I’m a casual listener of Beyonce. I have her albums, and I like her performances but one thing I’ve noticed about her music is that it doesn’t stick. Her albums collect dust in my CD tower, while artists like Brandy, Monica, Fantasia, Mary, Tweet, Jill Scott…hell even Keri Hilson, Destiny Fulfilled and Rihanna’s “Rated R” are still getting play from me. Beyonce needs a cohesive album that flows from top to bottom. She attempted that with “4,” but obviously that isn’t what her fans want from her. I feel like she’s stuck between a rock and a hard place, because she wants to make an album like that…but she’s already built her brand on “fierce girl-power anthems”. That’s honestly why I feel like she hasn’t dropped her single yet…..
