Jennifer Lopez returned to American Idol tonight, illuminating the stage with a live performance of new single ‘Live It Up’.
Armed with frequent collaborator Pitbull and an army of female dancers, the 43-year-old offered quite the spectacle…all in front of longtime rival Mariah Carey.

A surprisingly lackluster showing from the usual show-stopper.
Both the choreography and its execution were messy, while the outfits felt super “local”. Our mainstay maybe the music, yet acts of J.Lo’s caliber are tasked with serving up a 360 product that hits a home run each and every time. Sadly, on this occasion, she fell short. Way short.
Still, the song is all sorts of a banger and we’re sure it’ll be the hit it deserves to be. Fingers crossed its accompanying video delivers in the way this performance didn’t.
