It’s official. Britney Spears is heading to Las Vegas.
Easily the worst kept secret in entertainment, the singer’s Planet Hollywood residency was confirmed by Spears herself on Good Morning America moments ago.

Christened ‘Britney Spears – Piece Of Me’, the two-year spectacle kicks off in December and is described as an experience that sees the “club meet the theater”.
Set to perform 50 shows a year, Spears confirmed that tickets for the desert hot show go on sale at Ticketmaster.com today.

Typically, the Vegas show option is most exhausted by older Pop divas (see: Cher, Celine Dion); a fact which doesn’t help “sell” Spears as a force on the contemporary charts.
Yet the fact new single ‘Work Bitch’ is currently beasting on iTunes suggests the rule book must be thrown out of the window when it comes to the 31-year-old – whose “titan” status even survived that terrible turn on The X Factor USA last year.
We can only hope the relatively stress-free appeal of a residency (vs a travelling tour) helps relight the spark that was once Brit’s ability on stage. Because “this” is as hilarious as it is unacceptable:
