Watch: Little Mix Storm ‘Good Morning America’ After Making US Chart History

Break America.

It’s a feat few British acts can boast of achieving, yet Little Mix have done it. Or, at the very least, are doing it.

The feisty Pop quad saw their debut album ‘DNA’ rocket to #4 on the Billboard 200 this week after shifting a (relatively) impressive 50,000 copies first week. Interestingly, the charting sees the LP become the highest ever debut project from a UK female group in America.

Keen to keep the momentum going, the ladies took over Good Morning America‘s Summer Concert Series today, where they rocked the house with the album’s title track and fan-favourite ‘Wings’.

Watch Jesy, Leigh-Ann, Jade, and Perrie perform after the jump…

Good stuff. While solid, we imagine the girls will continue to grow as live (and confident) performers in the months and years ahead.

“Highest charting UK debut from a group?”

One Direction’s first album debuted at #1 with sales of 176,000.

I think they meant female group. And isn’t Niall Irish?

I’m honestly surprised they’re doing this well in the US.

    Happy for them.

When is 50k is doing well?

      • nobitchassness June 8, 2013

When you’re a Girl Group from the UK and it’s your first album overseas.

  3. Selenator June 7, 2013

I love Little Mix!! Im glad they’re going well in the U.S, not very many U.K acts are successful in both countries. I hope The Saturdays blow up next. Maybe girl groups aren’t dead after all.

  4. Musiclova June 7, 2013

    I really like them
I hope they make it far
My favorite song is the title track DNA !!

  5. JARED (WHITE DUDE) June 7, 2013

    Cute.

    That is all.

Also, the “highest charting debut by a UK Female group in the U.S” belongs to the ‘Spice Girls’: 107K – #3 – 1996

    • stuart June 8, 2013

they mean debut album they are talking about spice which went in the chart at number 6 on its first week the one you are thinking of is spiceworld which was the second album not the debut

  6. Aquarius June 7, 2013

Good for them. I wasn’t expecting that at all.

  7. GOLDEN LIFE June 7, 2013

S*** 50k is great because I have never even heard of them.

  8. Sarah June 7, 2013

I’m sorry but they aren’t doing so well. Their album sold 50,000 copies the first week of release. That’s nothing groundbreaking. So what if you broke a record set by the Spice Girls, those sales are just ok, nothing extraordinary.

  9. TONIO HIZZO June 7, 2013

Selling 50K is major because they have released nothing new to the US market… I was hoping Little Mix would do the inverse of Destiny’s Child in its Hey-Day and release a international version with a brand new single for Breaking the States… but they are pushing Wings & DNA which are HELLA-DELAYED and have been out it the same format… The Net doesnt allow exclusivity anymore so those who know of Rhythmix will need Sony/Columbia to give more…

These girls will be Huge and their management is crucial tho… Get them a reality show and a new single they shouldve pushed How U doin w/ Missy in the States and went of Wendy Williams…

Wow, this piece of writing is fastidious, my sister is analyzing these kinds of things, therefore I am going to tell
    her.

  11. The real xoxo June 8, 2013

    This record is meaningless.
The spice girls still got a #1 debut album, they just never got it in the first week.
‘Spice’ sold 7.4 million copies in US and 28 million WW. Highest selling album of 1997.
When Pick n Mix get 9 #1 singles like the Spice Goddesses, Get at me.

  12. gio88 June 8, 2013

still nothing special , i hope misha b will smash!

  13. Mike June 8, 2013

Funny, even with millions invested in her, Rita Ora didn’t manage to achieve ANY of this… with way more promo

    LOL

    I wonder why??

Oh, it’s because her songs are so average… and no matter how you try to force yourself down people’s throats, if they don’t like you, they don’t like you

  14. Dorsey June 9, 2013

    I love Little Mix !! Yay ! I def bought it !
