In news that will no doubt excite Brandy‘s legion of fans, The Vocal Bible was snapped in the studio this week with legendary hitmaker Dianne Warren.

Taking to Twitter, Warren – who has penned smashes such as ‘Un-Break My Heart’ and Beyonce’s ‘I Was Here’ – posted the shot above with the caption:

Many will recall Warren and B-Rocka’s work on the now-classic ‘Have You Ever?’ from 1998’s ‘Never Say Never’.

With high publicised changes in her private life recently, Brandy spoken freely of her desire to “scream”, holler, and bare her soul on her next album. So, who better to team  up with than one of the most gifted ballad bakers of all-time, D.W. Needless to say, we’re already salivating at the prospect of what the ladies will cook up.

Your thoughts?

I like hoq Sam post articles on THROWBACKS like Brandy, Monica, Diane Warren etc. & Doing POSITIVE post on FLOP ass Jennifer & Rita Whora! But when it comes to Mariah Carey who still managed to get a platinum selling single last year with 2 Gold Selling Albums & 1 Platinum selling album in the past 6 years. But this FLOP Brandy literally aint had a hit in over 10 years or a platinum selling album in over 10 years… But he still praise her like she just got a DIAMOND selling album last year. WTF!

2.Brandy is an AMAZING artist, and she gets her duly deserved praised as far as TGJ is concerned.

3.Sam’s hate for MC has alot to do his Ex who started another blog after ditching him and constantly hates on Bey on his site,so nothing serious.

    Brandy is so beautiful.

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

She does look very pretty! I will agree with that…

  6. Mark111 May 23, 2014

It’s still funny how Beyonce’s name was all up and down the 4 album except for I Was Here, lol, no where near Diane Warren.

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

I knew you was gonna say that! Just confirms your a queen! You speak just like US!

      • Mark111 May 23, 2014

You really try too hard. Didn’t you say that you’re a girl on the last post?

  7. 2bad2bme May 23, 2014

that’s why music is a mess now days because folks are so quick to talk about how much someone sold instead of the quality of music…smh

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

When your music is quality… It WILL sell regardless.. sorry!

      • Beyonce stan May 23, 2014

You know that’s a damn lie

      • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

I guess… Name one album that had commercially driven & personally great quality music that flopped!

      • Beyoncé stan May 23, 2014

Your original statement said nothing about commercially driven music, but OK!

contrary to what you no life havin PPL that come on this site to down other artist when you don’t even support your fav, BELIEVE BRANDY DOESNT DO MUSIC TO BE KNOWN. Don’t come for my f***** motha bc she has done more for MUSIC than any of your favs that aren’t before 2002. she has won EVERY AWARD IN MUSIC, SO SHE DOES IT STRICTLY TO KEEP HER FANS HAPPY. nOT FOR SALES OR FAME.WHEN YOUR FAV HAS DONE IT ON TH LEVEL MY QUEEN HAS THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH RESPECT TO KNOW RESPECT THE ONES WHO PAVED THE WAY. #KNOWYOURPLACE now bran, im hyped at the vocal growth you have acquired, so to hear you will be tackling a Diane ballad is music to my ears! all I ask is that you stay away from the big name producers bc all they do is drown your out with them 808s; unless its a club banger #yessweneedthose.lol find producers who will let your voice shine then make the beat compliment your voice and we gone be good! im ready #summer2014 #leggo #starzzzzzzzzzzz

    • Steph May 23, 2014

Exactly. Folks are clueless. Brandy gets money, that woman does not have to work a day in her life. She’s just doing because it fulfils a purpose and for her fans

  10. JFB May 23, 2014

i really wish this alien looking chick could just STOP. Please.

  11. RoyalKev May 23, 2014

    Lambs are everywhere!
They’re in the JLO posts calling her a lessor.
They’re in the Nicki Minaj posts calling her a lessor.
They’re in the Bey posts calling her a lessor.
They’re in the Ariana Grande posts calling her a lessor.
They’re in the Celine Dion post calling her a lessor.
They’re in the Whitney/Madonna posts half praise/shading her.
Rihanna/Katy Perry are simply beneath Mariah
and Brandy/Janet no longer pose a threat to anybody now …
… Oh, but they have nice things to say about Toni Braxton!

If Mariah Carey is the best thing walking, then I expect this woman’s first week #’s to be well over 300K! We see those stats from the 90’s every week and according to these people Mariah Carey is still in her prime! She’s amazing live! Her receipts will also be amazing next week! I just have to see how this Queen does next week!

Anyway, I’m glad to see Brandy back at work! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with this time. I have a feeling this project will be very well rounded.

    • Teacher May 23, 2014

      B**** shut yo ass up!

      • RoyalKev May 23, 2014

        U mad b****?

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

Hmm I can’t even know what to say… Yes, I CAN’T even know what to say!

      • RoyalKev May 23, 2014

^ Ummhmm … That’s because it’s true. You can only own it.

@Stephy Bran sold 4 million with her debut, not 2!

      • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

According to the Nielsen Sound scan Era. Her debut album only sold 2+ million copies in AMERICA! Worldwide sales are estimated to be 4+ million… But I only post American Nielsen Sales…
        .
        .
Also, Mariah Carey is not the greatest thing walking earth. She cannot even sing anymore LIVE. I’ve said that multiple times. So, I don’t know who you were addressing with that statement. Maybe, delusional Lambs.
        .
        .
Ps. I’m keeping my eye on you flirting with my husband on this site! *Rolls Eyes*

      • RoyalKev May 23, 2014

Lmaaaao, omg! I’m not standing in your way! 🙂 Ya’ll can run off and marry, although I’d give it 2 years before we see you guys on Fix My Life.

Bran did 6 million ww and 4 in the states. I think the numbers are sometimes different depending on the source. I realized that in the 90’s albums were sold by that big music club (that I can’t remember the name of. Ugh!). The stats weren’t added to these artists overall tally from that time. Bran’s usually credited for 4 though.

As far as Mariah is concerned, I sometimes agree with you (the good, and the bad), but I don’t know if your truly being objective or just being controversial. Lambs in general do the most though. I think MC is great, but she has her flaws. A lot of them are always pointing out the flaws in others that their own fav have.

      • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

BMG club sales does not count towards Nielsen Soundscan cause those albums were not selling for full price & BMG Clubs were not considered a REAL outlet for retail album sales for Nielsen. But, that is true. Just like for Mariah.
        .
        .
Music Box, sold 7,300,000+ million copies out of retail stores but they did not count the extra 2.6+ million copies sold in BMG Clubs! But, RIAA does & they calculate it as Diamond.

    • Dossome May 23, 2014

Yeah,Kev..artists signed to Sony had Club sales which Soundscan didn’t count but were still eligible for RIAA certification

      • RoyalKev May 23, 2014

^ Was it only Sony artists though because I know all the sales from Whit’s BB isn’t always counted. What was the name of that club Dossome?

      • Dossome May 23, 2014

@Kev..i think it was BMG Record Club. Not sure about artists from other labels though

  12. Beyonce stan May 23, 2014

Idk Diane is so 90s but I love brandy so we will see

  13. RihIcon(Navy Comm) May 23, 2014

She should go with new producers not old tired 90s ones

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

Old people need love to boo…

  14. JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse is coming) May 23, 2014

Diane Warren has written way better and more successful songs than I Was Here, including big hits for Celine Dion for example. The obsession TGJ has with Beyonce is hilarious 🙂
    @royalkev
give it a rest hun, you always say the same thing the moment one single Mariah Carey fan (Stephy isn´t a real fan anyway) says something. You are waiting for it or something. All types of fan bases act crazy constantly. In fact, I would say the Mariah posts are the ones who suffer more the presence of trolls along with the Gaga posts and Xtina posts a couple of years ago (thankfully, due to the slayage which is the album, the trolling has stopped this week).

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

STOP SAYING THAT SHITT! I AM A REAL FAN. i KNOW ALL MARIAH’S WORK INSIDE & OUT. BEEN A FAN SINCE 1996! JUST BECAUSE I DONT KISS HER ASS & THINK SHES PERFECT & TELLS IT LIKE IT IS DOES NOT MEAN IM NOT A REAL FAN… GOSH!

      • JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse is coming) May 23, 2014

It´s true though. It´s not that you aren´t an ass kisser. It is that sometimes your comments are so hurtful that only coming from a hater do they make sense. Sorry.

    • royalkev May 23, 2014

      @John

That’s so not true John! Perhaps you and Dossome aren’t trolling, but Slayriah alone do way more than Stephy! Mariah seems to get it the worst because you’re a fan, you’re obviously turning a blind eye to a lot of the drama started in all the other posts. Then ya’ll go bat crazy when someone critique Mariah. It’s a real double standard with you guys!

      • JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse is coming) May 23, 2014

Sorry but you don´t convince me. I´m no Xtina fan and I can clearly see how bad she was treated in TGJ comments section a couple of years ago. Plus @slayriah is one person, as if we didn´t have several fans from each fan base doing the most all the time. It seems you can´t see how some Bey fans react in TGJ comments section everytime something which is not total praise is said.
No shade cause you are great, but I don´t know why you always insist and insist about Mariah fans. It keeps on not making any sense.

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

      This was great. Loved it!

      • BROCKA May 23, 2014

You may be crazy sometimes lol but you know good music! I just want you to actually get into Brandys discography and discover the magic! People call us starz delusional because she’s not a big seller anymore but she has so much musicial talent and so many artists have tried to imitate but there’s only one! Glad you liked it!

  15. Dossome May 23, 2014

Lol @stephy.you are not a real fan though and the worst is you THINK you know everything about Mariah which is a lie…

@John,IKR?In this blog, everyone shades everyone and the juvenile articles leave little room for civil discussion so i don’t know why a single fanbase is being singled out .

    • Stephy Tha Lambily May 23, 2014

What is the suppose to mean! I am a REAL fan of Mariah but also can see her b*******!

    • JOHNVIDAL (Iconic chanteuse is coming) May 23, 2014

      @dossome
As always, you are 100% right 🙂

  16. Absolved May 23, 2014

Go someone else with that “so 90’s” crap. Good songwriters don’t have an expiration date. Diane Warren is one of the best songwriters in the industry and is easily in the top 20 most acclaimed of the Rock & Roll era. Her material has more depth, maturity and a better lyrical flow, than both Sia and Linda Perry.

As far as this new collaboration with Brandy goes, well…good luck. I just hope that whoever is producing it does a good job bringing the track to life. And I’m gonna go ahead and say it: I hope David Foster is brought in for that. Foster and Warren are fire when it comes to big vocalists singing emotional material. You fans of talentless hacks who can’t even sing a basic scale (and are only famous because of Twitter and TMZ) can’t relate to actual skill, so you try to downplay it as “so 90’s”. Shut up.

    • XoMoDe May 23, 2014

Basically. You can always tell whose a Katy/Rihanna fan because they are the ones who are the first to spout off about something being “90’s” or “dated,” simply because it isn’t cheesy, poppy, hyper-tempo’d or has production that compliments good vocals, as opposed to drowning out bad singing.
