In a move that has already caused commotion of the positive and opposite persuasion, Lady GaGa is capitalising on the success of new “promo” single 'Do What U Want (ft. R. Kelly') in the most pronounced of ways. This afternoon, the Pop titan confirmed the cut as the official 2nd single to be lifted from her 'ARTPOP' album – replacing initially announced choice, 'Venus'.

1) She’s not making this her second single solely on the fact that it’s selling extremely well. If we like the song, and there’s a connection between as the fans/users and the song, then why wouldn’t she/label want to make it as a second single? Artists/labels ask fans/users periodically what they would like the next single be due to the connection.
2) Gaga does not run her own label. She’s NOT INDEPENDENT; therefore, as much as Gaga proclaims that she does music for the “writing” aspect and not for the “charts”, there’s only so much she can control. Her LABEL has the most control in which single is being put out.
3) Why does it matter? Regardless if she made this her second single, or just for PROMO purposes, it’s still a very good song…and with its success, that’s PROOF. It has had this much success with US KNOWING that it’s not the official second single. SO…where’s the problem? Again, if there’s a connection, why would they not want to make it a second single?
