Baltimore‘s ‘African-American Music Festival’ welcomed Brandy Norwood to its stage last weekend, calling on the ‘Put It Down’ singer to blaze its stage with a set now available to peep right here on That Grape Juice.Net!

Set to work wonders for her once her new album campaign swings by, her performance at the event marked the latest outing made by the star to keep her name above R&B waters in between projects!

Was she any good?

Press play and weigh in below…

Killed it!

With a fan base that clearly can’t enough of her live show, one wonders if Brandy‘s next era should see her re-write R&B’s promotional rules as to fare better commercially than she has in recent years.

Indeed, while traditional promo rules have seen many an R&B diva spend months pushing a single they hope is strong enough to sell its supporting album, how cool would it be to see Brandy push an entire body of work with a tour launched before the LPs release date.

Made available to pre-order on the tour’s opening night, the album would see all of its cuts performed live for fans, giving them the chance to try before they buy, with all efforts placed towards pushing pre-order sales with radio stops in every city!

Just a thought.

When will you get the picture
    You’re the past
    I’m the future
Get away, it’s my time to shine
If you didn’t know the charts are mine.

This is what I feel like singing every time I see certain people trying to compete with the young kids of today.

Cute little remix dear. What do you think of mine?

You need to give it up
      You know Yours Truly sucked
      Bow down to MC
Your fave wishes she was mine

Brandy is Mariah and Dawn Surgerychard is Ariana. The only difference is that Brandy is more relevant than Mariah. #HowUFeel

    • SoGone4Monica June 23, 2014

The accuracy is so real sis.

    • Dance4Dawn June 23, 2014

Oh b****, I know you’re mad that Lemonade made more impact Put Your Career Down.

    • Adrian June 23, 2014

How is that so? I LOVE Brandy but Mariah sold in two weeks what Brandy sold in 6 months with Two Eleven and a HELL OF A LOT more promotion was done by RCA. Mariah may have done small numbers due to lack of promo but she is still THAT b****. The 3 mil she just collected for that France concert says it alone.

    • Beygency June 23, 2014

Two eleven sold 200k and Mariah has yet to sell 100k but I would not say she’s more relevant than Mimi but she is a much better performer and vocalist(these days) sorry NOT sorry! 😉

      • Skyfall June 23, 2014

B**** lies Mariah had already sold 155k ww

I have loved Brandy since 94. Watching this video reminded me why I was in love with her as a kid in the 90s. Never Say Never was the first CD I ever owned at age 7

She is a great live performer unlike MOST and she does it while maintaining a flawless LIVE vocal. I think brandy is my #2 fave female artist….the Wildest Dreams performance was hottttt especially how the crowd sang BGVs

  13. Rihboy June 23, 2014

I heart brandy. She was my yesteryears fave!

  14. RoyalKev June 23, 2014

Damn, I just love Bran! Brandy has a special quality about her that is so unique. I know it’s redundant to say this about her by now, but every time I listen to Brandy sing that’s all that comes to mind. It’s not even what she sings, it’s how she does it. She can sing the same “I love you” that you’ll hear 1000 times from so many others, but for some reason it always sounds fresh to me when Bran does it!

    • Zo June 23, 2014

Yo I kno exactly what ur talkin about. I can never explain it but this so the beat way possible l

      • RoyalKev June 23, 2014

It’s like she sings smart! You never get the same dry vocal choices from her over and over. I love that.

  15. metzo June 23, 2014

  21. brandy fan June 23, 2014

SHe s agood performer … SOmeone should tell her she doesnt need back up dancers. Just focus on the vocals like the great soul singers.

  22. Unedited June 24, 2014

I guess I’ll have to be the one to say it,having hope is one thing: Being delusional is another! The online crowd have been saying she is going to slay for a decade now, doesn’t it get old and disappointing when she doesn’t?
If you live online, you’d think Brandy was this mega super star and the best female singer of today(She’s not either), you go into the real world and people are like, who? Oh you mean moesha? That’s right, she’s more known for a character she played over a decade ago than she is as an singer!
Since 2004, the general public has just not been interested. Aphrodisiac was her last great album.Brandy is no one’s vocal bible though, especially when there are 5 female singers that sound better than her at their absolute worse, what makes it even worse they are pop singers and don’t even get me started on the R&B chicks who would drown her out without trying.

the performance was just ok, it didn’t slay anything. I really need for you girls to explore more than pop music and diva theatrics. Vocal bible’s don’t plan on doing a stadium and only 40 people show up lol

    • CSL June 24, 2014

That’s all you have on her? The empty arena incident? I won’t even explain what really happened because you’ve read the real story many times. You’re just out of negative things to say about her. I’m shocked you left the ’06 car crash out. You need to come up with something else. I’m South African and we adore Brandy and R&B music as a whole. Oh, BTW, Brandy will be in the country in August. We’re excited!!

  23. JFB June 24, 2014

Her & Monica are gonna tear this summer up & bring back Real R&B. I like Brandy but Monica is my fav of the 2. She’s so REAL.

  24. Del June 25, 2014
