It’s only fault- if we’re being really honest- is the song it comes in aid of. For, while it marks brave and far better territory for her creatively, the cut is a little too ‘niche’ to do what it needs to do for Iggy’s brand in the UK.
That doesn’t mean it’s a bad song, but its ‘twerk team’ ready hook and lack of catchy verses will make chart success in the market an uphill struggle.
In short, while the video was perfect, we hope the rest of her album sees her work on crafting radio ready numbers armed with infectious hooks (perhaps performed by a guest vocalist) and a verses that pack a feminine bounce.
