October 15th may mark the release of Mary J.Blige‘s new Christmas album, ‘A Mary Christmas’, but that hasn’t stopped the ‘Be Without You’ belle from releasing one of its numbers a little early to date.
A cover of Donny Hathaway‘s classic ‘This Christmas‘, some may agree that Blige’s vocal lacks the feeling of joy and euphoria the cut’s lyrics should have forced out of her, but will still make for an enjoyable listen for any hoping to get in the Holiday spirit well before December.

Very bland. I know everyone doesn´t have Mariah´s brilliant musicianship, even when it comes to Xmas music, but this right here sounds like a good karaoke session. I´m not that familiar with Xmas albums apart from MC´s and a few more, but damn, for example Celine Dion´s one that I bought back in the day is stunning too. Mary is the type of artist-voice that is good in her genre, but can´t do other genres justice. I bet Kelly Clarkson´s will sounds way better (and I don´t care about her).
