Up’.

HAHAHAHA WTF every Rihanna performance is a horrible performance. Beyonce on the other hand is consistent. In all honesty, I’d rather watch Beyonce perform Crazy in Love for a whole two hours. Than watch Rihanna perform a plethora of new songs horribly… as usual. I love Rihanna’s songs but she can’t hold a candle to Beyonce live. I’d take the same “boring” performance over a new one that consist of poor vocals, horrible dancing, and not so good stage presence any day. P!nk has a growing fanbase in Brazil, as does Nicki, but I don’t think they are anywhere near selling out a stadium there just yet, so the ‘Rock In Rio’ festival is perfect and will give them the much needed exposure.
We all know that QUEEN MADONNA and EMPRESS TINA TURNER are the only POP acts who come close to selling out South-American stadiums frequently – next to countless Rock acts.
