As of this week, Perry‘s time atop Billboard’s ‘Pop Songs’ tally now sits at the 46 week mark.
Why this is important? Well, its this milestone that sees her claim the ‘Pop Songs’ throne, with more time spent at #1 on the chart than any other artist in US chart history, snatching the record from Carey- who can boast of 45 weeks spent at the top.
Of the 11 Perry songs to dominate the chart, ‘Horse’ is the eighth to spend at least four weeks at the top, doing so after it surpassed sales of 3.5 million units and its older sister ‘California Gurls’ spent a chart-scorching seven weeks at #1 on the very same tally!

I like other artists no doubt about that and i respect them all.
But what are we arguing? Is it about the video? is it about the singing/voice? The charts? The sales? For me it is really about the voice we are talking about “singing”.
There are many videos that garner appreciation but not the song itself or the artist. There are without videos to accompany a single or song but makes it popular.
When it comes to singing of course Mariah Carey is undeniably one of the few on the top (if we are talking about singing perse).
Music is diverse, it has many genres..If you are into a certain music or genre then its fine.
I just hope people will have the respect not to bash artists online (it just tells something negative about you). Its not justifying that what you said is true or not.
We are fans of certain singers some not by how they sound or his/her voice. Some because of the music only (there are singers who really cant sing professionaly peace! but regardless of it all, we must celebrate the music.
Bashing online, saying hateful derogatory remarks wont help. What we should do is love support an artist. If you are not a fan of this and that artist then just walk away. A fan is a fan i know but its not okay to be negative especially online. Comment nicely with a heart still.
If singing is what people argue about and its for a fact fan or not we all know who they are.
Singers who can really be called a “singer” are: Irene Cara, Donna Summer, Barbara Streisand, Jody Watley, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Shania Twain, Mary J. Blige, Patty LaBelle, and many more.
I am only listing some who can really sing. Its not about the music anymore or the Awards or the hits..

Her marketing is horrible: singing to her fans by a surprise like she’s still news and the queen of Billboard, posting pictures of herself and her family and leaving You’re Mine outside, it’s always about herself like young people were not really young for her music back in the day. And her image, same diva, curvy dresses with cleavage too-New-Years-Eve-dinner.
I’m happy she flops because she’s blind. Go adult contemporary or refresh for Pop, that simple. Look at Katy she has no talent and still is the pop queen AND deserves it, even when Roar is not so innovative, Half Prism is chart material, funny videos, super designed presentations, no voice, no dance, and that’s enough.
