Three weeks before they join their peers in celebrating the 56th annual Grammy Awards, Destiny‘s Child have achieved what some might have called impossible today…securing a new #1 album twelve years after parting ways to pursue solo glory!

Wonderful news below…

Helped in part by the sales hype keeping Beyonce‘s new LP atop numerous charts this week, the trio’s 2005  ‘#1s’ best-of offering floats to the top of the UK’s iTunes R&B albums chart, eight years after it surpassed US sales of 1.1 million units and launched Beyonce’s ‘Pink Panther’ pushed piece, ‘Check On It.’

Certified 2x Platinum in Japan, the compilation album’s rise to the top sees them placed one spot above Whitney Houston‘s ‘The Ultimate Collection’ and two places before ‘Ultimate Prince’, the 2006 release by ‘The Belle of St.Mark’ producer Prince.

Then, in finding herself in very good company, Jhene Aiko arrives at #4- doing so via her latest effort ‘Sail Out’ which is currently shifting more units than R.Kelly’s ‘The World’s Greatest (#5)’ and TGT‘s ‘Three Kings (#37).

Meanwhile, #24 welcomes Ciara‘s self-titled offering with open arms, reached thanks to slow but steady sales generated by her fans in the market.

Following its July 8th release, the album peaked at #4 on the Official UK R&B Albums Chart and #7 on Australia’s Urban Chart, and currently shows no signs of leaving the UK’s digital Top 40 thanks to the continued success of its lead single ‘Body Party’ and her budding radio hit, ‘Overdose.’

Elsewhere, the genre’s fastest rising star Sevyn Streeter comes in at #28 with her brand new EP ‘Call Me Crazy, But…’, very telling of her rising popularity in foreign waters.

For, despite lacking the ‘push’ employed to push Akon‘s ‘Freedom’, John Legend‘s ‘Love in the Future’ and Usher‘s ‘Confessions’, ‘Crazy’ currently finds itself outselling them, doing so after its Chris Brown-assisted single ‘It Won’t Stop‘ peaked at #30 on the Billboard Hot 100!

Congratulations to all!
