    Bottom line, they are legends.

I love the fact that they are still performing, but will love it even more if they ever release new music.

Still, they will always be one of the greats for sure.

The shade coming from the young ppl on here is soooo reaching tlc has made their mark in the game and has inspired many ppl with their success and failures… alot of ppl in the industry learn from them about those shady contracts and record label and also learn how to be original and stay true to yourselves them along with Mary J Blige, Aaliyah, and Janet have path the roadway for many females today… So throw shade and shots at them is lame… anyways back on topic these ladies did an awesome job better than the AMA’S I love T-boz as a dancer ( fat and all) she still kills the movements….. GREAT JOB LADIES

  10. B’ROCKA January 31, 2014

This is why theyre the best group ever…..

fukk the haters, tlc is beyond iconic, who cares how big tboz is, the simple fact of the situation is, those ladies are old as majority of our parents, and are still serving it up like they did 20yrs ago!

this performance, hands down, made me want new music!!! im proud of these ladies….ask yourselves, can my mom get up their, for an hour straight, and entertain a packed out house!?!!??

  14. ROSEGOLD January 31, 2014

  16. Mark111 January 31, 2014

TLC! I really enjoyed this show last night. I mean up dancing and clapping with them.

@Super Cisus The only person is fat is Ciara with her baby daddy’s 4th child.

@RICHIE_RICH Nice try, but TLC is at 65 million records sold with CrazySexyCool being over 23 million. You tried tho.

  17. Deon January 31, 2014

I’ve always loved them, Wish Left Eye was still here, they would still be putting out albums

  18. Laila January 31, 2014

Destiny’s Child is better and bigger. DC won a diamond award at the world music awards for best female group of all time based on sales in 2007, the same year that Michael Jackson received his world music diamond award for best selling artist of the year and was award by none other than Beyonce Giselle Knowles. DC did great because of Beysus. And remember TLC came before DC but DC I mean Beyonce and her back up singers still out sold them. Destiny’s child, I mean Beysus and the crew ARE the REAL legendary group.

  19. EveRyder January 31, 2014

TLC ripped that stage lastnight……I was so hype and I am ready for their new album. Their are a lot of young immature self absorbed desrespectful and dumb kids on this site. Smh Fyi TLC is the best selling RnB group of all timeand been in the game 20+ yrs. They still can perform circles around this 20 something yr olds. For the ones talkin about T boz being fat…..get to knw her history of being sickle cell anemia and she had a brain tumor so she is very blessed to still be with us on earth and doing what she loves to does. Get over it hater bcuz TLC4eva so get used to seeing more of them bcuz they ain’t going nowhere.

  20. Mark111 January 31, 2014

DC never outsold TLC, give it up HIVE. DC wasn’t the best and nor is Beyonce, she lose at both titles. Deal with it. Pussycat Dolls also sold 50 million records, so beat them before you come for the Best Selling R&B Girl Group of ALL Time. And the ONLY female group with a Diamond album, and the first to get on.

Diamond album > Made up diamond award

    #oop

  32. Super Cisus January 31, 2014

Thats right destinys child slayed these non singing s*** b****** kii that is when I used beyonce

  33. Molly January 31, 2014

I loved Destinys child because they actually had good singers in their group minus Kelly but their music was way better and more memorable imo.

  34. Katy Perry aka Legend K January 31, 2014

I’m here for soundscan not inflated Sales

  35. Katy Perry aka Legend K January 31, 2014

Bills Bills Bills, Say My Name, Jumpin Jumpin, Survivor, If, Brown Eyes, Girl, Bootylicious…
    Timeless Rnb songs.

I only know ‘Waterfalls & No Scrubs’. From TLC that’s all

  36. Janet Jackson January 31, 2014

    LMAO delusional!
    DC is better than TLC.
    TLC was trash

  37. Molly January 31, 2014

i meant to say Us* Not Use

  38. Super Cisus January 31, 2014

Draggggg Katy! Let these old delusional b****** know that dc slayed every girl group

  39. Janet Jackson January 31, 2014

    Anyways love them both

  40. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@KatyPerry aka Legend K ( WHICH I’M QUESTIONABLE ABOUT BUT ANYWHO) TLC hits are No Scrubs, Unpretty, Redlight Special, Creep, Waterfall, Hat 2 the back, What about your friends, Baby Baby, Baby, Waterfalls, diggin on you, Ain’t 2 proud to beg, and Sleigh Ride which are all timeless classic hits and still are to this very day…. so don’t try to dumb down their hit listen to make destiny’s child seen better matter of fact Destiny’s child didn’t really have success until Say my name ( actual) and survivor really push them to the pop category cause of the DESTINY’S CHILD SCANDAL…. but you are probably tooo young to remember that.. Don’t get me wrong I love DESTINY’S CHILD and all, and yeah they have hits but to say they are timeless is a little bit reaching when TLC’s hit are really TIMELESS…. Destiny’s child debut album did number but not like TLC’s debut album….. Hence is why VH1 and TLC want to tell their story cause the were a multi-platinum group with huge sales but end up filing for bankrupty

  41. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

    list^^^^

  42. Britney stan January 31, 2014

    Lol yall dragging TLC Lmao

  43. E! January 31, 2014

Man, they KILLED it! That’s their best performance in a long time. T-Boz was doing her thang!!! Yes!

  44. anonymous January 31, 2014

I miss TLC. They had a great performance. when are they gonna drop their next album.

  45. Britney stan January 31, 2014

It was hard to watch tbh i felt like Tboz was gonna fall out she looked so tired no tea no shade.

  46. TRUTH_HURTS January 31, 2014

I was actually at this show, it was beyond amazing. I wondered how it would be with just the two of them, but they sure managed to keep the energy up. Such a nostalgic moment. Sometimes even if you dislike someone’s performance when you watch it on TV, you get a different feel from actually being in the audience. The vibe is completely different. Regardless, this show was great being there, and watching it all over again.

  47. anonymous January 31, 2014

@Mark111 you’re right 90s KIDS preferred TLC. 90s BABIES preferred Destiny child but they came out in the late 90s. TLC started recording in 1991. Im a 90s Baby, but I Iike Both groups. both had good music. Younger people on here will favor DC because they grew up with them longer and because Beyonce was in the group.

  48. TRUTH_HURTS January 31, 2014

You mean you 2000 babies, cuz TLC was the 90s, DC was not.

  49. Janet Jackson January 31, 2014

If it wasn’t for Janet Jackson there wouldn’t be them or DC3 or Ciara or Aaliyah WORSHIP THE QUEEN

  50. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@janet Jackson what does that have to do with the topic nobody is not disagreeing with you cause we all love Janet but what does bringing up Janet into this have to do with the topic

  51. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Mark 11 and @anonymous you are both right but these 90’s babies need to know before destiny’s child there were other hugely successful girl groups that path the way for destiny’s child…. and respect that

  52. anonymous January 31, 2014

A lot of TLC haters on here. It really doesnt matter who outsold who. you idiots are alwawys trying make a competition out of everything. both groups were great and were a big part of R&B back then.

  53. eric January 31, 2014

I love seeing them like this! Chilli seemed to REALLY have fun, which made it enjoyable to watch, and T-Boz went the extra step and had the shoulder rolls and all that going on.

  54. Janet Jackson January 31, 2014

They really tried but I will choose to see DC live…
When will they book The Superbowl stage like Destinys Child??

  55. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

I feel people should respect those who came before your faves cause they really put in blood sweat and tears into their craft… back then(i’m a mid 80’s baby and grew up in the 90’s) we didn’t have social media and blogs to tell use about the shady record label and music industry…. they were a lot of one hit wonders that came out in the 90’s and you don’t hear anything from them to this day…. Like Grand Puba said ” Everyone love a STAR when the Star is on Top, but no one come around when the star is about to drop” that statement is sooo true cause back then you can be here today and gone the very same day, now we have itunes ( where you can release music independently without backing from the label) social media and reality tv to keep people current back then we didn’t have those things so I will always show much love to the stars from back then cause they had to literally fight to stay current and original with out following the trend… so to all you 90’s babie out there pay respect cause BEYONCE AND THE REST OF TODAY’S DIVAS wouldn’t be able to last if the Veterans didn’t went thru what they went thru… the stars now take all the mistakes that the veterans done did and learn from them and go the other way about handeling their business and contract unlike the veterans… so show so damn respect to the VETS

  56. eric January 31, 2014

And I finally heard some live vocals! They must’ve been reading my posts, LOL.

  57. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Janet Jackson DC didn’t book a SuperBowl Stage Beyonce did, she just invited them to perform with her… try again

  58. shut up January 31, 2014

It has nothing to do with when you were born. I am a 90’s kid and I prefer DC. DC were more talented imo. They were better singers. TLC couldn’t sing. They were just three girls who randomly got together and had success. They don’t have many classic songs.

TLC only had 3 #1 hits and 9 top tens. 11 top 40 hits They are nothing without eachother.

Destiny’s Child had 4 #1 hits and 10 top ten singles, 13 top 40 hits

    DC>>>>>

  59. Janet Jackson January 31, 2014

But DC had the main stage on Superbowl

  60. Barb 4 lyfe January 31, 2014

What was so special about TLC they couldn’t sing! Atleast every girl in DC had some actual vocal talent.

  61. Istanformusic January 31, 2014

LOL at these people on here really trying to make DC out to be bigger just cause yall grew up on them. some of Yall haters know yall was tuning in to that TLC movie on VH1. It had 4 million viewers which was record breaking for vh1 so its obvious TLC is still able to generate interest.

I did hear TLC outsold DC, If its true theirs nothing you can do about it unless DC goes back into the studio. At the end of the day TLC was really the 90s. Destinys child was the early 2000s and TLC paved the way for future girl groups. If left eye hadnt of died, TLC would have continued on with at least one or two more albums.

  62. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Janet Jackson Nope try again Beyonce have the main stage the rest have a few minutes on the stage, Pepsi endorse Beyonce and the SuperBowl pay Beyonce not DC…. and What was special about TLC was (yes the wasn’t vocally strong as destiny’s child) their have a unique sound not speeding thru lyric ( song like Bug A Boo, No, No, NO,) They all have a part in their group T-boz was the cool laid back one with a raspy unique voice, Chilli was the s*** one, and Lisa was Crazy with a child like rap to go along with it.. That is more original then what other girl groups did, where this is one as the lead and a second girl sing mostly the bridge or b-section and the remainer sings the chorus… The only two girl group that really show their vocal ability were Xscape and EnVouge, later on SWV Started to do it

  63. shut up January 31, 2014

LOL @ the same people trying to make TLC out to be bigger just because they came out before DC. People on this blog act like it’s a must to respect singers/artists that came before. When in actuality if you don’t like them, you just don’t like them. No shade. People tuned into that low budget movie because it was overhyped and eventually got poor reviews . It was also forgot about by the next week. TLC had their time. They were lucky. None of them could have gone on to solo superstar status. Left tried and failed. Chili is nothing more than a pretty face, and Tboz isn’t very interesting with that dry voice.

    DC>>>
    http://youtu.be/VckhpKXPwdY

  64. JOSE January 31, 2014

I’ve never seen any source say DC is the best selling girl group of all time. That Diamond award is fake. Billboard, even Wiki, show DC in 3rd or 4th place at best. Never 1st or 2nd. It’s always been Spice Girls and TLC. This is what BB said.

“According to the RIAA, the top selling female act of all time in the United States is the Dixie Chicks (with 28.5 million album shipments), with TLC (22 million) in the runner-up position.”

Also, DC was garbage. It was Bey and company. Each member in TLC had something unique to bring. T-boz’s smooth, sultry vocals, Chili was s*** R&B, and Left-Eye the rapper. Each member played a unique role. With DC, everyone faded into the background behind Bey.

  65. Laila January 31, 2014

Again. DC won a diamond award for best selling female group of all time. They outsold TLC. #fact. DC shat all over TLC. DC hasn’t released an album in years but, will stil s*** all over TLC if they had to perform together. Did you see DC in that superbowl appearance? Now when will TLC ever? And don’t use left eye’s death as an excuse, cause DC has to tolerate Michelle and even if it was just Beyonce and kelly vs Chilli and T-Boz, DC would s*** all over them.

  66. Loserz January 31, 2014

SWV sang much better than DC and their first album wasn’t a flop like DC lol (800k vs 3 million). As usual, egos got in the way and they broke up but DC didn’t blow until the breakup drama.

  67. shut up January 31, 2014

It’s not Beyonce’s fault that she was the most talented and recognized member of DC. She is really the main purpose for the success of the group. Nobody complained when Diana Ross was the Lead in the supremes, or Micheal jackson, or Justin Timberlake. Every group has it’s lead singer(focal point). TLC had Tboz who sung majority of the songs. Chilli sung a little, and Left Eye barely got a chance to say anything. They were just background personalities. More famous for their personalities overall. Not really talent.

Spice Girls, TLC, and DC are the top three WORLDWIDE. I don’t even see Dixie Chicks on the list, i guess because they were LOCAL

  68. Loserz January 31, 2014

DC music was forgettable pop bubblegum b*******. Their most memorial songs were corny Survivor and Bootylicious. TLC has so many iconic looks and songs such as Waterfalls, Creep, Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg, Red light special, Unpretty, No Scrubs and they all
Brought something special to the table. DC was simply a stepping stool for Beyonces solo career. Michelle and Farrah were put in the group because they looked like LeToya and LaTavia not because of their vocal ability. Michelle’s voice was like nails on chalkboard it’s gotten much better, Farrah could hardly hold a note, Beyonces voice sounded like a fire engine siren and Kelly was always outta breath lol

  69. shut up January 31, 2014

DC first Album is @ 4 million WW. SWV didnt have longevity or commercial success. They are now doing low budget reality tv shows 🙁

  70. Loserz January 31, 2014

    Memorable**

  71. shut up January 31, 2014

    SWV-1992
    DC-1997

  72. Loserz January 31, 2014

Receipts that DC is at 4 million ww? They were local also until the break up drama. So you mean to tell me that they sold 800k in USA and an additional 3.2 worldwide? Lmao yeah right

  73. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Shut up unlike DC tlc were unique girl group with meaningful message behind their music, What about your friends was about friends who turn out to be fake and if they really are you true friends, hat 2 the back and unpretty was about accepting who you are , ain’t 2 proud to beg was about safe s**, no scrub was a female empower anthem, fanmail was for the fans, waterfall was people always thinking the grass was always green but in reality it isn’t, dc hit survivor was about sruvive the hate and failures, girl was a personal song for kelly hints dirty laundry, and the other hits from dc were about nothing just regular songs, this is why people and bilboard put them as the greatest girl group after the spice girl ( tlc is who i’m talking about) because their songs have special meaning… each memember of tlc play their part very well hence their second album crazysexycool, was name after their alteregos…. don’t get me wrong i like destiny’s child but everyone knew beyonce was the lead and breakout star of the group… where as tlc everyone play a part….

  74. Loserz January 31, 2014

I am not an SWV stan anyway im just saying they sang better since f*** were saying dc had the best voices

  75. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Laila you along with @janetjackson try again yes kelly and michele was on the stage with beyonce but for like 5 minutes the rest was all beyonce so stop with the destiny’s child perform on the superbowl cause if beyonce wasn’t on the superbowl stage dc wouldn’t even seen the superbowl stage…. so save those reciept for another agrument cause they are irrelevant now….

  76. shut up January 31, 2014

I’m sorry but who even remembers those TLC songs? Destiny’s Child stood for women empowerment. Survivor, Independent Woman, Say my name, Emotion, Girl, stand up for love. ETC

The only thing the members of TLC bought to the table were fashion, hairstyles, and personality. It was not their talent. Neither of them could sing. Chilli has a tiny horrible voice. Tboz sounded like she swallowed nails, and Left eye maybe rapped twice. The reason they are irelevant now. They were just young and hip.
The Supremes was a stepping stool for Diana’s career, The Jackson Five was a stepping stool for Micheal. Nsync for Justin, The pips for Gladys. It’s only a problem when it’s Beyonce. LOL

  77. Laila January 31, 2014

I watched the 2007 World music awards and I saw it with my own eyes. DC received the diamond award for best selling female group of all time. Google it if you must. It was the year they wear honouring all the greats, based on commercial success. Michael Jackson received the diamond award for best selling artist of all time and it was presented to him by the beautiful Beyonce. And some famous rock band received a diamond award for some award related to tours or something. Beyonce is the greatest. She walk like this cause she can back it up. Have you not learnt? If DC were to perform vs TLC, DC would embarrass them. Did you not watch the superbowl performance? Whether it was. A Beyonce concert or not the fact of the matter 59 perform and they slayed. When will TLC ever? And don’t use Left eye’s death as an excuse her cause DC has to tolerate Michelle, even if it was just Kelly and Beyonce. Slay. Now I won’t even start comparing the solo careers of the different groups. And don’t say they never tried to go solo cause Left eye tried but…. Let her rest in peace. But Destiny’s Child is bigger then, Spice girls, the Supremes, TLC and what ever girl group that ever existed.

  78. Loserz January 31, 2014

Lol Kelly and michelle were charity cases. That was Beyonces show. She slayed it,the others were an after thought. I will say that dc is the only group that had every member experience some
Sort of success. Only Beyonce and letoya have platinum solo albums though. Crazy, right???

  79. the truth honey January 31, 2014

Honey these young sissies comn for TLC kii!! @ANY ciara stan can eat ass. For u slutty hlez to even try it is an embarrassment chile. And @brittney stan….R U SERIOUS?! M********* u should slit yo wrist b4 u com for ANYones performance when Britney caint move more than 3step without needn a cigarette break. *Flip weave*

  80. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

TLC were worldwide before destiny’s child their first album ios 4x platinum where as DC FIRST IS 3x their second album was 11x platinum where as DC IS 8X THEIR 3RD Album is 6x platinum where as DC was 4x.. the only time dc actually outsold tlc is on their fourth album which was 3x platinum and tlc was platinum

  81. Loserz January 31, 2014

Diana did get flack for being a b**** and a diva. She got it all the time. Beyonce did not get flack until the breakup when everyone started to hate her. The issue was that the group
Was built around her and the other girls got worse treatment. Beyonce was a b**** back then *watches the video where she shades Kelly* lolololol

  82. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Shut Up everyone remember a TLC SONG BEFORE A DC song… there are alot of reciepts for that answer….

  83. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

tlc, and swv are the only girl group with all the original memember still in tact

  84. shut up January 31, 2014

Destiny’s child got their first top ten hit with their first album, and Bills bills bills was #1 before the break up drama. An irrelevant local group wouldn’t have caused so much interest in a break up if they werent already popular. I highly doubt people would have cared if SWV broke up or not. Try another excuse please.
SWV may have sung better to you, but this conversation was about TLC and DC. DC had wayyyyyyyyy better voices. 😉

  85. Loserz January 31, 2014

Their old vocal coach even admitted that Matthew had Beyonce sing some of their entire songs to “save time” what kind of s*** is that?

  86. Istanformusic January 31, 2014

@Shut up yeah and guess what people still watched it. regardless of what yall think of the movie. maybe you didnt but others did. and yall act like its a must that people have to like destiny child just because beyonce was in the group. everybody on here is so biased and will kiss Beyonce’s ass no matter what. their voices were really not that special. personally I thought En Vogue had the best vocals out of all the groups. Album sales dont really dont matter to me either.

  87. Loserz January 31, 2014

Yet TLC is much more iconic f*** outta here lol

  88. shut up January 31, 2014

Where are your reciepts of the group being based on Beyonce’s career? Kelly got to sing, Michelle also sung. It just so happened that Beyonce was the focal point of the group. The person that most people were interested in. The only person with the “it” factor. Which is further proved by her solo career success today.

  89. the truth honey January 31, 2014

HEAR YE HEAR YE!!!! IF U A FUNKY NICKI STAN U HAV NO RIGHT TO BREATH TIL ROMAN REFLOP with it 2826373917373 singles, GOES PLATINUM!!!! (pats ass at nicki stans)

  90. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

and If we talking about voice, EnVogue voice will slay DC… i mean they don’t call them funky divas for nothing

  91. Istanformusic January 31, 2014

and LOL at flopera Katy and Britney stans talking about somebodys voices. have a seat.

  92. ABC January 31, 2014

TLC ruled from 92-2000. I was born in 91 and I know that. You couldn’t escape TLC on the radio or tv. Everyone wanted to dress up like them for Halloween, everyone wanted to go to their concerts, everyone wanted to know their personal drama. DC didn’t get their big break until Say My Name smashed in 2000(during the overly publicized breakup) then they ruled until 03 when Bey went solo, came back from 04-05 then broke up for good.

  93. JOSE January 31, 2014

@LOSERZ EXACTLY! DC had forgettable music, bubblegum crap music. They have no classics. CrazySexyCool>any DC album. FACT.No one takes DC seriously besides Beyonce’s delusional stan base. PLUS, Tlc would KILLLL DC in live performances.

Beyonces legacy > Destinys Child (although she sold more as a member of DC).

  95. shut up January 31, 2014

  96. Stephy Tha Lambily January 31, 2014

There people go again throwing that LEGEND word to every old person from the 90s who had LITTLE success then flopped harder after only a good 2 REAL successful era’s…

  97. ABC January 31, 2014

@Stephy is that shade to TLC? They had three massively successful eras and their least successful (post Left Eye) went platinum. When did they flop?

  98. anonymous January 31, 2014

you’re right @shut up. I liked TLC, and some of their music but i do believe they were more praised for the fashion than the actual music. They had great songs with meaning as well but the singing and talent was subpar to me

  99. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Shut Up One tribute to DC DOESN’T Make them better sorry try again….

  100. Laila January 31, 2014

All DC went solo, they all had a chance and still do. And for all information Beyonce always released her album after the others released theirs to give them a chance without any competition. So its not Beyonce’s fault that they aren’t doing as well as her. Noone is better than her. She didn’t release an album for some time, she gave everyone a chance to do well but when that unholy rapture happened on the 13 of December 2013 she shat on everyone outsold everyone, she gave them a year to do well, goodness she gave them years but now people blame Beyonce for not giving others a chance cause quite frankly DC’s success is because of Beyonce without her, and Matthew then there wouldn’t be DC.

  101. Mark111 January 31, 2014

I go to the gym and come back and these kids are still at it. Lol, haters spend too much energy these days on someone who’s “a lesser”. I stated my facts, DC numbers never topped TLC’s. Plus the world loved each member of TLC, no one give a s*** about those other 5 backup singers.

    DC: A Musical Chairs Film.

  102. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

and if you listen closely to the production on Survivor it was unfinished and horrible, actual that was not the worst but is wasn’t good as the rest of dc albums… The wirting’s on the wall have more hits than survivor…. both dc along with tlc play into the female empowerment.. both songs were both written by kandi but she said herself she collect more checks from NO SCRUBS THAN BILLS BILLS BILLS, AND BUG A BOO

  103. ABC January 31, 2014

TLC wasn’t a vocal group, but T-Boz had a unique, distinct voice and could carry a tume, Chilli sang well (she wasn’t a church saaanga but she could sing), and left eye was a dope lyricist. What they did took TALENT! They could perform like no other girl group, and they made statements. Plus they could sing live. They didn’t depend on studio magic and autotune like most singers of today. Check youtube for receipts.

  104. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Stephy if TLC IS A FLOP than what Make Mariah cause as I remember very album after Honey didn’t do very well until 2005 how can you forget Glitter

  105. anonymous January 31, 2014

If the world “loves” each member of TLC so much, why don’t they each have atleast ONE successful solo era? They debuted in the early 90’s. Sales were slightly better then. Other than that. DC could get back together tomorrow and slay the world. Can’t say the same for TLC 🙁

  106. ABC January 31, 2014

Only left eye went solo and even then her album wasn’t available everywhere. Left Eye challenged them to released solo albums as a matter of fact but they weren’t interested. Chilli had personal drama and T-Boz was ill. You can only make that statement if all of them released albums.

  107. Laila January 31, 2014

All DC went solo, they all had a chance and still do. And for all information Beyonce always released her album after the others released theirs to give them a chance without any competition. So its not Beyonce’s fault that they aren’t doing as well as her. Noone is better than her. And the fact that DC came after TLC but still outsold them proves that DC is better, and bigger. TLC dress like tomboys.

  108. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Laila why are you more focus on beyonce’s success when we are talking about group success… see you prove all the old heads point… beyonce has more success as a solo instead of a group…. yea left eye try and fail but as a group their sales killed DC…. THANK YOU

  109. ABC January 31, 2014

TLC had their time. They have been away from the spotlight for 12 years. Of course they wouldn’t slay wtf. Plus they’re 40+ years old. It’s an entirely new generation. Their last album was released in 02 and went platinum. They have no flops under their belts.

  110. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@ABC you know your history impressing teach these young ones

  111. JOSE January 31, 2014

But no one would make a movie about DC because they have no legacy like tlc.

  112. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@jose and because the real truth will come out that people been saying for years

  113. ABC January 31, 2014

We can sit here all day and debate about who sold more. Some sources say TLC and some say DC. No one has the true receipts, but with CSC selling 20+ million alone I think I’ll drift towards them. I’m not taking anything away from DC but why put TLC down when they are trailblazers?

  114. anonymous January 31, 2014

Destiny’s child has been away from the spotlight(as a group) for 9 years. Except for the superbowl performance. What I am saying is true talent ALWAYS prevails. The DC girls were able to keep themselves relevant without eachother, and they could generate more interest in a comeback album even in their 30’s. that’s all 😀

  115. ABC January 31, 2014

@Musicstan I won’t sit here and watch legends get slandered. S*** I was just taking up for DC the other day when some queens were claiming DK was better lol.

  116. KenKen January 31, 2014

Just know Waterfalls and/or No Scrubs TRUMPS all those DC songs by itself ha ha. Both those songs was waaaay more popular than ANY DC song.

  117. anonymous January 31, 2014

LOL@ no one would make a movie about DC. I’m pretty sure within the next ten to twenty years we will be getting a biopic of DC and Beyonce. Beyonce is well on her way to becoming a legend, and I’m sure it won’t be a low budget tv movie either 🙂 noshade

  118. shut up January 31, 2014

Destiny’s child will have a biopic simply because of Beyonce and the break up drama

  119. ABC January 31, 2014

Null. And. Void. DC has been away, but Beyonce and Kelly haven’t gone anywhere. No ones checking for Michelle but I assume she’s been around also. T-Boz and Chilli VANISHED after they released 3D. Talent has nothing to do with presence. Some of the most talented singers have taken long breaks, tried to come back and flopped…

  120. ABC January 31, 2014

Miss Perfect Beyonce would never allow a DC biopic hahahhaaha. Maybe a Beyonce biopic. People want the TRUTH, the whole TRUTH and nothing but the truth and the true story will never be told. I don’t think they’re allowed to have a biopic anyway because of the lawsuits lmao.

  121. Laila January 31, 2014

I focus on Beyonce because I’ve always loved her from way back then. DC received an award for best selling female group of all time. DC outsold TLC. TLC was in the industry longer but DC outsold TLC. And sales do matter. People love good music, I still play survivor.

  122. shut up January 31, 2014

They vanished because they were nothing without Left Eye. Their last album underperformed compared to their previous efforts. They couldn’t even generate any type of interest as solo artists. They need each other. Beyonce and Kelly had the talent to go solo and still achieve success.

  123. shut up January 31, 2014

    chili’s solo effort:

“Thomas began working on her solo album in 2000 after the completion of promotion for TLC’s third album, FanMail. She ceased production when work began on the next TLC album, 3D. In 2006, rumors of having signed a four-album deal with singer/rapper Akon’s label Kon Live Distribution in 2006, she later denied these reports and confirmed that she was entertaining offers from other record labels. It was confirmed that the name of the album would be titled Bi-Polar, but due to scheduling conflicts and constant delays, the album was shelved. The album was once rumored to include work by Missy Elliott as well as tracks produced by T-Pain, and Tricky. Certain tracks that were intended for the album were leaked from 2006 to 2008. A track titled “Gameproof,” which featured her TLC band mate T-Boz, was leaked in spring 2006. On February 16, 2007, “Straight Jack,” a track featuring Missy Elliott and produced by Polow da Don was leaked. The track entered the Deutsche Black Chart in at #35.[9] In early April 2008, Thomas’s first official solo single, “Dumb, Dumb, Dumb” was released.[10] No further singles have been announced or leaked.
In 2012, Thomas appeared as the leading lady in R&B singer Tyrese’s music video for his single “Nothing On You”.

    Tried and failed

  124. shut up January 31, 2014

    TBOZ solo effort:

“In addition to her work with TLC, Watkins recorded solo singles, including: “Touch Myself” (For the soundtrack of the 1996 film Fled) and “My Getaway” (for the soundtrack to the 2000 film Rugrats in Paris: The Movie.) In addition, she has been a featured vocalist on such songs as: “Ghetto Love” with Da Brat, “Changes” with Society of Soul, “He Say She Say” with Keith Sweat, “Different Times” with Raphael Saadiq and “Be Somebody” with Paula Cole. Watkins has appeared on a song by her TLC bandmate Rozonda Thomas, entitled “Gameproof”.

    Remember any of this?

  125. ABC January 31, 2014

But does Chilli have an album available for purchase? Could I go on iTunes right now and buy a Chilli album? No. Only Left eye had a limited release solo album. Beyonce has 5, Kelly has 4(3 of which flopped) and Michelle has ummm 2 or 3? Chilli has 0 and so does T-Boz so come again.

  126. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

Oh lawd… look TLC and talent should not even be in the same sentence. They were innovative. They were a different “type” of female group. But left-eye was the only one writing music who actually had talent.

Crazy S*** Cool imo is a classic. One of my top 10 favorite albums. But Im not about to do this “they were legends” s***. They were one of the most innovative girl groups. They were someone’s idea bought to reality.

As far as sales… this debate keeps going on and on. I don’t know who sold more. But I know DC and TLC sales are close (within 5-10 million).

  127. ABC January 31, 2014

I’m sorry, all of Kelly’s albums flopped. She couldn’t even go platinum after “Dilemma” smashed. Kelly and Michelle were lucky enough to still be signed with Matthew until they dropped him for paying them dust.

  128. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Laila yet your answer is taking us no where… I l;ove beyonce too just as the next person but we are talking about dc and tlc as a group not solo… Yea all dc went solo but they broke up at the height of their careers … ask beyonce, kelly or michelle why not dc reunion album since everyone love them so much…. I’ll wait….. Kelly, michelle are down but Beyonce isnt.. releasing a album with one new song and all the old material is not a reunion album…. yea tlc did the same thing but they are releasing new music this year… where is destiny’s child and fans been begging since 05 for new music…. appearing on stage to perform hit at a beyonce show is not a comeback it just her singing the medleys with a little help…. So please stop with this Everyone love Dc by theirselves business!!! No everyone love Beyonce by herself and other just want her to get back with the group for one more album…. Tlc are back cause they love the music kelly and michelle want to get back cause they can’t get anywhere else without beyonce let’s face facts

  129. ABC January 31, 2014

T-Boz also wrote music. “Unpretty” was one of her poems that they turned into a song. I’m not sure if Chilli wrote.

  130. shut up January 31, 2014

Posts again. She couldn’t release an album because of the “constant” delays. In other words she was having Ashanit problems 😉 Chili would have flopped just as bad, but atleast Kelly has successful singles by herself, and Michelle has achieved solo success in the gospel genre 😉

  131. JOSE January 31, 2014

LOL. TLC was a group. They completed each other whereas DC was a one man show. That’s why it’s called a group.

And girl stop, Kelly had like one successful semi-relevant R&B single. Success? And TLC still sold more & had more impact musically which is why their album made the 500 best albums of all time list. I didn’t see DC. No one but their ghetto stanbase thinks they have a legacy.

  132. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

T-Boz also wrote music. “Unpretty” was one of her poems that they turned into a song. I’m not sure if Chilli wrote.

Thanks @ABC … see i learned something. I use to hate the song unpretty. Until I saw the video.

  133. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

hence why Kelly doesn’t promote herself … in reality she know she needs bey…. Kelly is huge overseas but in The United States it is Beyonce’s world over here… Michelle did gospel and was huge in that genre but in the r&b not so much…. Like I say before I love DC but let’s face fact TLC has reciepts that are proven…. Three of their album did HUGES NUMBER BY ITSELF, AND THEY WERE SELLING OUT ARENAS WITH ALL THREE ALBUMS… NOT SAYING DC DIDN’T DO IT.. BUT DC THREE ALBUM PERFORM WELL BUT NOT LIKE TLC… IT WAS ONLY THEIR FOURTH STUDIO EFFORT THAT OUTSOLD TLC….

  134. ABC January 31, 2014

And that’s fine lol. Who knows, Chilli might’ve smashed but we would never know because it didn’t come to fruition. At the end of the day we are discussing groups. Idk how we got so far into solo careers. I was here simply to say that TLC legendary status cannot be denied. Stop bogging up DC to put TLC down on THEIR post!

  135. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

LOL. TLC was a group. They completed each other whereas DC was a one man show. That’s why it’s called a group.
    ___________________________________________

TLC were 3 random girls thrown together and given nicknames. 3 girls who did not collaboratively create anything.

And T-boz sang most of the leads. She was the lead vocalist. The difference was they had left-eye rapping. And if they wasn’t a rap verse left eye just stood there.

DC grew up together and sang together until their career took off. They sang together from the time they were 8 and 9. How can give TLC credit for being more of group? I dont get it

  136. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@ABC I don’t why these young kids are talking about solo when the convo is about groups… comparing Beyonce’s ,kelly’s amd michele’s solo success to a group success is reaching… Yea beyonce have more success as a solo artists but as a group no…. hence why they went solo…..

  137. ABC January 31, 2014

Bey fan they get credit for being a group because they WERE a group. Tboz and Left Eye knew each other. The real founding member Crystal was the one that put them together. Chilli was her replacement. En Vogue didn’t grow up together. Frank Gatson held auditions and formed them. Does that make them any less of a group?

  138. shut up January 31, 2014

Hun TLC had TBOz as the lead singer. Did she not sing majority of the songs like Beyonce song majority of the songs?? Chili had parts here and there, and Kelly had her parts. Left Eye was just there for the most part. The reason why she was OVER them and wanted to go solo.

All successful groups have had LEAD singers. I don’t see the point you are trying to make, other than the LAME anti- Beyonce wasps who make a big deal out of Beyonce getting most of the shine! When there were Micheals, Diana’s before her! IDGI

In conclusion. DC is still relevant and could comeback tonight and SLAY. TLC had their time when they were young and hot. Kinda like Rihanna. She will fizzle out once she matures in age 😀

  139. ABC January 31, 2014

@musicStan I agree! I liked DC don’t get me wrong and I usually don’t participate in these type of DC/TLC discussions but the TLC bashing was unnecessary. TLC was always my fav group because they weren’t your typical doo-wop diva group.

  140. ABC January 31, 2014

Get your facts right. Left Eye was over them because she had people in her ear pumping her head up. She wanted more creative control when it came to image and videos, which they gave her. She was the mastermind the whole futuristic Fanmail era.

  141. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@Beyfan Yes DC grew Up with each but that was the original memeber Michelle was throw into the group at last min, ( check youtube on why say my name didn’t have much adance routine when it was suppose, they where all over the place and michelle had to let the step as she got into the group, hence why Lativa and Letoya were suing Beyonce Kelly and Matthew over vocals) and They were about 6 or 7 memebers in GIRL TYMES BEFORE THE DOWN IT TO FOUR MEMBER AND LETOYA WASN’T AN ORIGINAL MEMBER OF GIRLS TYMES ( TAKE A LISTEN TO THE BEGINNING OF *****FLAWLESS****) YEA TLC WERE THROW TOGETHER ALSO BUT LET’S NOT ACT LIKE DESTINY’S CHILD WASNT NEITHER

    @Music Stan…

    What are you saying?!?

Mariah Carey has already sold 100+ albums before Glitter was ever even herd of.

    Mariah Carey’s Rainbow was a success! It sold 10 Million Albums & Produced 2 Number 1 Hits…

Mariah Carey has already released 9 multi-Platinum/Diamond selling albums before Glitter.

She already had reached legend status by 2000.

She also wrote her music & prduced 12 of her 14 number 1 hits of the 90s…

TLC had great success with CRAZY S*** COOL & FANMAIL & TLC TIP but they were not legends.

They were just simply a huge act from the 90s. Iconic Girl Group.

Mariah Carey had already outsold thier entire catalogue with just 2 era’s.

Glitter was a flop but that was her 10th album. She was gonna have a flop album sometime in her career after 9 successful albums!

Also, TLC did not write those huge hits they were apart of.

The Emancipation came out 15 years after Mariah’s debut. What artist from 1990 is still relavent & produced a 6xplatinum album in the 2000s let alone sell over 200+ ALBUMS alone…

    Music Stan Bye Mr. Man

  145. JOSE January 31, 2014

What does growing up together have to do with anything? I’m confused. Yes, TLC was a different group because they relied solely on their talent to sell. When they first came out, they made a statement with the baggy clothes(and wearing condoms). They didn’t sell s** that’ why they were different. Also, they were very innovative with their sound and their music was diverse.

Like I said earlier, yes, T-Boz was the lead most of time but they each brought something different. What did DC bring? It was Beyonce and company. They could sing yes but they weren’t anything different. Nothing unique. Michelle didn’t even fit the group. She seemed awkward.

  146. shut up January 31, 2014

That’s basically what I’m saying. She wanted more control, she wanted more of a voice in the group. She didn’t feel like her talent was being showcased. She was basically a “background” singer herself. Only thing is she wasnt even singing LOL

  147. shut up January 31, 2014

@Stephy you still didn’t answer my question you call tlc a flop cause their last album but yet Mariah’s album after 05 didn’t see the same numbers… so giving me thos early reciept of mariah is irrelevant what i’m trying to say is tlc and mariah were both successful in the 90’s…. but calling them a flop when all their album sold and charted is reaching…. The same way how the Hive call Mariah a flop and you get upset is the same how I feel about TLC i’m not a stan but a fan of them and they pay their dues just like Mariah so…. Sit down

  150. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

My point, how are some people saying that TLC is more of a group than DC?

  151. JOSE January 31, 2014

    @SHUT UP

They sure were! DC was #83 with Writings on the Wall. CrazySexyCool was #57. I still didn’t see DC on the 500 best albums of all time list though. Guess music experts don’t like garbage?

  152. Istanformusic January 31, 2014

Since when did TLC Flop?? they 3 platinum albums and 1 diamond album. their lowest selling album was 3D and it still went platinum. and none of them had solo careers except Left eye so how can you say their solo careers flopped? Left eyes album wasnt even released everywhere.

  153. ABC January 31, 2014

@strephy so you’re telling me that Mariah’s 10 years of success (1990-2000) made her a legend, but TLCs 8 years (1992-2000), well 10 if you wanna be technical (1992-2002) didn’t? Because she sold more and released more albums during that time period? That’s bull…

  154. ABC January 31, 2014

    @stephy*

  155. shut up January 31, 2014

TLC did not rely solely on their talent, ESPECIALLY after you made this statement

“TLC was a different group because they relied solely on their talent to sell. When they first came out, they made a statement with the baggy clothes(and wearing condoms). ”

Since when does fashion have anything to do with talent. They were trend-setters and they sold an image. But they changed their look DRASTICALLY with the second album, with a more mature sound and s*** look. Also is when their sales increased. You saying Michelle didn’t fit the group is subjective, being that they went on to be more successful with her apart of the group. DC never really sold s** either. They just had a s*** look. They were often compared to The Supremes.

  156. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

AND @Stephy TLC have reach Legend status by 99….. so their are legend that is like saying the Supreme or the jackson aren’t legend… Outta Here…. supreme started the girl group trend, TLC path the way for other girl groups hence after the success of tlc that when SWV, TOTAL, xscape, 702, jade, brownstone, destiny’s child, spice girls, danity kane, dream and etc etc… Yeah Envouge came out before them but the were following the supreme mode hence why they can’t seem to stay together… Tlc was original and unique… R&B with a Twist of Hip-Hop element…. with a powerful Message about meaningful things not about butterflies and rainbows and glitter….. what was mariah doing trying out to be a part of Lisa Frank Collection Outta Here ( and those song came out after she done hit her prime) ( and all my old heads now what I’m talking about with Lisa Frank)

  157. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

“They didn’t sell s**” …. TF? They promoted safe s**. Did you not see Red Light Special video? Creep? Hands in the air? Get it Up?

LMAOOOO…. ok IM done. Their music was more sexual than Destiny’s CHild.

And I was comparing growing up together at ages 8 and 9 vs being thrown together at 18 and 19.

And hell i can say the same thing… Beyonce was like the mother figure. Kelly was the sweet girl. Latavia was the one with the attitude. Letoya was the sassy one. Hell here’s a better one…. Beyonce was alto, Kelly was soprano, Michelle was tenor.

  158. ABC January 31, 2014

    Welp Nevermind

  162. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@abc cause no one can really slander both destiny’s child nor tlc cause they have proven reciepts so that is why… but these destiny’s child fans are still holding on to beyonce’s solo career… as a reciept to destiny’s child

  163. Laila January 31, 2014

People can love any group or artist, every lessor has fans who think their fave is legendary. I don’t you liking TLC so long as TLC knows their place, that is under DC. So please, the lessor must know their place and except the laws of life. Now repeat after me; I stan for a lessor but I love them anyway, I except that DC is and has always been better than my fave. Amen. There, there well done, here is a cookie for you. *giggles* I’m just playing with ya’ll, I admit to trolling. *Laughs* I won’t bother yall again, you can have your post.
But in all seriousness DC outsold TLC and I’m not trolling I’m stating facts.

  164. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

For the record…. I give TLC all their due credit. They are one of my favorites and CSC is one of my favorite albums. Hell after the movie I went and downloaded the album again. Its a classic.

But IM not gonna discredit another group to make one seems like they were the better group.

TLC was the s***. Music was the s***. And I loved em.

  165. Naomi January 31, 2014

If you prefer DC thats your pergative. Has nothing to do with age. Oh and DC were better singers. Lisa was the only one with real talent in TLC. She was underrated. Chilli and T Boz were kinda basic and just like glorified dancers.

  166. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

    @BeyFAN LOL@ michelle being a tenor lol

  167. Naomi January 31, 2014

Lisa was the jack of all trades, I loved her for that.

  168. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

@ABC yeah.. people are having different opinions without insulting each other. Without name calling. And honestly there isn’t much shade being thrown (well maybe a little).. this almost never happens in a post on TGJ

  169. Naomi January 31, 2014

    Perogative*

  170. JOSE January 31, 2014

I didn’t say clothes=talent. I said that’s what made them DIFFERENT. They didn’t sell s** is all. The condoms represented safe s** since that was such an issue in the 90s. Yes, they matured as they grew up but they were never overtly vulgar or s***. They came into the game selling talent, they didn’t want to sell their looks like most girl groups.

  171. anonymous January 31, 2014

@Shut up LOL at you saying DC were compared to the supremes. since when??? I like DC, but the only group from the 90s that were compared to the supreames was EnVogue with their style and vocals. they had had the best vocals out of all the groups.

  172. Sandra January 31, 2014

TLC is the best female group ever! So many classic songs and videos. TLC is the best selling american girl group of all time #Fact
No other american girl group in the 90s had the success and impact of TLC. R.I.P ‘Left Eye’ Lisa Lopes

  173. Bey Fan January 31, 2014

Lisa was the jack of all trades, I loved her for that.

    ____________________________

*claps hand* …That what TLC had… Left eye. She was what separated TLC from any other girl group.

@Jose .. but selling the idea of safe s** is still selling s**. And “Shake Dat M*****” and “Aint to Proud to Beg” was on their first album. They talked about s** and d****. I mean cmon.

Now they wore baggy clothes during their first era… but they also wore condoms. If you see a condom, you think about s**. Again, I dont see anything wrong with it. Hell that one of the reasons i loved them

They sold the idea of s** in the beginning. I think he’s saying they didn’t “sell s**” because they didn’t dress provocatively… but thats not the only way to “sell s**”.

  179. ROSEGOLD January 31, 2014

There ya have it, ladies & gentlemen. Spice Girls reign supreme, with TLC and DC closing out the top three. I prefered Destinys Child because I sing and relate to singers more, but TLC sold more. I loved them too.

  180. shut up January 31, 2014

They didn’t sell their image. They really did. Maybe not as s** symbols, but as hip hop/baggy jeans. Their image is what helped their popularity.

“Destiny’s Child were compared to The Supremes, a 1960’s American female singing group, with Knowles being compared to Supremes frontwoman Diana Ross; Knowles, however, has dismissed the notion.[16] Coincidentally, Knowles starred in the film adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical Dreamgirls as Deena Jones, the front woman of the Dreams, a female singing group based on the Supremes. With Knowles’ wide role assumed in the production of Survivor, Gil Kaufman of MTV noted that “it became clear that Beyoncé was emerging as DC’s unequivocal musical leader and public face”

  181. ROSEGOLD January 31, 2014

“Destiny’s Child were once awarded with the title of “Best selling female group of all time” by the World Music Awards, however, this took into account the solo record sales of Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle.”

  182. ROSEGOLD January 31, 2014

DC were first compared to the Supremes in Wyclefs rap on the “No No No Remix”. They [DC3] also dressed as The Supremes on the cover of Vibe Mag. I have it in my house somewhere lol. I was a stan!

  183. Naomi January 31, 2014

@Bey Fan Ok I get you. But at the end of it, they did sell s** in the ‘typical’ fashion on several occasions. I mean just look at Chilli segment on the Crazy S*** Cool Tour.

  186. JOSE January 31, 2014

    @BEY FAN

AGAIN, condoms were not selling s**. A***/H** was a big problem in the 90’s so they encouraged people to practice safe s**. How is that selling s**? They never sold their bodies, like most girl groups did. As they got older they got sexier but it was classy.

@NAOMI, Yes those songs were after they had already established themselves as artists(without being sexual). Still they weren’t vulgar about it. Their also still more talented and innovative than DC ever was. What did DC bring individually to the group? nothing,

  187. ROSEGOLD January 31, 2014

Anyway TLC did that! T-Boz gave it her all. I know she’s been sick so she gets a pass, but Chilli shat! They outperformed some 20 years olds…

  188. MusicStan( Ya’ll Know who I stan for) January 31, 2014

@anonymous YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS pulling repecits lol I love you

  189. Naomi January 31, 2014

@Jose But DC were not vulgar either. Just because they promoted more of a feminine s** does not make them more vulgar. Red Light Special was more vulgar than anything DC has done. And I’m sorry way were TLC more talented than DC. Innovative I can give them, but talented no, no and no.

  190. Naomi January 31, 2014

    No way*

  191. Naomi January 31, 2014

Take Lisa out of the group, what was so special about the T and C? Lisa was the innovative one. Yes Beyoncé was the centre of DC but their talent was in much more proportion than TLC. Their vocals are on another level to TLC (remember TLC had incognito backing vocalists on a lot of their tracks) they could challenge TLC dancing also.

  192. Stephy Tha Lambily January 31, 2014

@Music Stan, you obviously know nothing about Mariah’s career to say all she talks about is Butterflies & Rainbow’s.

Anyways, Mariah cant be compared to TLC. Mariah actually wrote her own material. That alone seperates her from artist that could’ve been replaced by any other girl. Pebbles was right. She could’ve picked any girl to start that group & it still would’ve been successful due to the songwritters & Producers of La Face records…

Also, Left Eye wanted more freedom & control. She was the true talent of that group but its said we will never see what SHE could’ve WROTE & PRODUCED on HER albums AS A REAL ARTIST NOT SOMETHING manualfactured…

    TLC are not Legends…

    Michael Jackson is a legend!

  193. Naomi January 31, 2014

Individuality has nothing to do with talent. Talent is one thing, individuality is another.

  194. Slay_hive January 31, 2014

“Pebbles was right. She could’ve picked any girl to start that group & it still would’ve been successful due to the songwritters & Producers of La Face records…”

  195. Naomi January 31, 2014

Also, the lyrics to Girl Talk was more vulgar than any DC lyric.

  196. JOSE January 31, 2014

    @NAOMI

Each member brought something different. Chili was smooth, R&B vocals, T-BOZ had the low, sultry tone and left eye was the cool, funky personality and the rapper and no doubt the creative force behind alot of the projects. T-Boz also wrote sometimes. DC was Beyonce and company. The other’s didn’t even stand out. They just backed Beyonce up. On most songs, she sang over everyone as well. Plus, they sold her “s***” image. Didn’t they kick that other light-skinned girl out cause they wanted Bey to be the only light-skinned group member?

And no. TLC were better dancers/performers. Way better. DC were average with Michelle just…no.

  197. GIVE IT UP January 31, 2014

TLC SOLD MORE THAN DC YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER ABOUT THEIR TALENT, WRITING BLAH BLAH BLAH BUT THE FACTS REMAIN.

  198. GIVE IT UP January 31, 2014

DC IS LUCKY PCD BROKE UP BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE SNATCHED THEIR WIGS LMAO

  199. JOSE January 31, 2014

But DC was obviously replaceable since they rotated members 20 different times. lol.

  200. Naomi January 31, 2014

@Jose, Like I said you need to distinguish the difference between you preferring individuality and talent. TLC did not have Deborah Killings singing on most of their songs for no reason. DC were way ahead of TLC vocally and TLC we’re not that far ahead of DC at dancing. DC have tackled gospel, they have sung the National Anthem, sound with Celine Dion… TLC could NEVER. Which makes DC the better all round talent! I’m sorry it is what it is. I’ve seen DC live aswell and they could EASILY challenge TLC on the performing front. They were serving everything: vocals AND performing. And WTF does Beyonce being light skinned have to do with anything, stay on topic! DC may have sung about s** more, but they were never vulgar, and never more vulgar than some stuff TLC has done.

Like I said I will give TLC innovative (which was mostly thanks to Lisa) but talent, just no.

  201. Slay_hive January 31, 2014

TBoz and Chili could not sing. I don’t know what you are talking about. Tboz song majority of the songs. Chili was the back up singer, and Left Eye was the on call rapper, whenever she was needed. I think they are more popular for their image as a whole. Each of them had strong personalities which helped them stand out.

Beyonce was lead vocalist. Kelly had her solo moments as well. Beyonce was just the most popular, which is the case with most famous groups. One stands out more.

Receipts of farrah being kicked out because she was “light skin”. smh

They pretty much were equal in the dancing/performing department. The difference is I think DC relied more on vocal ability.

PCD “record” sales are majority singles.

  202. GIVE IT UP January 31, 2014

DC COULD NOT SEE TLC ON THE PERFORMING TIP

  203. JOSE January 31, 2014

T-Boz and Chili could definitely sing. However, that’s your opinion. No, they were popular for their unique image as well as their innovation and simply because they made great music together. DC was just another girl band. None of them were individually unique nor did they each bring anything to the group. TLC were better performers/dancers as well. They actually had choreography. DC’s choreography was b***-shaking 95.9% of the time. All in the all, TLC has classics as backed up by music experts. And DC?

  204. GIVE IT UP January 31, 2014

T BOZ AND CHILLI COULD SING. JUST BECAUSE YOU DON’T DO A BUNCH OF RIFFS AND RUNS DOESNT MEAN YOU CAN’T SING.

  205. Naomi January 31, 2014

And also, TLC ONLY worked as group, there is a reason why none of them had the strength as solo artists. They had to market the individual group member so profoundly because they were pretty basic all rounders. Smoke and mirrors. DC didn’t need to do that because all the girls could sing, they were all all rounders.

  206. GIVE IT UP January 31, 2014

IM A BEYONCE FAN I DON’T CARE FOR THE OTHERS. I LIKE LETOYA TOO BECAUSE SHE IS PRETTY AND CAN SING. KELLY AND MICHELLE SUCK. TLC MEMBERS WERE ALL DOPE SORRY!!!

  207. Naomi January 31, 2014

@Jose so why did they need back up singers to fill in most of their songs?

  208. GIVE IT UP January 31, 2014

YOU ARE BEING GENEROUS MUSICSTAN LOL KELLY WAS NEVER HUGE OVERSEAS HAS SHE EVEN RELEASED AN ALBUM IN EUROPE? SHE HAD A CUTE DANCE HIT OR 2. MICHELLE WAS EVEN A FLOP IN GOSPEL. AROUND THAT TIME YOLANDA ADAMS, DONNIE MCCLURKIN, MARY MARY AND OTHERS WERE GETTING PLATINUM AND GOLD ALBUMS MICHELLE GOT NOTHING. THE GOSPEL WORLD DOESNT ACCEPT HER

  209. Slay_hive January 31, 2014

“And also, TLC ONLY worked as group, there is a reason why none of them had the strength as solo artists. They had to market the individual group member so profoundly because they were pretty basic all rounders. Smoke and mirrors. DC didn’t need to do that because all the girls could sing, they were all all rounders.”

Naomi pretty much summed it up 😉

  210. Monstarebel January 31, 2014

Yall to hard on TLC they are like 50 they did decent for they age

  211. Istanformusic January 31, 2014

@Anonymous I agree I’ve never known Destiny child to be compared to the supremes. They dont even remind me of the supremes. En vogue was compared more to the supremes especially during the funky divas era. Destinys childs style was never like the surpremes. I guess their story was similar but thats it, but not their style or music.

  212. Naomi January 31, 2014

And neither En Vogue nor the supremes promoted their group members as like TLC did. Yet it’s only a flaw for DC.

  213. Kevin January 31, 2014

@ Music Stan, preach bro! TLC is the best, and regarding the show, I think the did a phenomenal job! Side note, T-boz all day, love her.

  214. JOSE January 31, 2014

They worked as a group because they were a group? lol. DC was still Beyonce and company. They could never be innovative like TLC was. They were basic at best only coming in 3rd or 4th place on most “best selling” lists. Spice Girls, TLC sold more.

  215. Naomi January 31, 2014

@Jose. Girl are you slow, that’s why I am talking about TALENT. Bestselling doesn’t make you more talented as a group. Neither does Lisa being innovative. Getting tired of repeating myself. I already gave TLC the innovative card but talent NO.

  216. Kevin January 31, 2014

    *They

  217. Naomi January 31, 2014

    @Monstarebel. Shade Heffa!

Anyway, I hate do this because I love me some TLC and I can give them credit where it is due. But TLC fans need to stop always trying to discredit DC to hold TLC on a pedestal. It’s not fair, because DC have pros TLC don’t have and vice versa. You need to accept that. They are both different type of girl group. The fact that you called DC ‘just another girl group’. I can’t. DCs impact is everywhere. Even on TLC YouTube videos. The fact TLC fans always need to compare them to Destinys Child should tell you they are more than ‘just another girl group’ SMH. I rarely see TLC bought up elsewhere which is ironic.

  218. slay_hive January 31, 2014

DC couldn’t be too basic if they are not too far behind TLC in WW record sales, landing them in the top 5. They couldn’t have been too basic if the group produced the ICON known as Beyonce. They couldn’t have been too basic if DC had more #1 singles, top ten hits, and top 40 hits.

TLC was innovative. They were hot during thier younger days, and now it’s over. They can’t sing, or dance (anymore), well maybe Chili a little bit, but they no longer appeal to the younger generation. DC still can 😉

Destiny’s Child is more respected and they have had the better overall career. They were also PAID #noshade THE END

  219. JOSE January 31, 2014

    @NAOMI

Being innovative is a talent. A quality that not many possess(including DC or Beyonce for that matter).Being original. Different. Bringing something new to the table. DC was basic at best. No one stood out besides Beyonce and her sexualized image and singing over everyone. They were also better dancers/performers as I told you before. TLC was skilled dancers. TLC actually did choreography and not shake their butts. I won’t get into singing with a Beyonce stan as delusion usually takes over in that case. But I’ll say t-boz was typically the lead vocalist, yes, but her vocals were unique as she sang in a low, sultry tone she was also a writer .Chili was the cool R&B vocals with the bubbly personality and Left Eye was the rapper. Each brought something different. Plus their music was better, as backed by music experts. DC was boring.

  220. slay_hive January 31, 2014

TALENT>>> Innovation (fashion, swag, hairstyles) ETC

The reason DC produced more stars, and the more respected Beyonce.

TBOZ voice was not sultry. She sounded dry and like her throat was full of c**. Chili didn’t sound anything like an R&B singer. She had weak pop vocals at best. None of their voices helped jump start their solo careers, Because they were branded as a GROUP. They were nothing without eachother, and the whole “image” they made work for themselves.

DC was far from “boring”. TLC was basic without their writers, producers, and their “innovative” image. Strip them down to Destiny’s child style of singing and music and you will see just how basic they are.

  221. JOSE January 31, 2014

These women are in their 40’s so of course they can’t move like they did in their teens-20’s. If DC can still appeal to the younger audience, why did their latest single(that Nuclear) BS bomb? TLC has cemented themselves so they could care less about “appealing to this generation” I’m sure. They have their fanbase.

You’re bragging about hits but they still got outsold with those #1s, top 40s and top 10s of which you speak. I thought Bey fans stanned for a body of work not singles? That’s what ya’ll say when you’re dragging RIH?

In that case, in reference to a body of work, TLC’s body of work is much more impressive. DC made bubblegum, childish music for their young fans and feminine male fans to dance to whereas TLC was diverse.

Also, I see TLC on Rolling Stone’s 500 greatest albums of all time list, I don’t see DC. Music experts prefer TLC. 😉

  222. Naomi January 31, 2014

@Jose clearly you have not seen DC live. They are easily as good as TLC live as performers. And they actually sung live and harmonized beautifully unlike TLC who lip sync and struggle vocally through most of their live shows. No wonder their dancing was on point. Lisa was innovative. The other member were not. Their marketing as individual members, was like I said, smoke and mirrors for the fact that besides Lisa they were pretty basic. Most of your comment is biased, and based on your personal opinion. Sorry but the fact remains, TLC were not more talented than DC. And also, DC have more big hits than TLC, that crossover to all different audiences. I prefer listening to DCs music than TLC. Because they actually give me togetherness in their vocals.

  223. JOSE January 31, 2014

I have to run to the grocery store. Live in your delusions until I return.

  224. Naomi January 31, 2014

@Jose no shade but comments like ‘DC were basic’ and ‘DC were just another girl group’ only makes you sound delusional

  225. slay_hive January 31, 2014

“why did their latest single(that Nuclear) BS bomb?”

When was this promoted as a single? It was a contractual obligation to release that album. You can tell they didn’t care about that. NEXT

I’m just saying DC has has their success as well. You are saying they are basic when they are not too far behind in sales, and they have had slightly better success with their music. Even though they released the same amount of albums. TLC sales are mostly from the early to mid 90’s when mega sales were the norm!

Who cares about a list. DC are on plenty of lists as well. Neilson Soundscans 100 best-selling albums for TWOTW.

We all know who who is more talented>>>>>> Beyonce is still relevant now. I wonder why TLC the “innovative” group have struggled with their own solo success?

GP prefers DC and Beyonce to this day 😉 sowry

  226. Calm down!!! January 31, 2014

All of this typing but DC is still 15m records behind TLC. Destinys Child fans started it. If I’m not mistaken, this is a TLC post? Most TLC stans are in their mid 20s and 30s now. They don’t have time to sit on blogs and argue about b*******. TLC is not in the same boat as DC. Beyonce and co should be compared to 3LW, SWV, 702 Xscape, SWV, En Vogue and the rest of those groups.

  227. Calm down!!! January 31, 2014

MOSTLY Anyone who had a big machine behind them (especially before the 2000’s) was “manufactured”. You were whatever your label wanted you to be. That doesn’t make one any less legendary. You see the general public doesn’t care if you wrote your own songs or if someone “created” you. Look at Whitney. She never wrote anything. Clive Davis molded her into what he wanted her to be. So you’re telling me she’s not a legend? At the end of the day her colossal talent is what made her legendary. TLC made their mark and they’re legends. No amount of dissertations will change that. 🙂

  228. Just Sayin January 31, 2014

I love TLC. But they are not more talented than Destiny’s Child.

  229. Savonn Tep January 31, 2014

    They f****** KILLED it!

All y’all bad taste, actually NO taste having little ignorant kids will deal. Your favorites will never!

I get off work and y’all Beyonce dooky bugs are still on here. Clearly the hive HAVE nothing going on for themselves. Oh and after hours among hours of hating, here’s a statement out the horse’s mouth.

TLC and DC are two totally different girl groups. They both had their advantages and disadvantages.

Apparently TLC fans have no regard for vocal ability. TLC’s reemergence just highlights the fact that an R&B group with hardly any vocal talent managed to have more success than several other R&B female groups who have much more vocal talent like En Vogue and many others and pretty much managed to match the success of DC. It’s a shame that they are even mentioned in the same breath as such groups as EV, The Supremes, DC, The Emotions, etc.

In regards to the TLC and DC comparison…sales aside, TLC set a better example for woman all over the world, they stuck together and stood by each other. You will never see t-boz throwing shade at her own group members in an interview on youtube. Beyonce can’t say the same.

Destiny’s child couldn’t even stick together, so much for sisterhood. When you mention TLC, it’s t-boz, left eye and chili. When you mention DC, it’s beyonce, kelly, michelle, and oh yeah, letoya and latavia the two girls they kicked out and the one that was in the group for five minutes, farrah franklin. MESSY.

No boo TLC has sold 65 million records so you need to check your numbers

  235. mary February 1, 2014

OK everybody knows that TLC has sold more than Beyonce and the back up singers so I don’t understand where yall are getting your facts from

im a 90s baby(22) and i prefer TLC tbh they had better songs period and they touch alot of issues unlike destinys child who just touched man hating drama and “female empowerment”.
