Chart Check: Pitbull & Ke$ha Dethrone Eminem & Rihanna From Billboard Hot 100 Top Spot

Published: Wednesday 8th Jan 2014 by Rashad

Pitbull seems to have found the key to success – co-stars!  Just ask Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, Ne-Yo, and Jennifer Lopez as they’ve all assisted or been assisted by the hit-making Latino rapper over the past two years.

Now, in co-star Ke$ha, the pop emcee has found a new chart-topper in ‘Timber’ as reports surfaced today the tune is set to hit #1 upon the Billboard Hot 100’s forthcoming refreshing tomorrow.

Ousting 4-week champions Eminem & Rihanna‘s ‘Monster’ out of the top spot, ‘Timber’s ascension comes after weeks of playing second fiddle to the second rap-pop combo from Em & Ri – the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’.  But, will Pit and Ke$h’s run atop the tally be short-lived?

If you ask Katy Perry & Juicy J, the answer may soon be “yes”…

Right after notching its highest sales week to date, Em & Ri’s colossal hit ‘Monster’ slips from #1-#3.

Via Billboard:

“After a four-week wait at No. 2, Pitbull and Ke$ha climb to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with “Timber.” The new leader had held at the runner-up spot while Eminem and featured artist Rihanna reigned for four frames with “The Monster,” which this week slips to No. 3.

With the coronation of “Timber,” Pitbull collects his second Hot 100 No. 1. “Give Me Everything,” featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer, topped the July 9, 2011, ranking. Ke$ha claims her third Hot 100 No. 1; her debut single “TiK ToK” ruled for nine weeks in 2010, while “We R Who We R” crowned the Nov. 13, 2010, tally.”

Wouldn’t this be KE$HA’s 4th #1 because Flo Rida’s “Right Round”? I do suspect that A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera will see a rise in the charts within the next couple weeks. Especially with their debut album coming out in a few weeks. Smells like performances.

Timber is so basic and generic but it’s like a guilty pleasure of mine. Congratulations to Ke$ha and Pitbull.

  6. Go Pit January 8, 2014

the key of his success is the smashes he provides to his duets. Pitbull found his collaborators in the lowest point of his careers, he revives them practically.
Congrats on his new number 1.

Soooooo Dark Horse is still not #1.

I told you Katy has run out of Top 5 hits, she pushed unconditionally to death and it is nowhere in the top ten. She gave those struggle vocals for the gods and heavens to hear and pity her stage struggles and still no top ten.

Dark Horse is lucky TBH. Katy makes catchy pop songs but this PRISM era is cute but stale. Her biggest achievement so far is knocking Gaga off her high horse that I can finally see the old Gaga coming back.

Katy hun, there was a time you ruled the charts with an iron fist, no one could touch you. That time has run out.

There is only so much the “struggle vocals of a Nick Jr artist with good music” people can take, sorry.

  12. Lovebird January 8, 2014

Ke$ha actually deserves this, she has had such a horrible time. Glad to see she is coming back, she is a very talented song writer and has lots of potential if and when she decides to grow.

So good for you Ke$ha, happy for you.

She’ll Get There Soon; Slow & Steady Wins The Race! 😉

  16. Lovebird January 8, 2014

Only #15?? You hives are heartless, you cannot give her her first TOP TEN in 6 years? Shame on you.

  17. Molly January 8, 2014

Happy for Kesha she deserves it hope she makes a speedy recovery.

  18. Mark111 January 8, 2014

  20. molly January 9, 2014

@Lovebird I’ve seen him around he can really sing his ass off you’d never expect that by looking at him. Hes a great talent! Oh and i agree he is a musical genius he has a promising career ahead of him.

  21. molly January 9, 2014

@Mark111 your right this song has grown on me.

  22. FutureCIARA January 9, 2014

    Yes Ke$ha,

    Get it togetha hunny!

  23. JOHNVIDAL January 9, 2014

So mediocre Kesha and Pitbull are useful for once!!! Yay lol
Damage is done though. Rihanna had another quick, forgettable and undeserving #1. They want her to succeed on singles charts before she turns 30 so bad.

PS: What a terrible Top2 we had for the last 4 weeks. I mean come on. What is this trash??? Both terrible and generic songs. Beyonce is not all that as I´ve always said, but she is a Michael Jackson compared to all these. Thankfully albums charts were different so we could endure the month 🙂

  24. Bey Fan January 9, 2014

that trash… Timber is worse than Monster…ughhh. At least with Monster you have 2 talented artists… although the song was a mess to me.

  25. Navy Commander January 11, 2014

What is this blasphemy against the queen?
