‘Don’t Speak’ singer/songwriter Gwen Stefani has animation on her mind this year, now that she’s created her very own animated TV series inspired by her long-running ‘Harajuku Lovers’ concept.

Sound exciting?!

We’ve got all the details below!

In an interview with Edward Nardoza‘s ‘Women’s Wear Daily’, the ‘Orange County Girl’ shared:

“We are doing a cartoon for Harajuku Lovers, which is a 52-episode girls cartoon that is insane, it’s so cute. I did the collaborations with OPI and Burton. Harajuku Lovers has a new fragrance coming out, L.A.M.B. is launching e-commerce and music wise I have some things I’m figuring out. I’m just really happy we got to this point with DWP and that it has so much more potential.”

Yet to reveal how the series will reach fans, news of its arrival comes two years after she reunited with No Doubt to birth their sixth studio album, ‘Push and Shove’, and ten years after she delivered her ‘Love.Angel.Music.Baby’ solo debut!

EXCELLENT! Show the world that you made the Harajuku culture popular and Nicki Minaj stole the idea and called herself the Harajuku Barbie without paying you homage. Nicki Minaj also stole the Harajuku perfume bottle design you created. But when an interviewer asks Nicki Minaj why she chose to call herself Harajuku, she does not state your name. Show the world that you are the original Harajuku musical artist.

I am amazed that you don’t see the issue naming an American born white girl as the “barbie” and “original Harajuku musical artist” for something that refers to an actual cultural center and region that exists in Japan. She treats an amazing culture as girls that she can treat as dolls
she can dress up. They are people, not her toys. If you want to watch a cartoon about Harajuku girls, they are very well represented in existing, Japanese created anime available for our appreciation and consumption.

I still play The Sweet Escape till this day. The world isn’t ready for a new Gwen Stefani album but I’m ready to be slayed once again. Her and Fergie for 2014? It’s the mid 2000’s back again.
