Meanwhile, Mariah Carey’s ‘Me.I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse‘ suffers a dip in its pre-order sales this week, now sitting at #93 on iTunes US Top 100 Albums tally, now placed one spot beneath Lady GaGa‘s ‘ARTPOP‘, which sold well under 3,000 copies in the last week.
Due out on May 27th, the project’s pre-order sales may see it slip out of the chart if it they do not pick up in the coming hours, giving some indication as to how it may fare once its released to the world in two weeks time.

Mariah’s album at this rate will do anywhere between 75-125k the 1st wk tbh. Memoirs sold 170k the 1st wk with a platinum Top 10 single and solid promo campaign so what makes y’all think she’ll sell nearly 200k the 1st wk with an album that was pushed back by a whole year, has had 3 failed singles (Triumphant, Letting Go and You’re Mine) and hardly no real promo but a few radio interviews. Mariah should’ve just dropped the album last July and she would’ve did a solid 175k the 1st wk because #Beautiful was a huge hit for Mariah and the album would be pushing at least ARTPOP’s numbers by now (700k US/1.8 mil WW) and possible international tour. I love Mariah and I’m a huge fan of hers, but let’s think realistically now. Mariah’s style of music isn’t commercially relevant in 2014. #Beautiful did well because it had a different sound. I don’t know why Almost Home wasn’t pushed as the lead single in March of 2013, followed by #Beautiful in June/July then You’re Mine in October/November and close the era with Letting Go in February/March of this year. Almost Home and #Beautiful could’ve been huge crossover singles in the US, Asia and Europe and possibly had even gave Mariah her 19th and 20th #1s on the Hot 100 and gave her 2 Grammys. The album would’ve did extremely well off that, a solid 250-300k the 1st wk and she could at pushing PRISM’s numbers (1.3 mil US/3 mil WW). Hopefully Mariah can get her s*** together
