‘You Don’t Know’ Rapper 50 Cent has slammed long time rival Rick Ross- accusing the ‘Maybach Music‘ front man of presenting a dangerously false image of himself.
In an interview with ‘Hardknock TV‘, the MC’s comments on his fellow lyricist came during a discussion on the current state of Hip Hop hit making- which saw him share why he thought a number of Hip Hop artists- including a relative of his- play a dangerous game when penning lyrics about lives they haven’t lived.
His advice below…
I like 50 cent, get rich or die trying is my favorite album from him. I feel 50 cent is out of order on this one, I’m not the biggest Rick Ross fan but I feel every artist has a right to market and express themselves in whichever way they choose. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, whether it’s a false image or not.

I’m from the hood (Jamica, Queens NY Like 50 & Nicki) & I Grew Up around an environment that shouldn’t even be promoted to the world, especially from A person like Rick Ross who didn’t live that lifestyle. Even thoe I do like to hear Rick Ross’s verses on records I do know that 99% of it is nothing but talk Plain & Simple. But it saddens me too know that many of listeners (children listeners) are buying into his act & are not demanding the truth about his life before fame, because now he’s a millionaire & his life couldn’t be what he rapps about.
I respect real MC’s who have shared their actual experiences when I comes to this particular life style ( Nas, Biggie, Mobb Deep, Ice Cube, 50 Cent, Queen Latifa, Luaryn Hill ect..).
But then I respect people like Nicki Minaj who is from the street life style, but chooses not promote her hardships & Strugles just to gain recognition from people who like too hear about the streets in Hip-Hop. And if you honestly know about Nicki’s past you would understand why she’s been resistant to share it.

Music is an Art form. It’s created to to come in contact with people’s emotions whether its fictional or non fictional. Although it would be better if Rick Ross actually lives the life he raps about, why try to stop the mans hustle? Music is his hustle to provide for his family! 50 cent may have his opinion on things but it seems to come from a place of jealousy. He’s clearly Jealous of Ross. So what if he’s creating stories through his music, singers do it all the time. It’s called being an artist.
