As one of biggest selling girl groups of all-time, TLC achieved such status with a flavoursome mix of classic songs and epic videos – with one of their most noted being 1994’s ‘Creep’.
Lifted from the trio’s mega-selling sophomore set ‘CrazySexyCool’, the track and its accompanying video is widely hailed for cranking the “Girl Power” movement into overdrive. For, with its risqué lyrics and unapologetic delivery, the release presented a super sound foundation for the ‘independent women” “running the music world” today, the Beyonce’s, the Rihanna’s, and the countless other progressive female figures in-between.
Yet, despite the song’s global success, very few know that another video was not shot for it. Directed by Lionel C. Martin, the original ‘Creep’ clip was left on the cutting-room floor for reasons unknown. What is certain, though, is that fans can now watch it after Martin unearthed it from his vault.

While we definitely prefer the “official” version, this certainly makes for an interesting watch. This is the type of “vault” footage we’d love to see from a host of other acts – both here and gone.

This video is beyond awesome! It is clear why they didn’t use it, since it was very reminiscent to their first album style and they wanted to graduate into a new era, that being Crazysexycool. Love this video though and thankful to Lionel for finally sharing it with us! Worth the wait

I’m so glad this video was not released because it wasn’t that good. The other version is way better. The quality of this version wasn’t good compared to the other version. They had the coolest pajamas in the other video.
Left Eye actually did not want this song released as a single because she didn’t believe in the whole sneaking around creeping.
I agree. I think too much was happening in the video. The original version is simpler and classic.

Words can’t express how much better this era of music was over what’s “hot” right now…and the NUMBERS prove it. This album went DIAMOND, while the so-called hit makers of today struggle to go platinum. I laugh at just about every “artist” who debuted after 2004. They are b******* compared to was happening during the 90s.
I actually remember an interview with Lisa where she spoke about there being ano0ther video for Creep, she said it was her idea to scrap it cos it was too dark and there was a lot of compition out at the time, she said Salt n Pepa ahd just released the video for None Of Your Biusiness looking all fly and s*** and they had to step there game up so the re-shot the video, which to be honest was a very good idea, i remember seeing them looking fly in thos Pyjamas and re-difned them as a group

they should have combined the videos. The released version is more pop friendly while this version does a better job of embodying the feminism TLC stood for with their music. Oh how i miss 90s R&B!
