Ciara has gone on record to describe her fifth studio album as her most personal yet, and it seems she’s keen that reflects in its title.
Initially christened ‘One Woman Army’, as of one hour ago, iTunes now has the project simply listed as ‘Ciara’. The official artwork above was also included in the re-tooled listing which came binded with the confirmed tracklisting.
Taking to Instagram once the news begun doing the fan rounds, the dynamo performer posted a confirmation of sorts:

It goes without saying that many will have much to say, yet we think the name change makes so much sense.
Put simply, the false-starts at the beginning of the project somewhat muddied the ‘One Woman Army’ name. So, from our vantage point, it’s smart that Cici is starting afresh with a new lead single (‘Body Party’) and ensuring this project is, at the very least, given a legitimate chance without being impacted by any drama associated with ‘OWA’.

I thought that was weird too, that “Sorry” and “Got Me Good”, didn’t make the final tracklist. And the cut she did with Rick Ross, called “Boy Outta Here”, didn’t make it either. Weird. Maybe they’ll be on the Deluxe version of the cd.

I liked One Woman Army better because it expressed what she’s been through in her career and how she hasn’t given up and still fights. Ciara…color me bored.
I’m not totally feeling the album artwork either but I will give her my support if the music is good, she has shown how much she’ll work when the time comes.
It was a fresh unique and original idea. No one was doing a title like that and she abandons it. SMH.

So I’m assuming she’s become so blacklisted in the industry, she got to refresh ppl’s memory about her name and her brand. How sad honestly. At least the cover is nice tho but it’s really starting to look like she’s giving up on her creative pursuits and reducing herself more and more. I’m just done. She came a long way for THIS. Smh.

I actually prefer the album called Ciara rather than One woman army. I even said when she announced “one woman army” that the album should of been just “Ciara”. I feel like shes going to announce that she is going to release two albums. Shes recorded so much music. And Ciara is a good title because the album is fully her vision and shes in control.
Absolute mess, the album is about 2 months away from release and she changes the title now. This girl is clueless, but anyway I’m just happy I get to have the mastered for iTunes versions of living it up and overdose, can’t wait.

10 tracks album looks short! Wish it would have at least 12 tracks. Looks like she has created with Future a whole new album. Sad we couldn’t hear more of One Woman Army. I do understand her point starting new and fresh.

I like the title chanqe tbh. One Woman Army wasn’t bad but the singqles she dropped didn’t really resonate with an “one woman army” especially Sweat and GMG, even though Iiked those sonqs, they were basic af and typical Ciara sonqs. I think she chanqed the title to her name to make ppl remember who she is and the 10 sonqs she’s selected seem good imo. Body Party has been great reviews from critics unlike Sweat, GMG and Sorry which all got mixed reviews. Overdose and Livin’ It Up were refiews by critics and magazines last year and got amazinq reviews. DUI, I’m Out, Read My Lips and Sophomore all sound good too. I kinda had a feelinq she was gonna start a whole album campaign/marketing strategy cuss at the beginninq of the year, she completely stopped mentioninq Sorry and GMG. She just needs to start promotinq the album like crazy. Hit up 106, Wendy Williams, Ellen, The View, Letterman, Leno, Fallon, Kimmel, Lopez, Conan, GMA, Kelly & Michael, Today Show, do some promotional concerts where she previews sonqs on the albums and stay active on Twiiter, IG and FB and stay active in the summer because even if Body Party doesn’t do extremely well, she can definitely drop 2 hot summer sinqles
Good move, that what happen to the last two, they were dragged out so long that no one cared. This is a whole new album, OWM just didn’t workout. BUT, what she should do is release OWA as a mixtape, like TODAY! (it should’ve been a mixtape from the start. You see what Cassie doing (it’s not gonna work for her) but you see.

i’m lost yet completely understand it. Yes, OWA had some setbacks and I was thinking at some point she should have a self-titled album but One Woman Army is an amazing title that’s gone to waste. Also, I loved the song OWA but I really hope Only One makes the deluxe if there is one because we been waiting way too long for 10 tracks!!! I did like the title “One Woman Army”. But to be honest, who cares? If she does not start promoting it the right way it’ll flop anyway…
She is trying to get the success Kelly had with “Motivation”. But Kelly is by far more known than Ciara and still lives from Destiny’s Child. Ciara needs two singles…One for the main pop audience and one for the rnb audience.
I always thought Ciara is the perfect act to make a double disc. One with nice uptempo bangers and pop songs and one with more s*** songs like “Promise”. If that was promoted the right way she could have been on top.
But instead she is always releasing the same song with a different title…Body Party sounds like Promise, Sweat sounds like Work, sounds like Got me Good, sounds like Get Right and so on…
She needs a theme and stop trying to act like she’s still ghetto

I hate mirror image and multiple image pose covers. Pick ONE picture and ONE pose. This basic s*** makes it look like you couldn’t decide which angel you wanted C-error’s busted manface to look. Ch…flip it, flop it, raise the contrast, apply 300 filters and it’s still C-error manface.
She needs to release “Overdose” as a first single from this album… Not because I love this track soo much 😀 but it’s sure top10 hit.
I don’t like the album title being just Ciara(maybe iTunes got it wrong?) but I can care less. Im just mad that Sorry isn’t on the list because it’s one of Ciara’s best singles. I also don’t like how short the album is. People will be less willing to buy a full album that only has 10 songs, especially if they already brought one on iTunes.
And I’m still confused as to why Overdose hasn’t been released when fans haters and casual listeners alike agree it needs to be a single.
