Hours before she was set to serve a Stadium set in Kuala Lumpur, ‘Backstabber’ beauty Ke$ha has seen a spanner thrown in her works, after Malaysian authorities pulled the plug on the show- citing the star’s music as their cause for doing so.

Much to their surprise, concert organisers Livescape revealed that it received a letter from Malaysia‘s Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, explaining that it had rejected Ke$ha’s application to perform in the country due to the unrest they believe she would cause to their religion and culture.
This, coming after the hit maker agreed to alter her show to suit Malaysian audiences and comply the government’s guidelines for performers hoping to deliver stage shows in the market. Alas, her efforts to appease them came to no avail and now joins Livescape in suffering a $350,000 loss because of the concert’s ban.
In response to the nation’s actions, Livescape have reportedly urged them to “engage in a productive dialogue” with all concert organisers as to avoid similar trouble in the future.

Last time i checked, Rihanna allowed to perform in Malaysia, but her concert was canceled. That one just 3 days after Chris Brown beaten her.

The SS remix was released in a few countries only and was already made over a year ago. It was her label who did that, Lana herself said she didn’t like the fact that that was played over the original.
Even then SS has sold over 600k WITHOUT the remix in the US and charted in over 20 countries last year, once again without the remix. Unlike Tamar who is both local and generic trash.
I didn’t say Lana wasn’t mainstream. I’m just saying she’s probably the most mainstream artist I listen to, unlike most of the commentors on this site who only lists to whatever Clear Channel feeds them.

If you alter your performance then the costumes will become an issue.

Just say ‘I won’t be able to edit my concert to suit the requirements of the Ministry but I am so honored and I have the utmost respect for their requests’ then…keep it moving. Because it never works out after you’ve made all the changes.

The terrible part in all of this is they didn’t inform Ke$ha in advance. The Malaysian govt is horrible, they should have told her weeks in advance and saved her from transport, food and room costs, now all of that is sunk.
