Of course nothing will match the vocals of Britney’s earlier work (pre-cigarettes, vegas partying and career spiral), however, if anyone can bounce back it’s Britney. We haven’t heard a ballad this raw since “Every Time”. The lyrics actually have substance and surely, not the best vocals of her career, but certainly the best we’ve heard since “In the Zone”. I mean at least give her credit for not using any auto-tune and proving to her fans and haters why she still deserves to be the Princess of Pop. Sure “Work B****” was the single to get every one talking. Not really showing us that “Britney Jean” was going to be her most personal album. However, with “Perfume” she’s started something here. And I definitely want to hear more.

Upon first listen, I wasn’t moved. I listened again later.. and a few more times later and it began to grow on me. Quite different for Britney, which is cool. I can appreciate a risk. The vocals are a little odd for me, but the song is a catchy little joint. Gotta love Britney. She’s pop royalty.
