Vote: ‘Toxic’ Vs ‘Born This Way’ Vs ‘Beautiful’

Published: Wednesday 14th Aug 2013 by David

Back in July, we asked you to name songs released between now and year 2000 that you believed had had a major impact on Pop culture or the career of the act behind it.

Days later, using the songs provided, TGJ launched ‘The Greatest Song of the Decade’ poll, featuring appearances from Michael Jackson‘s ‘You Rock My World’, Lady GaGa‘s ‘Born This Way’ and Beyonce‘s ‘Single Ladies‘.

120,000 votes later, the winner of this poll stands just one week away from being announced. So, with this in mind, we ask…

Out of the three numbers mentioned in the headline of this article, which do you feel had the greatest impact on Pop music…and why.

Vote below!

  8. christinastherealtalent August 14, 2013

Beautiful had a bigger impact in the LGBT community as well as dealing with self esteem issues, bullying, and eating disorders despite it not being #1 on the Hot 100.

  9. rih rox ( decided i no longer need to mention my imposter who has my old account…and of course i have a new one.) August 14, 2013

    Toxic!!!!

  10. Britney disappears August 14, 2013

TOXIC is the one above ALL!

  11. Xtina is an ICON From USA!! August 14, 2013

Beautiful !!! is one of must touching songs In pop culture and the best song by superstar Xtina !!!

    • Britney disappears August 14, 2013

  12. truth(the new and refined TRUTH. f*** icki she done now i just slay a b****…yew mad??) August 14, 2013

    TOXIC!!

  13. AguilerasHeart August 14, 2013

Gaga wishes she had Britney or Chris’ impact but she will never because she tries too hard. She thinks she’s above it all and was bashing bloggers when she was the same one who used lick Piggy Hilton’s ass and used him to bash Chris during Bionic. Everyone is over her and that’s why Adele, Taylor and Katy will always be>>>>

    • Fierce & all -Not here for b****** that can only slay in studios August 14, 2013

Sorry to say but although Chris IS talented her reign and impact was only from 1999-2006. Now she has a cult following. TBH, she was never on Beyonce or Britney’s level of impact. But u tried.

      • FAF August 14, 2013

^ wait . what ? Beyonces level of impact? Do you know Christina & Brit were the prime bubblegum pop princesses? They began an entire era. Girlllll NNNNNNot u trynna use Beyonce like she started R&B or something

      • Fierce & all -Not here for b****** that can only slay in studios August 14, 2013

@faf Britney was the prime bubblegum princess. Xtina was a close second. And I’m saying beyonce’s impact has always been both strong in the black and white communities. Xtina’s reign could not even last that long sadly. And when did I say Beyonce started r&b?

      • Tyler August 14, 2013

@FAF Girl I know you are not getting mad….in all honesty you don’t have the right to be. Since you stan for Ciara and all. I don’t even really have anything against Ciara but you C-Squad fans do the most when it comes to Beyonce smdh.

  14. RihNavy August 14, 2013

The fact that Rihanna and Brit Brit are snatching and slaying this poll though.

  15. emily-grace August 14, 2013

Toxic and beautiful both won grammy stupid! And beautiful saved many lives not trying to be funny it has been named the most influential song of the last 20 years. Learn before you comment!

  16. rih rox ( decided i no longer need to mention my imposter who has my old account…and of course i have a new one.) August 14, 2013

    Beautiful IS OVERRATED!!!!!!!

  17. Nostalgia1989 August 14, 2013

I was about to start liking Gaga again until I saw that she’s back to her desperate ways. Stop being so extra about every damn thing.

  18. OvoBarbie August 14, 2013

Toxic is winning this so you can keep your otys.

    • BlackoutBritBrit August 14, 2013

      I like you.

    • Fierce & all -Not here for b****** that can only slay in studios August 14, 2013

B**** toxic is winning becuz there are 13 and 14 year old f*** on this site that Stan for s***** vocalists and artists.

  19. LAWWWWWWD August 14, 2013

    1) Beautiful: Ultimately, the song that was the prime catalyst for ‘Rolling Stones Magazine’ placing Christina on the ‘100 Greatest Singers of All Time’ list – the only 21st Century- based vocalist included. The song was also named the ‘Greatest Gay Anthem’ of the 2000’s Decade by the ‘LGBT Association’.

    2) Toxic: ‘NME Magazine’ named the song the ‘Most Influential Dance-Pop Song of the 2000’s Decade’.

    3) Born This Way: ‘Slant Magazine’ called the song ‘The Most Exciting Electro-Pop Song of the 2010’s Decade’.

    THE WINNER:

    ‘Christina Aguilera “Beautiful”.

TOXIC.Truth i need to be your FB friend, you crazy.

    • truth(the new and refined TRUTH. f*** icki she done now i just slay a b****…yew mad??) August 14, 2013

      what’s your fb name??

  21. SoGoneForMonica August 14, 2013

BTW tried and failed 2bh so I’ll go with Beautiful. It wasn’t popular to support us gays when she put it out which is why it meant more. Gaga did do her part but now it’s in fashion to show support to the LGBT community so all she really did was capitalize on what was already there. It was Christina who broke the ground and changed people’s ideas.

  22. You Stupid H**! August 14, 2013

Stupid, Beautiful saved so many LGBT people even before you where born & learnt how to type stupid comments. It highlighted LGBT people before your favorite Caca uses them. The video also highlighted people with eating disorders among others.

Research before you type, you cretin. Or get a brain.

By the way, I love Toxic too! It stood up due to its excellent production.

  23. GagitaMaraj August 14, 2013

MJ is winning now but my brothers and sisters are coming for the top spot, believe that. #BornThisWay

  24. Fierce & all -Not here for b****** that can only slay in studios August 14, 2013

Xtina is a flop but we all know Beautiful is an amazing song. But most of these are not really good options. :/

  25. XO August 14, 2013

    Madonna ‘Hung Up’!

  26. Ke August 14, 2013

    ‘Put It Down’ Brandy

    • Fierce & all -Not here for b****** that can only slay in studios August 14, 2013

Lmfao. I love brandy but u know that’s a lie.

      • FAF August 14, 2013

        DEAD

      • FAF August 14, 2013

Wait how many times are y’all gonna post this poll, tho ? 😯

  27. cake like lady gaga August 14, 2013

Born This Way of course. It changed Pop

  28. bqueen August 14, 2013

toxic obviously, becuase it was actually a good song, add a steaming music video and you got a game changing song, BTW was a ripoff of madonnas EY, so it shouldnt even be in this contest, and beautiful was a decent ballad, toxic set a precedent for pop music,

    • Fierce & all -Not here for b****** that can only slay in studios August 14, 2013

B**** plz. That song was mediocre. Only reason ppl thought it was good cuz it was Britney and cuz of the video. Also, no one over the age of 18 takes that song seriously….

      • bqueen August 14, 2013

clearly u werent around when it came out, and its sound influenced pop music more than you realize, and over 18? LOL that especially who knows it, your being delusional

  29. Fierce & all -Not here for b****** that can only slay in studios August 14, 2013

Sam, where do you get off with ppl voting for these random songs….None of these songs (besides toxic, BTW, single ladies, and beautiful) were hits or impactful in the last decade. They were fillers. And I love MJ but YRMW was not the BEST out of his catalogue and that shouldn’t even be there. Ugh. The struggle. I can’t with these youngins.

  30. ~Signature~ August 14, 2013

🙄 @ YRMW and ILTY. Those songs had zero impact

  31. FAF August 14, 2013

Wait. Toxic was a good song but are we comparing “The taste of your lips I’m on a riiiiiiiiiiiiiide” ( 😆 ) to 🙁 “No matter what we do No matter what we say, We’re the song that’s outta tune, Full of beautiful mistakes, And everywhere we go, The sun will always shine, But tomorrow we might wake on the other SIIIIIHIIIIIIIIIYAIFDJAAFLKDAJAAAADE!!!” >>>>>>>> 😀

Christina MURKED that song!!!! Thats one of the best, most memorable, impactful songs of the last 20 yrs

  32. JP August 14, 2013

I’m not even a big Christina fan, but Beautiful…no contest. Born This Way shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence as the other two tracks.

  33. Kim Kardashian Stan August 14, 2013

Beautiful is very inspirational Toxic is iconic & Born this way is just ugh

  34. leanne August 14, 2013

I think all three are great. Btw is such a unique track with defiantly has a amazing message. Toxic is my gave brit track and one of the best in the last few years. Beautiful is well written with Vocals that without a doubt that slay the other to also with a an amazing message. This is hard but I’m going to go with Beautiful the effect it has is beyond undeniable. Beautiful <3

  35. LAWWWWWWD August 14, 2013

    Mariah Carey: Triumphant…

    *Leaves*

  36. Robin August 14, 2013

    Beautifull it is 🙂

Love Toxic as well.. But Beautifull reached a huge range of people and inspired 🙂

  37. JOHNVIDAL August 14, 2013

None of these 3 songs had that much impact, they were hits but not that much impact. Obviously Britney´s Baby one more Time or Gaga´s Bad Romance or Poker Face had more impact in pop music. Among those 3 in the headline, probably Beautiful had the most impact, but nothing too special, it didn´t change anything.

  38. BEYHIVE_MINAJ August 15, 2013

Born this way-Toxic was a s*** anthem. And how the hell is goodies the song of the decade- that s*** barely sold over 1000-oh well,we all know the Cirellevant squad are the most on here
