Housing two of R&B’s most celebrated songbirds and ‘King of Sorrows‘ belle Sade, Epic Records now enlists the aid of former Def Jam staple Shalik Berry- handing him a role set to see him steer the label to a bigger and brighter Urban future.
Brought on to strengthen the label’s hold over Urban music, Berry’s new found home at Epic sees him arrive earn the job 11 years after serving as head of A&R at Roc-a-Fella records, where he worked alongside ‘Song Cry’ maestro Jay Z.
Now, the industry power figure will report to Epic exec LA Reid, with whom he will work to seek and nurture fresh talent and develop their existing acts, three of them being ‘Hot Sugar’ star Tamar Braxton, ‘Like A Surgeon‘ stunner Ciara and the Brit Pop gem that is Paloma Faith.
