Published: Monday 28th Oct 2013 by Rashad

R&B’s new kid on the block August Alsina is still feeling the luv from fans after they lifted his latest number ‘I Luv This Sh*t’ (featuring Chris Brown & Trey Songz) to the top of Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts.

Now, with one hit under his belt, the New Orleans native has enlisted rappers B.O.B. and Yo Gotti for a round 2 with ‘Numb’ remix.  Taking the net by storm, the tune’s arrival follows Alsina’s television debut aboard ‘The Wendy Show’ this morning.

Horrible performance!! Why was he lip synching/singing over playback???? I’ve seen him live and he can actually sing!!! Not a good look for your first televised performance! Get some background singers or sumthin zaddy

    WHERE IS SMELLY FLOPLAND?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I watched it live, not even the video and it was a hot mess. Chile, this was amateur karaoke and he can SING. He threw out an occasional ad-lib here and there to try to show off his skills but between his DJ shouting, the awkward dancing, and that overly loud backing track, he was a mess. He clearly doesn’t need to dance or get high anymore, especially before a show. Lose the grill, it probably makes it hard to sing with them on either level, stand behind the mic or walk around a bit, and if you sing, act like a singer instead of a glorified rapper. Maybe this would have been better if someone played guitar and it was done acoustically. Honestly, I think acoustically he’d sound gorgeous and the crowd would eat it up and throw their panties off. It’s more intimate and s***. This was not a club show at night and I don’t think he knows how to play any other crowd yet. Room for improvement and growth. Someone call in Frank Gatson because he needs stage coaching immediately! And please stop talking to ratchet when people interview you boy! He looked great though but this performance was fit for a hole-in-the-wall, sweaty, nightclub that just cares about seeing instead of hearing. No ma’am. Chile………he wasn’t ready. Horrible introduction to daytime TV because Wendy is the queen of daytime TV talkshows. This was fitting for 106 & Park.

I agree with what you said but keep in mind he is a new artist and clearly this is his first televised performance. Im sure he will get better with time…

I sure hope so because girl, no. This was a shame. I know he’s new but this just goes to show that he’s brand new and no one has put him through artist development yet. I don’t want to see him become Cassie. Remember, Cassie came armed with the image, buzz, and hit single and she’s still not living down that crappy 106 & Park showing from over 7 years ago. That just goes to show that your first live televised performance can make or break you. He’s got the image, sound, voice, and hit single, but he needs stage presence because he lacks it a’plenty. And this was the opening act before the opening act.

That was absolutely PAINFUL to watch. What the hell? The backing track was too loud and he barely put in any effort. I couldn’t even get past the first verse. Crazy because he can actually sang.

He’ll get better in time, I’ll give him a chance.

He is very dated. By this time next year he will be irrelevent.
His lyrical content is not TV worthy. He’s a WSHH artist not a TGJ artist
    Just keeping it real….
