How unfortunate.
For, while there are many acts who would give an arm and a leg to pull in numbers similar to the above, none of those acts should be named Miley Cyrus.
Why? Well, after spending the last year promoting the project via a bottomless pit of controversies, it’s pretty embarrassing that Cyrus is on course to sell anything less than half a million units- especially considering all the promotional opportunities she milked to push the release.
It seems, that while object licking and nudity may bring in the viewers in their millions, music buyers need a whole lot more to convince them to part with their hard earned cash.
Problematic, as these sales can’t have been what her Camp had in mind when they kicked off her campaign- now met with sales the likes Lady GaGa and Katy Perry are likely to outperform come their release dates.
Embarrassing, as they’ll do it without the press frenzy Miss Cyrus no doubt believed would see her reach commercial heights attained by Taylor Swift.
Just think, all that attention seeking only to move numbers Rihanna could move in her sleep.

I agree with what you’re saying but not the part about Aaliyah. Ciara did not steal Aaliyah’s style (believe me I would know since I’m an Aaliyah stan). Their dance styles are completely different. Aaliyah does mainly hip hop but incorporated contemporary dance, latin dance, belly dance, (etc.). Her movements were always smooth and precise. Aaliyah’s music was urban pop mixed with RnB. Now Ciara also does hip hop but incorporates crunk dancing. Her movements are always energetic and hard hitting. Ciara’s music is RnB mixed with hip hop. The point is they are not the same so no she doesn’t need to give her credit. If anything she needs to give credit( which she already has) to Janet Jackson.
