Iggy Azalea has shared her thoughts on Nicki Minaj‘s number one album, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded‘.
In an interview with our friends over at Digital Spy to promote her own forthcoming LP, the ‘Grand Hustle’ Princess spoke openly on how she felt about the LP- which recently reached sales of 1.6 million units worldwide.
Iggy’s words below…
On the release, she shared:
“She definitely had both sides but I think hers was – I don’t wanna be mean to her because I’m not being mean – but I don’t think that it was dynamic.
I could see both sides and I’m not saying it has to be that way, but it was very rigid in the way that it flipped between the two [sounds]. I like to make the music flow like a river – I’m like, ‘You have to listen to the album from track one to ten!”

I’m definitely one of Nicki’s biggest fans and even Nicki have admitted she wasn’t really focused on that album. She had a lot (more than any other rap b**** EVER have) going on. It was way too many features on the songs and it did jump all over the place.

I think Nicki didn’t see it as a full album and thus she didn’t put the proper planning into it, just added a few new songs and pushed it out.
She could have done better, I think that’s Nicki’s biggest problem. Sometimes she’s so busy planning for big future plans she doesn’t fully control and execute the smaller things more properly. She even said in interviews she didn’t realize some stores wouldn’t carry the album till it was already released.

Well, she does have a point and numerous music critics, including her HONEST fans, have agreed to the same thing.
In comparison to her first album, the quality of PF:RR faltered drastically and was just TOO safe & calculated (…inconsistent and over-produced) of a Hip-Hop album.
She tried TOO hard to please both sides of the musical demographic – to some extent, it worked but how many people actually respect Nicki as a ‘true artiste’ now and not just a commercial product?
Nonethelss, Izzy – I think you should worry about your music, sales etc… and leave Nicki’s “PLATINUM/MULT-PLATINUM” plaques alone.

She answered and then the interviewer asked if her album would sound like Nicki’s. THIS is where the excerpt you chose to report came in to play. She was not talking down about Nicki’s album, she was giving her opinion of the mixture of different sounds that made up Nicki’s LP.
