For, after ruffling many a Rap feather with his verse on Big Sean‘s ‘Control’ , the Rapper has seen himself dominate social media by scoring a digital feat of epic proportions.

Upon the release of the cut on August 12th, Lamar saw the hype surrounding ‘Control’ attract 209,000 new Twitter followers, resulting in a 510% increase from the week before, sending him straight to #15 on Billboard’s Social 50.
As music lovers took to Facebook to debate the controversial cut, the performer saw the number of conversations he was mentioned in soar by 122%, securing him 88,000 new Friends on his official page, and helping to push his debut album ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D City’ well over the 1 million in the US- earning it a Platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.
More interestingly, the MCs connected to the freestyle and their closest rivals found themselves given no choice but to reap from the Lamar sewn drama, with each of them enjoying social media increases in the same period, as seen below:
