It’s alright. The production is a little too much of a replica of the original, but her voice sounds smoother than usual. She should have made this a duet tough. The original was Jody Watley and Howard Hewwett trading vocals back and forth. A male voice singing HH’s part on this would have been more complimentary.

Yes mary! Slay! I love the original but this is cute. I can’t wait to preorder the album. MJB is LEGEND!

I was hoping the song would try to add a different style or personality, but it’s pretty much the same as the original, which makes it unremarkable.

It’s somewhat a force of the original track, but at the same time Mary’s voice lifted the dust off the record and brought it back to life. This could successfully be the intro performance of the 2014 BET Awards. I love Mary…no matter what nobody says and she’ll always be the queen of hiphop/soul!!!!!

The beat is way, way too heavy. It detracts from the song.

Sadly, she brings nothing to the song. I’d much rather listen to the original.
