“Drunk In Love” Producer: “Beyonce Pretty Much Wrote The Whole Song”

beyonce that grape juice she is diva that grape juice 2013 drunk in love Drunk In Love Producer: Beyonce Pretty Much Wrote The Whole Song

The majority of her contemporaries may depend on writing camps to craft their hits, but it seems Beyonce‘s ‘DIY’ approach to songwriting may be to thank for the recent success she’s enjoyed with her self-titled new album.

Indeed, weeks after the jam surfed to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, the producer behind her Jay-Z backed “Drunk in Love” has revealed the star wrote the bulk of the song herself.

Detail’s details on the radio-rocking release below!

Responsible for penning the majority of her greatest hits, one can’t but marvel at how integral Beyonce has been to building her discography…flaunting a creative control most of her rivals are unlikely to ever exhibit.

Here we go again with the lies and a$$ kissing. No one believes she writes her sh&t. She doesn’t even speak well. It’s ok Bey, you are talented and can sing and perform your a$$ off, but a songwriter you are not! Be thankful for the gift God gave you, and stop taking credit for someone else’s gift.

LOL How much was he paid? This is like that occasion when a producer or I don´t know who told Rihanna in her face that she is a vocalist! lol Not even she could believe that :)
Look, Beyonce´s catalogue is very slutty in a big proportion, it´s possible that she contributes to something in some of her most basic songs (and by something I´m meaning some words, never the melodies, which is the most important part probably) but that doesn´t make you a real songwriter as we normal people understand it. Alicia Keys,MariahCcarey, Lady Gaga, Adele, Janelle Monae, etc, etc are real songwriters. It´s so damn easy to tell just by the way they talk about the music in their albums.

What makes them “real” song writers? Beyonce, like the artists you’ve mentioned, has written songs. And Beyonce, just like the artist you’ve mention, also has co-written on songs.

I don’t get how everyone feels like they’re some type of accredited music critic ..

And why does anyone have to kiss Beyonce ass???

When people say slick chit about Beyonce, they’re being real. But when someone says something positive they’re kissing a$$. SMH

Its not like he said she wrote every single lyric. She said he played the song “Drunk” and she liked it.

She finally wrote something!, but is not like this song is some sord of masterpiece, it’s a cachy urban song, Beyonce’s talent relies on singing and performing, besides that she is pretty basic and mediocre at almost eveything, i’m talking about produce, arrangements, instruments, she is not on the same level of Lana Del Rey when it comes to songwriting, just to name someone of this generation. Beyonce is very talented but so overrated when you think about, her discography doesn’t live up to the hype, you can all hate more now, XOXO.

It’s nice to see her winning this era, but it’s even better to have music that you genuinely appreciate from artist you expect more from. Bey could have easily stop giving a damn by now. To still be in love with who your fav is today (currently) and not what they use to be is awesome! I’ll still love Bey 4 decades from now too (after her prime though)!

Samantha please. Everyone knows Beyonce does NOT write her own music. Changing around a word or two or a title is not real lyric songwriting. Come back when she writes at least 50 percent of the lyrics. What’s even worse is that she doen’t even write the melodies, chords, rhythms, etc., which is beyond sad since she clearly can’t write lyrics. This is why I can’t support her because she just can’t own up to the fact that songwriting is not one of her talents and would rather steal credit fom someone else. Besides, even if she did truly write this song, it is absolutely nothing to brag about. Everything down to the melody, chords, lyrics, etc. is beyond basic. This is something I would expect a high school student to write not a grown ass adult.

Seems like some of these haters are going to lose their minds if Bey proves them wrong about 1 more thing this year!

    - Last year she was washed up – NULL & VOID
(proven wrong with receipts from Dec. 13th)
    - JUST a touring act – NULL & VOID
(again, proven wrong with receipts from Dec 13th)
    - Local & unable to measure up to stadium status – NULL & VOID
(proven wrong with 2013 Mrs. Carter Show World Tour receipts of more than 188 Mil)
    - She can’t get a hit – NULL & VOID
(Billboard receipts have DIL peaking at #2)
    Now this …
What’s next? The year is still young!

Its actually disturbing how some people are literally deluding themselves into commenting like they know Beyoncé personally. How TF do you know what she is and is not capable of doing. Some people are dragging her like its a damn fact when its just based on their weightless opinion. You are WORSE than fans. At least they come with receipts and don’t base majority of their shades on nonchalant heresay, assumption and rumors. Its pathetic!

All people can come with is what they “assume”. How would know what Beyonce is able to do. How do you know what she contributed to the song. People always coming for her education, when she has proved that she is smart on several occasions. With her smart business moves, endorsement deals, and her branding as a whole. She may not be the best public speaker, but that has nothing to do with her intelligence. People hate this woman so much they discredit her any way they can without having facts to back their claims. The producer said she wrote majority of the song. Obviously, she plays a major role in the writing process of her songs. Writing may not be her main talent, but at this point in her career, I’m sure she contributes more than what you people want to give her credit for.

It’s quite possible that Mariah’s lambs will put all their life savings towards helping the album sell more. But for now, here are some answers to why Mariah has fallen.

Bad music – How many “We Belong Together” clones can Mariah come up with?

Style – People are sick and tired of the 40 going on 14 look. Mariah needs to act her age.

Her PR team – It’s good that Mariah fired her previous public relations team. Her apology after she screeched her way through Michael Jackson’s memorial seemed more about her than Michael Jackson.

Her talent – Mariah’s voice has become a shadow if its former self. She has replaced singing with screeching and whispering.

She needs a new team. She needs to push herself. Step outside of her comfort zone. Mariah no sis if this is the best you have then you need to retire after this album.

The Lambs love to drag other people music because they think Mariah is such a cut above the rest when really her discography is plain, forgettable, predictable, repetitive and stinky boring.

Mariah has become a great role model for “big” women everywere (and the word “big” is in quotes because there seems to be a sexist double standard on what “big” is) and she shows no shame. She doesn’t apologize or make excuses; she just struts her overweight self out there with a smile on her face.

Ann Wilson of Heart wore all black to hide her weight gain. In the early 90′s, Paula Abdul had the camera lenses manipulated to hide her bulge. Roseanne Barr just kept playing the victim and gave people who made fun of her weight way too much attention. Mariah Carey, however, doesn’t fall in that category.

Beyonce’s total record sales are about 200 million. As the lead singer of own her group, she’s sold 65+ million record. As as a solo artist she’s sold 135+ million records.

    65 million + 135 million = 200 million total records sold

And yes, because she was the lead singer, sung/wrote the majority of DC’s songs and the group survived and flourished after group members were switched, one wouldn’t be wrong to give her credit for those sales, because they’re hers. Just like all 17 Grammys (DC included) and 16+ industry experience (DC included) are hers also.

If they were her sales, Nielsen Soundscan (official sales tracking system in North America) wouldn’t have her total sales at 15,000,000. Sit down.

Mariah did feel insecure though since Beyonce departed from Destiny’s Child.

She wanted to be the only female judge and she resented Nicki for joining the judge panel in Idol. Nicki commands attention when she enters a room, and Mariah wasn’t feeling that because she wanted to be the only center of attention. I do not like Nicki Minaj but I don’t believe she is lying when she says Mariah is insecure. At least I can respect Minaj for being a productive judge on the show, Mariah served 0 purpose.

If anybody watched her little 5 minute clips she released during the 1st couple weeks of her album release you will see where she was in a studio with Jay Z, Kelly Rowland, Timbaland and Pharrell and she was saying how DIL was what she wanted to say in her music but she did not know how to put it. I believe she co writes. She seems very involved in her music and direction. She doesn’t seem like one of those puppet artists who’s label says jump and they say how high. The girl been in the game a damn near 2 decades I’m sure she knows how to piece together some lyrics from experience. No she’s not a notorious songwriter, and yes she gets stuff written for her but I believe she does write some stuff as well. And she also has great business skills and knows the ins and outs of running her brand. And many people she has worked with her say the same. She is smarter than people think. You can’t judge someone’s IQ by the way they talk, some people are not confident speakers by default. That just makes you look dumb.

You don’t know if they’re going to be able to capture your voice the same way that you captured it yourself.”Beyonce also snagged a writing credit for Scared of Lonely, even though producer Rico Love recently said he wrote that song with Solange, Lashawn Daniels and Crystile. Beyonce’s claims of being a songwritter have been suspecious since the destiny’s child album “Survivor”, where she received 18 song ang producer credits. More than once there were romours that her father got the credits as he was on plan to astablish his daughter’s solo career. Most notably, the songs “Brown eyes” was the creation of Walter Afanasif (famous for his classical pop work with Mariah Carey and Celine Dion in the 90s), but beyonce’s name appears on the credits list.

It all started to properly appear that Beyonce is not a songwritter in the period following her second solo album “B’Day”. She herself say sthe album was created in 3 weeks with 72 songs made. The obvious question is whether this is possible. Yet again her name appears in almost all the songs on the album as songwriter.
Neyo started the flames when he found out that beyonce had claimed to have written the song, obviously he retaliated at this afront by going public with his, VERBATUM.
In the same album (B’day), Beyonce covered a song by British singer-songwriter De’seree called Still in love(Kissing you) from the movie Shakespear in Love. She had asked for permission to cover the song but she was told not to change any lyrics in the song or release a music video for it. As you all know she did both, and adding her name on the songwriting credits list to boot. She was subsequently, and successfully, sued by De’seree and was ordered to cease the release of the song in the Delux edition of the album B’day AND pay $150 000. Even today , some youtube links to the beyonce version of this song are blocked due to the copywrite enfringement.
The song “resentment” was released in 2004 by Victoria Beckham and written by Walter W. Millsap III and Candice Nelson with a guitar cord sample by the great Curtis Mayfield. The song turned up two years later on B’day, exactly the same but alas Beyonce’s name was on the credits list for minor changes to the song at the end!
Similarly for the song “Lay up under me”, it was released in 2008 by Shaun Garret by maraculously appeared on her fourth album “4″ with her name etting primary songwriting credit. This fits the trend because all of the songs on “4″ either existed before she recorded them or they were written by someone else who was on a payroll.
Rob Fusari has also spoken about how Beyonce in an interview with Barbra Walters said she came up with the idea and lyrics for “bootylicious”, Matthew responded with an arrogant and pompous reply of “fans dont care who writes or produces the song, they want to believe that the artist did it”. This response is rubbish and is something that only be said by someone who is not a musician but a manager.
Of the 5 USA #1 hits she probably only co-wrote 2 (single ladies and check on it), the other 3 (irriplaceable, crazy love and babay boy) were not written NOR produced by her.
The composers award that is used by Beyonce fans as a defence against these accusations is a very weak one because the composers association only takes into account the artists album liner notes, no questions. And it is clear that the liner notes are not an accurate or reliable indication of the rightful songwriters who deserve credit. Also you must consider the power, influence and impact that Matthew Knowles has in the music industry as a factor into who celebrates and who doesnt celebrate his daughter that he’s devoted almost all his middle life into turning into a money making pop star.
This is evidence that this woman clearly pays songwriters to include her name in the song so she can further capitalise from the song’s success because of teh power her name commands. This may sound valid in the music business but it is not right at all and the American music industry needs to come up with laws that prohibit big name stars from bullying non-famous producers. It needs to made illigal.
However there have been occasions where Beyonce either hasn’t gotten a credit for songwriting or simply didn’t look for one since the collaborator is a big name artist/producer. The song “put it in a love song” with Alicia Keys, “telephone” with Lady Gaga and “I was here” which was written by the great Diane Warren. Diane Warren is known for her strict stance on songwriting ownership and publishing royalties, and it is a safe bet to say that had Beyonce attempted a forced songwriting credit, we most likely would have never heard her rendition of “I was here”.
Frank Ocean once tweeted that producers don’t like artists who claim credits they did not have anything to do with except when it’s beyonce. The irony there is very obvious if you know the story behing his song “I miss you”.
When the oscar for best original song nominees included the songwriters fro “Listen” Beyonce’s name was not part of the list of people who were going to get the Oscar because she didn’t write the song but on her album “B’day” it appears in the songwriting credtis.
That was long. But that is clear, objective non-biased evidence against Beyonce’s claim of being a songwriter/co-writer. It is up to you to use common sense and come to a conclusion. Denial of evidence indicates severe delusion.

This is not to discredit Beyonce’s obvious talent, but it is to do right by those people who help her convey her talent by giving her material to perform for her fans. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SINGING A SONG THAT YOU DID NOT WRITE. What is wrong is claiming credit for efforts for which you are not responsible for, it is plagerism and it is the single greatest crime in the entire canon of written work or art. Whiteney Houston, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion have become astronomically successful female solo vocal artists from singing songs they did not write but they are still filthy rich and they did not have to steal credit for them.

I hope you know the person who composes. The beat. Is a writer. So if 3 people made the beat and 3 people wrote the lyrics , and 2 people did the vocal arrangement that’s 8 people. You have to understand how song writing credits work

Producer is dettached from writer. Production is anything that made the song into existance other than the lyrical content.

Yes like I said in my first comment it´s easy to tell who is a songwriter and who isn´t, just by the way they talk about their music, albums and songs. Beyonce or Rihanna harly ever talk about the real deal, the music. All the artists I mentioned before do, it´s easy to tell, it´s a passion they have.
On the other hand people need to understand a songwriter doesn´t just write the lyrics, that´s not the most difficult thing, all of us could write some words right? Especially lyrics as slutty as Drunk in Love. But the melodies and the rest of things that make a song are more important to make it great or bad. So a song having basic lyrics doesn´t mean Beyonce could have written it, cos there´s more to it than just the lyrics. Again I think she might help in some of her songs, but she´s no real songwriter as everybody understands what a real songwriter is.

It’s really funny how some random people who have probably never been in a studio nor know anything about the production of music claim to know more than the actual producer. If he says she wrote it, who are you to deny it? Were you there to say otherwise?
Lol,Beyonce has some really dedicated haters.
People who can’t write/produce don’t become the first african american women to win the song-writing awards at the NAACP awards.
People who can’t write don’t get praised for their writing/producing skills by almost every producer they get in the studio with.
All the shade you guys used to throw at her is backfiring now, back to the tired bleached jokes now, I guess.

I remember when Beyonce said on a show that she wrote the song Emotions and was then reminded by the presenter that it was actually a Bee Gee song that she had covered.
