Published: Wednesday 5th Mar 2014 by Sam

Two months separate Chris Brown fans from the long-awaited release of his ‘X’ LP.

With a number of cuts already floating on the interweb, Brown continues the preview party with latest track ‘New Flame’.

The moody mid-tempo sees the 24-year-old team up with rapper Rick Ross, who joins an impressive list of features on the project (a list that includes the likes of Kelly Rowland and Brandy).

How do the pair fare? Find out after the jump…

How many songs he’s gonna release before the album drop???

  3. CHILE PLEASE!! March 5, 2014

UGGGGG!! THAT PIC IS SO C*NT & UGLY!! THEY NEED TO BURN IT & NEVER SHOW IT AGAIN…HE LOOKS LIKE A MALNUTRION PIMP!

I love Chris and the club songs, but he needs a new look and image. This rough look is doing nothing for him. He should put out an entire concept album, not just one or two songs (like “Don’t Judge Me”, “Crawl”, etc.) pouring his heart out about his struggles and make it personal: His regrets, his anger, etc. Chris has the potential to redeem himself musically!

I love how much Chris LOVES music! He is constantly releasing music to please his fans. I’ve loved everything I heard from him thus far… Fine China, They Don’t Know, Love More, Loyal, Counterfeit and I’m about to give this joint a listen. People love to hate Chris, but he’s one of the dopest male R&B singers we have right now. He can dance, write and sing. He can give a club joint, love ballad, midtempo, dance-pop or straight pop song with ease. Chris is consistent and I wish him much success!

Sam post about HDD since most of the new releases are by black people.

    Rick Ross (Def Jam/IDJ) 145-160k
    Pharrell Williams (Columbia) 85-95k
    Ashanti (eOne) 18-21k

Another hot song! Kudos Chris I love it!

  8. JER March 5, 2014

It’s ok. For an album that’s been in the works for 2 years tho it’s not.

  9. Comptons Finest March 5, 2014

I’m ready for Chris to evolve and mature as an artist, all the music he has been releasing lately sounds like something he could have recorded in his younger years when he stepped on the scene(excluding Fine China and Don’t Judge Me). This song isn’t bad tho I kinda like it as an album track.

  10. Superfan March 5, 2014

Not horrible. Not bad. Not great. I like the beat, I like Chris flow and melodies, but not together. The beat seems too uptempo for his flow to ME. Ross part was dope though. Another thing is Chris voice have so much done to it in the studio. I hate that because I believe if his vocals were a little more raw, vs all that editing being done to it, he would come across with more soul.

    Nevertheless, bring on X!

Why don’t TGJ post this video about this girl working with Aaliyah on Rock The Boat and how Aaliyah was talking about hopes of performing the song at the Grammys!!!!!!!

    ALBUM FILLER!!!

  13. Navy Commander March 5, 2014

Don’t respect him. Don’t care for his music either

  14. Stephy Tha Lambily March 5, 2014

    Horrible!

Chris Brown has released his whole damn album over the past 7 months! Who needs to buy it when we already herd every damn thing.

Also, the music is forgettable & terrible just like every damn thing that comes out these days!

  15. Navy Commander March 5, 2014

    ^ right

The album is already out really.

  16. coolness March 5, 2014

It’s decent at best. It just seems regular like album filler and I agree with @SUPERFAN. His phrasing seems to clash with the tempo of the song. I love the uniqueness of his voice (when he’s not trying to ‘sing’ in falsetto) but he needs better material. I love that he’s passionate about music and doesn’t like to keep fans waiting but I need him to cut back on the freebies. Like we’ve heard almost half of the album. Keep us in the dark for a bit.

Had no idea she worked with Aaliyah. That interview was quite informative, because the only thing I knew about her was that she’s on “Let’s Stay Together”.

It’s always sad when I think about how Aaliyah passed away. Rock The Boat was going to be a huge summer smash for her and she & her team knew it.

A lot of People are starting to like Chris again now that they know he has a mental illness witch alot of people have & he can shine light on the illness in the mainstream. But If he’s going to make this big come back he should leave all the songs so far from X in the past. Because he needs a new sound with this new start. His first single should have Macklemore in it so he can give good cross over energy because he does make Pop & R&B Music.

  19. Skyfall March 5, 2014

I’m only here for the Mariah Carey… Opps I mean Ariana Grande duet

  20. Skyfall March 5, 2014

I agree he needs a new clean image since he’s gaing a lot of his fan base back, he needs to release a good spring/summer song that appeals to everyone while still being of quality

  21. Auntie_Jackie March 5, 2014

    Snoozer. Come on CB……….

  22. Comptons Finest March 5, 2014

@LATE that interview was very informative I had no idea about her possibly performing at Grammys and AMA I just knew she was suppose to open up the MTV awards with that snake performance that Britney did. My heart always aches thinking about all the things she was planning on doing, the AALIYAH era was gonna be HUGE for her.

  23. ozzyone March 5, 2014

I can’t be the only one who thinks he looks super gay smh but amyways I am kinda excited for this given the singles thus far

  24. ENOUGH ONIKA (NEW & IMPROVED) March 5, 2014

    RIP Chris Brown’s career….Chris it’s been a tragedy since Graffiti…. #RIP

  25. zania March 6, 2014

CB is putting out a mixtape with tyga, so you have no idea what songs will make it to his album. I will buy it no matter what, because I am a fan. he will sell over 100,000 because he have a solid fan base. He never sold under 100,000 even after 2009 incident.

  26. Roman Minaj March 6, 2014

I feel for Chris to comeback as CHRIS BROWN, he’s needs to change a few things about himself. He needs to stop singing about s**, money and b******. He needs to really sing about his struggles, love-life or whatever like he did on Chris Brown, Exclusive, Graffiti and F.A.M.E. Like he needs to come back with the “Crawl”, “Say Goodbye”,”Don’t Judge Me”,”All Back”, and “Forever” teas. I promise and I’m sure that that’ll give him a whole bunch of recognition. I truly miss the Chris Brown i used to know. The one that’d make me tear up, the one that’d make me reminiscence old relationships that I had, the one i Kept on repeat. I miss the “Gotta Be Your Man” Chris…the “I’ll Go” Chris….and I wish somebody could show him this. He really needs to read and understand this. Understand how we notice his change and how his change has changed him and the way he’s viewed. I love and Miss You Christopher Maurice Brown. Only true, down-to-earth, supportive no matter what Chris Breezy fans will understand and relate. #teambreezy

  27. OrangeJuiceInstead March 6, 2014

The more songs that come out the less excited I get about the album.

I can take release dates being pushed back but if all these mediocre songs keep coming out I’m gonna ask for someone to pass the salt soon.

  28. BEYFLAWLESS March 10, 2014

STOP trying with this album and im teambreezy release X as a mixtape and start all over
