Shortly after the song’s release, R&B singer Keyshia Cole blasted Beyonce as being “self righteous” for the oppressive lyrics. Within days more high profile critics, including conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and talk show host Wendy Williams, also condemned the controversial song.
