So, with this fact and her former sales figures in mind, her fans had believed the unveiling of her new album ‘Britney Jean’ would bring it with a promotional campaign worthy of the icon’s star power.
A campaign, that would do everything in its power to ensure pulled in commendable sales at worst and mind blowing digits at best. Alas, these fans received quite the shock when the promotional plan employed to push the album felt too ‘relaxed’ for their liking, doing little to give the project a healthy of chance of rocking the charts.
Now, in an interview with ‘USA Today’, the ‘Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know’ singer has revealed why she avoided a ‘Born This Way’– like campaign.

“I love what I do, and at this point in my career, I don’t feel like I have anything to prove. I didn’t do much promotion for the new album for that reason. I don’t feel like I have to do every TV show. I just want to perform and inspire people. When I’m tired and I see one of my dancers pick up my part, they inspire me. I think that’s why we’re here, to inspire each other.”

She´s sweet and all that but I really disagree with her. I´m all for “this artist has nothing left to prove” when that´s true and they reached such a level based on incredible talent that will last for decades or more (even if they don´t have it anymore, I support that). But it´s not Britney´s case. Apart from some dancing skills during 6 years of career or so, she has not big talent for anything. It´s better to retire. There are artists who can still release just cos they love it and for their fans cos “they have nothing else to prove”. But in Britney´s case, it´s not a good look. She´s not memorable like other true musicians-singers.
When an artist has sold what Britney has over her peak time, it really doesn’t matter to her what she sells as the work b1tch is already rich.
