‘There You Go’ rocker Pink and ‘Mannequin’ star Katy Perry fly the US’ Pop flag on Australian soil this year, as they dominate the market’s 2013 Year-End charts with their respective releases!

Why the ladies have music lovers going wild down under?

Details below…

Topping the nation’s Year-End singles chart in 2013 was Perry’s ‘Roar’, which spent nine weeks at #1 and an applause worthy 21 weeks in the Top Ten!

Outperforming the smash hit that was Robin Thicke‘s ‘Blurred Lines’, Perry’s pulling power came as Pink’s ‘The Truth About Love’ held court in the Top 40 for the entire year, and has now been certified 8x Platinum thanks to sales of over 560,000 units.

Thanks to these sales, the album tops the market’s Year-End albums tally, shifting more units than LPs released in 2013 despite its September 4th 2012 launch date!

    Wow, I thought America and Canada’s charts were bad, they literally worship Pink there. Australia has the worst taste in music.

    Good for them, I knew Pink was huge in Aussie, didn’t know Katy was.

    Congratulations, well deserved.

    Love Katy so happy for her… Pink is coo but her music bores me.

    Damn it I´ve been noticing Australia really embraces basic stuff like no other country. Pink is not bad but her music is ok, just that. But they have Katy perry leading anything? And I´ve seen Kesha and Jason Derulo getting their biggest generic hits in Australia more than in any other country.
    I´m sure great music also has its success over there sometimes but this is not a good look at all.

    The way Katy is killing it there I expect some massive tour dates! Roar killed it in Australia and PRISM went platinum in less then a week! Aussie KatyCats go hard!

    @JohnVidal
    Just because you don’t like that music doesn’t make it “basic” (such a played out word). They obviously think its great music, since its doing well.
