Weigh In: Danity Kane Spotted Together With “New Manager” / Should They Reunite?

After the wake of Destiny’s Child disbandment, “Making the Band” winners Danity Kane seemed poised to quickly fill the trio’s “girl group” void.  Armed with all the makings of a diva syndicate (i.e. – actual talent), the fivesome – comprised of Aubrey O’Day, D. Woods, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard, and Aundrea Fimbres – flew to the top of charts on the wings of songs like ‘Show Stoppers’ and ‘Damaged’.

Despite their successes, the group barely made it out of album #2 before announcement their disbandment.  And, while the likes of O’Day, Richard, and Woods all went on to varying levels of success, fans still longed for the full effect of the quintet.

Well, fans should long no more if reports that surfaced today are to be believed.  Find out what we mean below:

Thanks to TMZ:

“Four original members of the group — Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard, and Aundrea Fimbres— grabbed lunch today in L.A. with a new manager to discuss the reunion … and sources tell TMZ, it’s definitely happening.   We’re told they plan to record and tour.”

 *********

No official word has come from any member’s camp, but if we can dare to dream, we are certainly hoping this comes to be.  Not only is music in dire need of diversity given the absence of girl groups (or groups in general as far as R&B and pop go), qualitative performers who can actually bring style and substance to performances are needed even more.

If D. Woods was just absent or will be permanently absent from the rumored reunion has yet to be seen.  All we know is that this needs to be a GO and soon!

Yes would love another DK album

  2. NickiBeyNaj May 13, 2013

No Shade but is it just me or does it seem like DK never really had a major impact on music back in the day that it doesn’t really matter that they are possibly coming back now?

I would be more interested in a DC Comeback where we all know that MUSIC would be on it’s way back

    • Pon_de May 13, 2013

      It is just you.

    • quetta May 14, 2013

      I agree.

    • DK May 14, 2013

I think it’s just you. You can ask the millions who bougth their albums.

    • Truthspeaker May 14, 2013

Yup, you were living under some rocks if you honestly believe that. DK had/HOPEFULLY STILL HAS the potential to beat Destiny’s Children. Their albums are EVERYTHING and we can only blame Diddy for their demise just like other acts that had the potential to really excel in the game.

      • Lipe May 14, 2013

WHAT! i love me some DC but i HONESTLY enjoy those three woman as SOLO artist! They did their thing together and it’s over!

DK may not be beating DC in almbum sales, but THE group is amazing TOGETHER and their music was fire. I would really ENJOY it if they came back and lasted.

Maybe eventually they could POSSIBLY get to where DC was at. #IM JUSTSAYIIN

Please… Beyonce is too big of a start to be even thinking about getting back with DC for an album.. if she does consider it Community Service for her and helping out those in need cause Bey doesnt need it.

    I loved these girls.
Not here for that white diva b*tch Aubrey though.

  11. Cupcake May 13, 2013

Let me add that I LOOVED “Ride for you”.
The harmonious sound of their voices together was sick, Audrey can get the boot though. She just rubs me the wrong way.

    • Cupcake May 13, 2013

  15. cocobutta May 14, 2013

    2 albums and 2 billboard #1 albums = IMPACT!

I’m loving the news but apart of me is thinking it’s now 2late, but I’m willing to give them a chance due to longing for this to happen.

Puff messed up not branching them off internationally, so I really hope they do that this time.

Might be best to document the reunion via a tv series as that was apart of what brand DK was.

In all honesty, I think if Danity Kane were to come back, they would be able to blow up every f****** chart. What was so great about them was they each member was unique and equal and had their own personality (a la TLC) and were always each individually incredibly talented and s*** (a la Destiny’s Child)… In a world of Pussycat Dolls and Cheetah Girls, DK really stood above them all bc of their talent and uniqueness, not to mention they had DOPE ass music. Urban pop music that had their own style, something no other group was doing or could do the way they were. If you ask me, Danity Kane was the perfect girl group and I would SOOOOOO welcome a comeback. I need a girl group to stan for 🙂

  17. DANIEL T May 14, 2013

I LURVE DK but I duno how I feel about this. It seems the time has passed now and they might not have made enough of an impact to warrant a comeback. Plus, despite her lack of commercial success, it might be that Dawn has made too much of a critical and artistic leap to return to a pop group

  18. Navy nick May 14, 2013

nah Dawn is thr best thing there & i adore her albums that shes released: DK ughk.,

  19. dmk May 14, 2013

Dawn should stick to her solo career – she’s the TRUTH

  20. nobitchassness May 14, 2013

Their two albums have never left my iTunes.

Even though their solo careers didn’t do too well.

  21. LaLaLoo May 14, 2013

    best.news.ever!

You guys don’t know how much I love these girls!
I play both of their albums still on a weekly basis.

I can’t wait for some new DK material… D Woods better join though! won’t be the same without her!

  22. Maestro May 14, 2013

    SOOOOOOO
I can see clearly from this post and its comments the fans have spoken. I think we’ve all been waiting for this secretely and some not so secretly lol… I WOULD BUY THIS ALBUM 1ST DAY IT DROPS… DK was and to me still IS the SHIZNYEE

  23. The One May 14, 2013

Danity Kane was a really great group. They were starting to hit their stride with “Damaged” (they were nominated for VMA award for choreography and it was hitting high notes on Billboard 100), but Diddy fired them. First, I thought that was a bad move on his part. I really felt like the only problem that was wrong with them was the show. Diddy would keep them in the apartment just for the filming of the show. So, with 5 women in one area all of the time, you can imagine foolishness going on! He should have really just let them have their lives, and then they would have been more committed to the group. But, I’m so excited for them to return, if it is true!

  24. JP May 14, 2013

THIS IS WHAT I’M HERE FOR! I hope they maintain their urban edgy pop sound. Love love love Danity Kane.

  25. Dorsey ! May 14, 2013

its no other way ! !! we have to have MORE DK !

  26. Back 2 J May 14, 2013

I thought Shannon was working on a country album? And D.Woods was in another group & working on solo material. And Dawn has her own solo career going on right now. I just don’t see it happening right at the moment but they have always said they would not object to a reunion.

I think everything said made a lot of sense. However, think about
this, what if you were to write a awesome headline?
I ain’t suggesting your information isn’t good, but what if you added a post title to possibly get a
person’s attention? I mean Weigh In: Danity Kane Spotted Together With
“New Manager” / Should They Reunite? | ..::That Grape Juice // ThatGrapeJuice.net::..
    || Thirsty? is a little vanilla. You might peek at Yahoo’s
front page and note how they create news titles to get
people to click. You might add a related video or a related pic or two to
grab readers excited about everything’ve written. In my
opinion, it would bring your website a little livelier.
