Much to the dismay of the UK’s R&B loyalists, the last decade has failed to deliver a US entertainer from the genre to rock their market in ways done by the likes of Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown– and at one point- Ciara.

Set to change once Miguel sets his sights on international acclaim with his forthcoming LP, this week saw Sevyn Streeter fly her genre’s flag on British soil,  doing so with her Chris Brown-backed number, ‘It Won’t Stop.’

Full story after the jump!

As John Legend‘s ‘Love in the Future‘ rises seven spots to claim #6 on the Official Charts, iTunes R&B UK continues to house Streeter‘s ‘Stop’, which sits pretty at #12!

Telling of the star’s commercial potential in the market, the star’s UK chart run can also be thanked for the 22,922,640 times the single has been spun on her official YouTube channel.

Indeed, as digital seas push her sound around the world, ‘Stop‘s video has been shared 65,697 times and watched for a total of 164 years, calculated by working out the length of time each of its viewers spent watching the visual.

In other R&B news, worldwide sales of Kelly Rowland‘s ‘Talk A Good Game’ eye the 300,000 unit mark with over 215,000 units sold since June 14th 2013!

Elsewhere, John Legend’s ‘Love in the Future’ sees its US sales sing to the tune of 378,000 units while Ledisi‘s ‘The Truth’ opens with 19,711 copies sold- making its debut at #14 on the Billboard 200.

On a singles tip, Beyonce‘s ‘Drunk in Love‘ surfs on a wave of 75,000 units to arrive at US sales of 1,216,000 copies as its supporting LP hits the 1,8700,000 mark in the very same market, thanks to 22,000 units moved  in the last week!

I like Sevyn.. I hope she can make a real mark with her LP. The ‘Call Me Crazy’ EP was really good, it just does not have a lot of radio ready songs outside of ‘Shattered’ which I think would be a good move.
