The Spill: Adina Howard, Omarion, The Weeknd, Luke James, Ledisi, & More

Published: Saturday 21st Sep 2013 by Rashad

Ever keen on keeping the masses abreast of fresh and/or often underrated talent, That Grape Juice presents ‘The Spill’ – a renewed look at not-so-new, yet active, acts.

Much like its ‘Freshly Squeezed’ sister segment, this revived assay aims to put the magnifying glass on talents who may not appeal to the buying public on a broad scale yet are still serving material that could easily spin side-by-side with some of today’s top hits.

Covering a kaleidoscope of genres, ‘The Spill’ is set to feature some names you probably know and love as well as some you’ll (soon) be glad to know.  Click below to find out the spill on crooners Omarion, Luke James, The Weeknd, and much more…

New Video:  Omarion – ‘Know You Better’ ft. Pusha & Fabolous

As reported here, Maybach Music Group‘s resident crooner Omarion enlists Pusha T and Fabolous for support in his latest visual ‘Know You Better’.

The sexy slow jam, set in NYC, acts as the latest Topshelf Junior-directed visual lifted from the September 17th released ‘Self Made, Vol. 3′ (MMG compilation album).  See it and weigh in above:

New Song:  Omarion – ‘Say Don’t Go’

Following “Know You Better” featuring Pusha T and Fabolous, Omarion continues his bid for “sexy slow jam” supremacy with another banger titled “Say Don’t Go.”

Get into it above.  No word on if this can expected on his MMG first album due early 2014 or on his next mixtape – set to follow last year’s ‘Care Package’ mixtape.

New Song:  Adina Howard – ‘Switch’

‘Freak Like Me’ maestra Adina Howard continues to let the freak in her shine with her newest up-tempo tune ‘Switch’.  Set to lead ‘The Switch Up’ – her first full length offering in six years, the new tunes sees Howard sonically do just what the title implies.

New Video:  The Weeknd – ‘Pretty’

He’s undoubtedly one of Urban music’s favorite newcomers and, if the offerings from his debut album ‘Kiss Land’ are any indication, rightfully so.

Torontoian crooner The Weeknd is winning fans over left and right with his emo-tinged tunes with the latest coming in the form of ‘Pretty’ – a haunting tune with a Sam Pilling-directed music video of “crimes of passion” to accompany it.

Does the video do the song justice?  Tell us below:

New Song:  Ledisi – ‘I Blame You’

With 2011’s ‘Pieces of Me’ exposing her to the masses in ways her career hadn’t seen prior, R&B wailer Ledisi hopes to continue building on that much deserved buzz with ‘I Blame You’ – the first single from her forthcoming album.

Set to hit digital outlets on September 30, the songstress gleamed when she spoke to Essence about the new tune:

“It’s about a relationship and you’re excited about the person making you excited about you, again. So, you’re blaming that person for bringing some light into your life.”
