The music industry moves at an ever-rapid race – an M.O. Kelly Rowland clearly understands.
For, despite releasing fourth album ‘Talk A Good Game’ this Summer (and with murmurs of a potential re-release this Fall), the ‘Motivation’ maven is already working on its follow-up. The revelation came during a backstage interview following a concert at Washington, DC’s Howard Theatre this week.

While we feel there was more that could have been squeezed out of the recent LP, we’re all for the “on to the next one” motif. What’s more, like Kelly, we’re actually not against the EP idea discussed in the interview either.
It could prove a viable way to grow and mobilize her impressive catalogue without the weightiness, politics, and (to a degree) expectation attached to full-on album roll-outs. And if successful, ala Justin Bieber‘s ‘My World’ series, could then be expanded/repackaged into a full-length LP.
Ideally, though, we’d prefer any such EP concept to be explored when/if Kelly ever decides to re-embrace the Dance-flavoured brilliance that were tracks such as ‘Commander’ and ‘Forever And A Day’ – even if only for Europe. It feels almost criminal that that angle has been phased out.
Whatever the case, we’re – as ever – welcoming of new Ms. Kelly material.
