Kanye West’s ‘YEEZUS’ Tops Entertainment Weekly, TIME, and Rolling Stones ‘Best Album Of the Year’ Lists

Published: Wednesday 11th Dec 2013 by Rashad

Call him crazy but…

Genius is genius, says music critics at highly revered publications TiME, Rolling Stones, and Entertainment Weekly.  For, as the ‘year-end’ tallies come rolling in, the aforementioned three have unanimously championed Kanye West‘s 2013 release ‘Yeezus’ as the album of the year.

Beating out the likes of Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, and mentor Jay Z, the news comes just as fans complained of the Recording Academy’s overlook of the critically acclaimed set only giving it 2 nominations (“New Slaves” for Best Rap Song and “Yeezus” for Best Rap Album).

Elsewhere on the list, you can spot Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lorde, and more.  Ready to sound off?

Personally I can’t stand Kanye but that has never stopped me from buying everyone of his albums. Love him or hate him, you’re delusional to deny he’s a musical genius. Yeezus is his best work since College Dropout in my opinion. Blood on the Leaves is my song! I’m surprised Ariana Grande’s albums isn’t on these lists. Her album was one of the bests of the years in my opinion. She needs to find a new team to push her harder, she’s criminally underrated.

  5. LOL December 11, 2013

I have always been a fan of kanye’s music,it’s just that he is always an asshole. He just needs to change his attitude and humble himself. I can’t stand him but you can’t deny that he slays. I always root for his music. And I will be honest and say yeezus was horrible. When he goes back to the studio next year,I hope he will stop his unnecessary rants and obsession with Kim and go back to making good music. He has left too much of a legacy to fall off now.

  7. JOHNVIDAL December 11, 2013

Wow congrats to him! At the end of the day he is so damn talented.
Why is it that the basic girls are always topping irrelevant lists like most viewes on Vevo and the likes and never the quality ones?
Glad Time included Janelle Monae, it´s the ebst album of the year imo.

  8. RoyalKev December 11, 2013

The man will be a legend. I know he has a very difficult personality to deal with, but Kanye’s work shouldn’t ever go unnoticed.

  9. soulmusiclover December 11, 2013

LIEESSS!!! that album is trash and no one can convince me otherwise!

  10. Lovebird (LOUDER – 04.03.14) December 11, 2013

He is a genius, I give him that. I myself enjoy Yeezus, best hip hop album I’ve purchased this year.

Oh and I don’t see Loved me back to life, I guess Karaoke can’t win you any praises now can it. It is after all, very easy to lifelessly sing a ballad and manage with ease to make it the most boring thing out there if your name is Celine.
